Does anyone know what is the most viewed thread not created by a Kabam employee? Because this one is pulling big numbers so i have to assume it's really up there
I would guess the thread immediately following the revive nerf

I think the one after Seatin did a state of the game youtube video a few years ago. Not sure if it was when the act 7.1 beta came out and and there was some impossible node combinations and he just laid in to Kabam with everything that was wrong with the game. That’s when we had our first roadmaps, which appear to now be a thing of the past. The whole community was in uproar at the time. Just found it, it went to 118 pages, not included all the deleted posts https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/195653/general-game-feedback-merged-threads/p118
So to take a character from r1 to r4 it’s actually 13 million, not the 10 million they originally quoted haha.
You use more gold during the course of a rank up with catalysts. The gems have the benefit of replacing the catalysts using gold instead and giving you a discount on the gold you would have spent anyway.
I’m not understanding what you’re saying…
The gold cost of this rank up is exactly the same regardless of if you’re using catalysts or if you’re using a rank up gem. As you can see here.
And if you’re saying that the catalysts “saved” are what’s saving you gold, that doesn’t make sense because gold is for all intents and purposes not a currency you use to obtain catalysts. They’re won from quests or obtained in glory/loyalty/battleground stores etc
He’s probably talking about the r4 rank up, which I assume is an error with the difference in gold cost, since all others have the same cost between gem or catalysts.

@Usagicassidy as MrSakuragi has posted, there is a substantial saving for an r3-4. Whether it is an error or not, it still exists.
And it is exactly the point that catalysts cannot normally be obtained by gold under normal circumstances that the gems are useful. In the same way everyone was begging for more trade-in events based on gold - here it is... at least in part. Not everyone has a gold shortage.
For players that have an abundance of gold, having the option to use gold for the materials instead of just for the cost of the rank-up process is a win. They can save their catalysts for an additional rank-up.
I’m curious. Kabam mike said this was an event that didn’t require months of hoarding, yet we need 165k 6* shards for one of the deals? How does that make sense @Kabam Miike

Hoarding is not required because you can whip out your credit card to purchase the needed units for those shards

Easy, by everything except a couple of gold deals being completely undesirable means there is no temptation to get much and so you don't need to have hoarded
This whole event didn’t make sense though. No communication about it before or now while it’s going on and we have questions about deals. Horrible weird offers that required grinding before the event to obtain and a crazy points system for a civil warrior. Like it’s insane how many thing went wrong.
Thank you all for the feedback. Personally, I don't think that this event itself is all bad, but I can see how certain parts of it and personally set expectations can make it undesirable for folks.
First, we need to say the same thing we've said in the past. Not every event is going to appeal to everybody, and there should not be an expectation that everybody can and should be able to complete every event, objective, quest, etc., that comes out.
We're also simultaneously seeing people saying they don't like any of the deals, and then getting mad that they exist. If you don't want to take part in the offers, you do not have to. You can choose where you spend your Gold, your Units, and your Time. If this isn't worth it, then don't do it.
Further, this is very optional. There is no item in the store or in the Solo event that is going to make a radical difference or give anybody a major advantage. Personally, I think that's a good thing because it makes the event totally optional.
As a community, we know that we have a tendency to treat everything in-game as compulsory or feel that everybody should be able to do everything without investing in the content. This is not the case, and there does not need to be an easy way to get everything (that's how games die when there is nothing left to chase).
We're taking this feedback to the team for future events, and I hope that we can improve upon them for our players, but also know that there will be more events in the future that will not appeal to everybody.
I know this might come across negatively, but that's not what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to be earnest and honest with you, and I hope you guys understand that. I will not be responding to any more questions or comments on what I have said above.

This event cant be appealing to anyone past the year 2018, that's the big issue we are having
A bunch whole of nothing, basically. Probably there wouldn't be many complains about the existence of these "offers" if they where achievable with other means rather than money or 5x the unit costs of what it should. Additionally, if there wasn't any "prize milestone" to tempt player's in to wasting to try to get it. It just shows your bad greedy side once again.

Not mad that they exist, mad that they suck and so are wasting one, if not the only, of the known trade-in store opportunities. Keep a recurring trade store going that'll give people an opportunity to get rid of the bajillions of extra crystals and items. Where's the solo crystal or arena crystal trades?

This. If the game was like it used to be back then (2018 ish like I was saying above), it would have primarily had rewards that could be earned through in-game achievements with the option to spend money to boost that progress or skip it entirely, not just "spend money to get the rewards and guess you can do a couple of things to spend $100 less"

As a community it is our job to give you feedback. It doesn't really matter if you think the event is fine when an overwhelming majority of the community is telling you its horrible.
Maybe instead of telling people to just not take part in the event cuz it's "not for them" you should ask for feedback on why people think the event is bad, and use that to make better events in the future.
Even though I traded in gold for a few of the deals this isn’t an endorsement that the event is good. If the store and sale items just popped up, all at the same time I don’t think there would be an issue. But it was advertised through in game messages as something to look forward to. I don’t think anyone understands the rationale for staggering when items are added to the store, especially as they are so niche, overpriced and really bad. It’s sets an expectation that there is something to look forward and it is a massive disappointment to see the rubbish deals.
I have 3 out of the 4 trophy champions at 4*. But I’d have to buy all of them if I wanted one at 5*. I don’t know how anyone at Kabam could justify this as a good deal or even fair. And to have 2 days of building up expectations waiting for this was an insane decision.
I get the point that not all deals are for everyone but deals that are advertised in advance surely should be aimed towards the majority of the players. Kabam could have just put the Trophy champ deals out independently on a random Friday. But Kabam set the expectation and it was massively way of base.
The community has given feedback in the past. We’ve waited years for the trade in store where we could swap awakening gems etc. I still have 8x 6* awakening gems with no one to use them on. I get it’s probably too early to trade in for a 7* awakening gem but I don’t have a use for them, because you give them out like candy. I have 8million of the solo crystal shards, this would have been a great opportunity to trade them in for something meaningful for my account. There’s so many good things we could have seen, it’s such a missed opportunity, that’s what’s so frustrating with it.
I also think the community have given lots of feedback over the last few years, but it doesn’t really get listened to, although the gold trade in did make a small return to give some credit. Listening to Brian Grants stream and Lagacys video the CCP appear to given lots of feedback too, so hopefully they will be heard. Lagacy said he could design an awesome event that was both great for FTP and whales. Why not let Lagacy design the next event.
Oh god… the other threads got merged and closed so that it looks like I said “Wow, really adding a unique perspective and a lot of substance to this thing we’ve all been discussing the past 3 days…” to a really thoughtful and thorough discussion and not as a response to you-know-who lol. The horror!

What about the direct contradiction in what you said that hoarding wouldn’t be needed, but yet it clearly is?

Hey, you only need to hoard either like 30,000 units up to this point, 165,000 6* shards. That can all be gained in a day, no hoarding at all...
They really said the same sh*t last time an event like this rolled around and came back with an event that removed all of the good aspects of a trade in store and not doubled, but tripled (maybe an even higher multiple) down on what made these events bad. Genuinely gonna be hard to convince me this wasn't on purpose.

But that’s missing the point *almost* entirely. We want to be able to participate. We wanted trade-in options that make sense. We would even appreciate deals that were priced reasonably.
The solo event is laughable honestly. There’s no clear way to achieve any substantial progress with how few points are awarded for each objective.
We’re not upset in the existence of the in game deals. We’re upset they’re so overpriced for what they award.
Maybe the tinfoil is just on a bit too tight but this just feels like you’re discouraging us from wanting to see this event ever again. You mention multiple times this year you will not be bringing it back because hoarding is unhealthy for the game. Then bring it back in this state.
"There is no item in the store or in the Solo event that is going to make a radical difference" @Kabam Miike I disagree, what about the 10k shards for conqueror on the 2nd milestone? That's a big deal for conquerors right? What about the 2 abyss nexus's on the 4th milestone? That'd be game changing for some if it was possible to get and if the deals inticing enough and actually worth it, if it was possible to get without spending on rubbish deals it'd be a pretty big deal to me as it'd give me bigger chance at longshot etc. So unfortunately the juicy rewards from the solo event are stuck behind rubbish and ridiculous so called "deals". With all respect you guys unfortunately fumbled this store event and I do wish you guys to be successful with other store events in the future.

I don't get it, so many constructive feedbacks on this thread and the others and yet we get this as a response....well if everyone stops buying every single deal in the game, the game will die so it's not that simple as ''if you don't like it, don't do it''....as people have said above, we want to be part of the deals and we want to buy something that it's worth it so why make an event like this KNOWING that the majority of the playerbase will hate it? Idk, surely your goal when making "events" should be to appeal to the most amount of people as possible. Events should be able to bring the community together and you kinda hit that balance recently with the legends celebration. Can't be using the idea that "it won't appeal to everyone" as a scapegoat.

Even if its a trophy 4*
And all that for 19 points
Maybe instead of telling people to just not take part in the event cuz it's "not for them" you should ask for feedback on why people think the event is bad, and use that to make better events in the future.
But some of the stuff that is put out...
I just don't understand why go thru the effort and time to create a whole event that's not gonna appeal to most people.
Why isn't every event done in a way to make the players happy? Seems like it should logically be the best way to go for all parties involved lol
