Re: When Will We See Them as 7*’s?
For sure, and that’s understandable.Problem here is not only paywall.Problem is game changing champions like Human Torch , Dark phoenix is behind paywall.Put groot or Iron patriot behind paywall.Very few will complain.
Keep in mind - I just announced the Omega Days coming to the Base Pool about 48 hours ago, so while those Champions you just mentioned aren’t in the pool yet, I’d say there’s a solid chance we see them there eventually.
The reality is, this game is in a VERY different place than it was 6 years ago when we were dropping 6 stars. You’re right, double tracks didn’t exist, neither did milestone tracks, etc.
We didn’t have large events celebrating the release of pools of Champions.
There were a small number of game modes, featured 6 star crystals, and that’s about it.
I’m genuinely not sitting here saying “every Champ needs to be released for money and only money.”
Money has nothing to do with what I’m talking about here. Next month, your choice of the Rebirth Champions will be available for free - and they’re even getting buffed and are pretty solid additions.
If you don’t like the addition of “paywalled” Champions, or Champions that require a very high Unit cost, that’s obviously a valid train of thought - however, it’s an entirely different discussion than what’s happening here. Regardless of how they were made available, they were available to be owned at the 7 Star Rarity - even if not widely available yet.
What I’m saying, is that just because there’s a list of Champions that are “fine to release,” (Jubilee, Wasp, etc) that doesn’t mean we should just enable them all in the next build, that wouldn’t be a practical way to roll out the 7 Star Roster.

Re: Character Wishlist Thread 3.0
I'd like to recommend Jack of Hearts

He could be a Science/Cosmic champion, y'all haven't done a split champion in awhile but I think Jack would be a great choice for one. If you consider he is a alien/human hybrid along with his body being infused with zero energy. He could ramp up by the longer he's in a fight the more zero energy he builds. This could reach a critical point and cause him to overload. Y'all could have some way of him cooling himself off. Possibly the sp3 which would deal no damage to the enemy but would remove half of his currently built up energy(It would be really cool if he would fly into a dying star and relight it). The higher his zero energy charge the more damage he can do, but if he stays in overload for too long he explodes and does a set amount of damage to the enemy. He would then be locked out of being used for a fight or two, like a reverse persistent charge. He would then reform and be able to be used again at full health.
Jack's signature ability would be the Stark Scanalyzer, this would let him think at superhuman speeds and could give him more control over his zero energy build up. Possibly passive anti-evade and anti-auto block or something like that.
Jack of Hearts could have a bunch of really cool synergies. The one I'd look forward to would be moondragon and she hulk. In closing i think Jack of Hearts would be a great addition to the contest.

Re: ACT 8 CRUCIBLE COUNTERS List
It should be impossible for 99% of the player base. It’s endgame content. To those saying "you don't need to plan anything or a spreadsheet" I guarantee you will, some of these fights are roadblocks without a proper counter and the whole thing is almost 99% guaranteed to be 7* locked in legendary difficulty because allowing 6* would be way too easy.7 star locking it would make it impossible for 99% of the playerbase. It'll be 6 star minimum at most
I'll be posting an extensive list with all the 7* options for every fight that requires OR is easier with a counter tonight, if anyone wants to use it good, if you don't oh well 😀
Re: ACT 8 CRUCIBLE COUNTERS List
The team probably won’t do it, but I’d prefer the event be unlocked only for players who have at least completed a single pass through all of Act 8.

Re: When Will We See Them as 7*’s?
They wont buff him again if they didn't when they released him as a 7* and I honestly dont care if they do or not. I dont even want civil warrior.*Me, a Civil Warrior stan from way back, thinking about what a few tweaks — block/parry non-contact attacks? Longer durations of Fury/Armor Ups? — could look like with some Stat Focus*For sure, and that’s understandable.I see what youre saying.

Where's civil warrior
My beef with civil warrior is that it sets a ridiculously horrible precedent for other champions who had a similar acquisition method. If they refuse to release a garbage - mid tier champ they've been gatekeeping for just about 2 years now what does it mean for red guardian and human torch? Because its starting to sound like theyre going to hold these "special" releases for 2 years before letting the general playerbase have a chance at getting them. Which is simply awful and should not happen

Re: I've reached mental capacity for champions (and what that can mean for the game going forward)
I feel like partially the complexity of characters and nodes is on people that write the descriptions, they sometimes feel more like law textbook than human description

Re: I've reached mental capacity for champions (and what that can mean for the game going forward)
Been saying this for a while and its the reason i stepped away from competitive play. 2 champs a month was fine with me for a while but it hasn't been for well over a year now. The complexity of new champs is just added headache. Like how long can the game actually keep up like this. Long ago id just take a break from releasing new and buff old ones instead. Theres a big list of champs people want buffed.
Re: I've reached mental capacity for champions (and what that can mean for the game going forward)
So, you don’t think there’s basic math involved here? The effort to do six mid adjustments couldn’t be equivalent to doing 1-2 significant adjustments? Do something that will be meaningful to rosters, that’s my point.
I agree about niche champs, btw. There’s no need for anything BUT niche champs at this point. Problem is, only two of the rebirth champs qualify-ish: Viv and AV (maybe). And they would qualify based on their current kits, so the updates don’t even matter in this regard.
Does anyone need another hard-hitting armor breaking cosmic? Or a mutant with mid regen? Totally useless to anyone with a broad roster, unless you’re one of those people who just adores the character of Sabretooth and can’t wait to use him despite the fact he’s not good for anything, in which case, we will never see eye to eye on this kind of question.

Re: I've reached mental capacity for champions (and what that can mean for the game going forward)
Nobody was asking for a full kit and animations overhaul. We just wanted a little more than "Doctor voodoo's heavies do something now"I don’t want those champs as they currently exist, no. But I gotta say, I’m not very hyped up this upcoming batch of reworks either. Niche uses for Viv and maybe AV, expect they both want high sig.Because a substantive rework is on the level of og iron man and cyclops. It takes 6-8 months to fully rework one single champ like that. That's also not really helping the game in the long run. Fact of the matter is, the game also needs smaller updates to champs like we're getting with Viv and AV. That doesn't exclude them from getting more updates later.
On DLL’s video, he basically says, yeah, we didn’t have time to make major changes so this is the level of update that was possible. What I would like to ask is, why bother updating six champs that probably aren’t different enough to get significant playtime? Why not do substantive reworks for a smaller number of champs?
Re: I've reached mental capacity for champions (and what that can mean for the game going forward)
Everybody knows that this stuff takes time. And even with a rework, it doesn’t always land in an impactful way. Looking in your direction, Cyclops.
But my earlier point still stands. Why bother with six middling adjustments instead of trying two substantive reworks? I’m interested in Viv because I was already, and she will fill a niche in my roster for a robot heal blocker with phase. AV, I’ll keep an open mind even though I probably won’t give him a gem and sigs for years.
The other four are probably just more fodder for arena. I mean, why choose DV at all? It’s clear they don’t want power control in the game, especially in the mystic class.
