As many of you have reported, we are currently experiencing some unexpected hardware and software issues. This is causing many of you to experience limited access to the game, as well as sub par performance in game.
While we continue to investigate the issues and identify solutions, we will be delaying the start of Alliance Wars Season 3.
At this time, we do not have a timeline for when we will be launching Season 3, but want to ensure that we have time to work to resolve any interactions that are causing problems on iOS devices before starting the next competitive season.
We apologize for the delay, and appreciate your patience. We will update you all as soon as we have more information on these issues.

The fights needed to received prizes at the end of the season is unchanged?

Yes, because now that the Seasons are shorter, you will have more opportunities to change Alliances during the Off Season, but we also still wanted to ensure that we're not allowing Alliance hopping, or abuse of Alliance hopping.
The rewards have not changed (aside from Season rewards being halved to match the change in length). This is because Alliances were still finding these Maps far too easy. The goal of these changes is to put an end to the near 100% of wars ending in 100% Exploration.

what's wrong with 100% exploration? people will continue to pay for 100% you know that right?
This is correct, but keep in mind that the Meta of the Game has changed a lot since we introduced Defender Diversity, and players have become pretty accustomed to many of the "top defenders" and have counters at the ready! This also does not mean that Diversity won't return in a future season.
They are counting on it
100% exploration should be a rare instance, and if achieved, should be helping to decide the winner of a War. It should not be a common occurrence for both Alliances to be able to hit 100%, and then the deciding factor becomes Attacker Bonus points.
You answered your own question.
I will guarantee everyone from master - p2 will still need 100% exploration.
Except now we will just have to spend more.
of course they will. Kabam has made alliance wars into such a mess that anyone in plat and up will still be 100% each map. Kabam knows this. So why not make nodes harder, while increasing each fights difficulties since you'll no longer have the diversity fight. Get people to buy more potions. thanks @Kabam Miike .
So, with the exception of those Nodes on Challenger and Expert that we mentioned, we haven't made any other nodes harder. The new Nodes are meant to make things more difficult, but will also be visible from the get go, so Attackers are able to bring in champions to specifically counter whatever Champion they see there.
If the rewards are halved, but there's now an extra 2 weeks between the seasons, this would actually net less rewards over the same length of time
It's laughable to claim that 100% should not be the norm. Kabam clearly knows that is not an option if you want to compete.
That makes it real tough on rank up decisions especially with many people getting their 2nd and 3rd R5 5*s soon. This “diversity or no diversity” system can’t keep flip flopping around because that will screw a lot of people up. Also, diversity has been great for strategy in the past season. It was a thoughtful decision to decide whether or not to place for diversity, guessing how much diversity the opponent placed, etc. “Spreadsheet wars” as you guys called it was an integral part of planning and rewarded those who put in the most effort. Wars are decided by defender kills, not diversity. The tie-breaker effect it was having was working well. Just my thoughts on this change.
Couldn’t you achieve the same result by removing item use completely?
Yes, we are currently deciding which day to put these into play (it will have to be after the next update, but we want to do it ASAP to give you as many Wars to practice as possible). We'll let you guys know as soon as we have an exact day, but wanted to get this information up as soon as we could.
Another awesome swerve by Kabam...spend 2 seasons touting the significance of diversity. and it truly did make the difference in wars. so ofc we ranked up champs to use on defense if no one else had them. Now, they are useless.
