Saying 6* is not the meta kinda baffles me considering you have just released AOL which uses challenger rating. 6.2 has 6* gates where you need up to 4 6* which obviously pushed the players to look to take 6* up not to mention you need niche characters for the fights on that path like power control etc. 6.3 saw a big increase to health pools and attack which again pushed players to look towards 6* to help with that because a r2 6* > r5 5*.
Yes randomness has always been part of the game, but then you created act 6. Act 6 requires so many specific counters and has pushed us to widen our roster to tackle it that RNG is just frustrating especially coupled with the limited inventory we have as well as some of the niche fights through act 6 such as acid wash mysterio. E.g. I only have 1 r5 Cosmic champ and then pulled a cosmic champ i wanted to take up but was short of cosmic mats/gems etc. I opened 50 T4CC crystals. In that 50 i got 3 Cosmic and 24 Science... 24 BLOODY SCIENCE T4CC. The trade system for this is outdated. You're basically forcing players to rank up champs that they don't want to otherwise lose materials. Rewards should not feel disappointing or as if they are being punished.
What is the point in spending all those units, resources and time to get something you can't use. it Sucks and honestly if that happens to me i'm walking away because its not fun to feel like you wasted your effort for something you can't use and may be a while before you can. You have failed to strike a good balance with random rewards and generic rewards which has always been the way in prior chapters which are far more easier to complete then act 6 is.
The rewards you are trying to steer away from generic 6* materials such as a t5cc selector or a generic AG which is disappointing in itself, but why are the 5* gems not generic for 100% Exploration. The theme throughout previous chapters had it right in terms of when a player achieves a big milestone they have the right to choose who they want to rank up or awaken etc. Look at the rewards for previous chapters. at the minimum the 5* gems should of been generic for 100% completion.
and again if i get to the rewards and get shafted by RNG and get nothing i desire or have any use for, then i'll look to using my time in others ways rather then the game and will walk away.
The gap has never been wider and the only thing keeping the gap wider is the random rng with AOL and act 6.4 full exploration. Skill should be rewarded on who is able to complete act 6.4 first and AOL first to be able to keep up with the end game but the random rng makes it impossible at this point.
Edit: some guy named SavageToby had a near solo using unduped 6* corvus got him down to 30% the incernrate was ticking for 81 dmg so not much there.
I wanted to let you know that we are still talking about some changes to rewards, and we currently have some plans but have not finalized them yet.
Off the bat, I want to point out that the T5CC Crystal and 6-Star Awakening Gem Crystal are not changing, but we agree that the rewards here now are tailored more for 5-Stars, and players that are 100%ing Act 6 would probably like to grow their 6-Star Roster.
The first completion will still be geared more towards growing/empowering your 5-Star Roster, but 100% Exploration will be geared towards 6-Star Champions.
