FIT FOR A KING
How did the Black Panther become the Black Panther? Like those who came before him, he proved himself in a set of rites meant to test all aspects of his body and mind; The Trials of the King. Thanos’ growing power casts a dark shadow across the Battlerealm, and King T’Challa finds himself reflecting on the lessons of the Trials now more than ever. After communion with the Panther God Bast, T’Challa knows what he must do. All leaders are only as good as their weakest ally. T’Challa must know that you are capable of doing what must be done. You must prove yourself in the Trials of the King.
WE ON NOW
Trials of the King is the collective name of 7 different Daily Quests. Starting on January 31st at 10AM PST, the first Trial of the King - called the Trial of Heart - will become available for 24 hours.
Like M.O.D.O.K.’s Lab, Trials of the King will have ENTRY LIMITS. Unlike M.O.D.O.K.’s Lab however, ONLY ONE DIFFICULTY of Trials of the King can be played every day. This means if you enter Easy difficulty, and either complete or quit that quest, you will have used your entries for all difficulties for that day. In the event that you QUIT the quest, you will also be forfeiting all rewards for that day as well.
For the first 6 days, you’ll be playing through 3 fights in every difficulty, with all those fights having a set of Buffs applied to them that fit the theme of that day. More details on enemies and Buffs are below, but the theme of each day is as follows:
Day 1: Trial of Heart - Fights that focus on Regeneration and Degeneration (mostly regen).
Day 2: Trial of Time - Fights that focus on time limits and time-based effects.
Day 3: Trial of Resilience - Fights that focus on defensive abilities.
Day 4: Trial of Spirit - Fights that focus on Power Gain and Power Drain.
Day 5: Trial of Wisdom - Fights that focus on changing the normal flow of battle.
Day 6: Trial of Strength - Fights that focus on high damage.
Whichever difficulty you complete will always award you with an ESSENCE. Essences are mode specific Boosts that will grant you powerful effects on the seventh day: The Trial of the Infinite. The Trial of the Infinite is a collection of 6 fights - one from each of the previous 6 days, and will allow you to play EACH DIFFICULTY ONCE. It also has increased rewards when compared to the previous 6 days (details on that below). After the 7th day, the cycle resets. This will occur 4 times, with the final Trial of the Infinite concluding on February 28th at 10:00 AM PST. Here’s a handy diagram to plot this out:
WALKTHROUGH
That’s a lot of stuff, so let’s go through what a week might look like, step by step.
Day 1 - Trial of Heart appears and you decide to play Expert difficulty:
You complete the map, and receive the reward, including that day’s Essence - the Essence of
Heart:
Day 1 has now been completed. If you quit out of the quest you entered, however, you will lose the opportunity to obtain the Essence for that day (as well as any other rewards).
Repeat this Process on days 2 through 6:
When Day 7 appears, you will be able to enter each difficulty once:
These fights WILL be harder, but rewards will also increase. In these quests, you will be able to activate your Essences from Days 1-6 to give you an edge. Essences only last 30 minutes however, so make sure to use them when it counts!
And that’s it! Once the Trial of the Infinite is complete, the Trial of Heart will return and a new 7-day cycle will begin!

EDIT 1/25/2018 - Added Info on Energy Costs
How much energy do these quests cost?
Easy: 1 Energy Per Step
Medium: 2 Energy Per Step
Hard: 3 Energy Per Step
Expert: 4 Energy Per Step
Is there a time limit on the quests?
Outside of the 24 hour timer before the next quest spawns, no.
What is an Essence?
Essences are mode specific Boosts, similar to previous mode specific boosts like Soul Boosts, Essences give you powerful new abilities or enhance existing abilities, but can only be used in specific quests (in this case, Trial of the Infinite).
What do the Essences do?
Essence of Heart
Your Champions trigger an Arc Overload every 20 Seconds, healing 25% Base Health over 6 seconds.
Essence of Patience
Your Champions' Special Attacks increase in damage by 10% every 10 seconds.
Essence of Fortitude
Your Champions cycle between building up Physical Resistance and Energy Resistance every 8 seconds.
Essence of Will
Your Champions gain 100% more Power from attacking or being attacked.
Essence of Wisdom
Your Champions have a 7% Chance to Evade all incoming Attacks and leave your Opponent Stunned for 1 second.
Essence of Strength
Your Champions gain up to 200% increased Attack based on lost Health.
Can I use Essences anywhere except the Trial of the Infinite?
No. Essences are meant to be collected on Days 1-6, and then used ONLY on day 7.
Do Essences Stack?
Yes, you will want to use them all and then do the Trial of the Infinite if you want to succeed as easily as possible.
What if I miss a day?
Too bad. You can still play subsequent days but you won’t get the rewards from the day you missed, and this includes the Essence.
Which enemies can we expect to fight?
Here’s a list of enemies that can appear on each day (Trial of the Infinite has a chance for any of them - each day is a node in Trial of the Infinite).

What Buffs will they have?

Trial of Resilience
Trial of Spirit
Trial of Wisdom
Trial of Strength
Trial of the Infinite
Trial of the Infinite has all these Buffs (not on the same node) as it contains the fights from previous days with respective Buffs and enemies. Trial of the Infinite does have increase ISO Infused and Champion Boost Buffs, however. They are as follows:
What are the rewards?
Below is a list of the rewards for each difficulty on Days 1-6 (note that there is a 50% chance to get a signature stone/signature stone crystal on each day, and a 50% chance to acquire varying Tiers of ISO, like M.O.D.O.K.’s Lab):
And below is what you can expect from each difficulty of Day 7 (Trial of the Infinite):
I don’t see anything here about that purple crystal in the images… what’s that about?
That purple Crystal is a Wakandan Ultimate Crystal! In each difficulty of any Trial, there will be a chance for you to win either a Wakandan Ultimate Crystal or a chunk of Premium Hero Crystal Shards. The amount of Premium Hero Crystal Shards and your chance of getting an Ultimate Crystal differs depending on the difficulty you play. If you play Expert, you are more likely to get an Ultimate Crystal than if you play Heroic, etc. Here’s how many Shards are awarded per difficulty:
Easy: 100 Premium Hero Crystal Shards
Medium: 200 Premium Hero Crystal Shards
Hard: 300 Premium Hero Crystal Shards
Expert: 600 Premium Hero Crystal Shards
For those who are unaware, Ultimate Crystals guarantee a 3-Star Hero, with a chance to award a 4-Star Hero. The heroes present in this Ultimate Crystal are:
Black Panther
Black Panther (Civil War)
Storm
Captain America
Captain America (WWII)
Winter Soldier
Iron Man
Black Widow
Hulk
War Machine
Falcon
Killmonger
Also, is Killmonger really "TChallasPet" ?
Nope! They are mode specific, meaning you can ONLY use them in the Trial of the Infinite.
If you do all these quests without missing one (ie 4 weeks), you will get:
- 10000 5* Crystal Shards (2500 per week x 4)
- 16800 PC shards (600 per day)
- 32 T4cc fragment crystals
- 20 5* Sig stone crystals (assuming 50% chance, you get 3 from days 1-6 and 2 guaranteed from day 7)
- 24 essences (6 types, and 4 quantities of each type)
- Any more rewards you get from doing other difficulties/getting the wakandan crystal
It's in the picture. 1 energyfor beginner and +1 for the next difficulty (4 in Master difficulty)
The picture is accurate. I forgot to include this in the original post - I will update now! It's 1, 2,
3, 4 Energy for Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert respectively.
Great!
Use 3*s then.
Might I suggest just challenging yourself and not bringing your 4/55? That would make it more fun right? Serious, not trying to be a %*%*
That sucks a little bit, should let us do them all if we wish to
Storm? Mutant in the movie too?
That's been a node before. I remember Elektra having it in an Act 4 quest.
Edit: It's called mesmerize
I am well aware of this, and the expert difficulty has it with Bane. This pure evil
