True, but at least they didn't take away from falcon. I think the problem was that people thought kabam didn't do enough. But in the case of hood, I think they did a bit too much here.
Took him to rank 5 a pretty long time ago, was one of my more fun options against the 6.2.6 champion boss. I guess I can now finally be someone who says: “rank down ticket, give it, I want my t2a back”

the other thin is with his sig it's nolonger power steal on all attacks when invisibility is on cooldown it's just mediums meaning it triggers much less and they nerfed it from 45% to 65% making his power steal much less effective
I have Hood at 4/55 and wanted to take him to 5/65 in the future but no more. If I could rank down him I would do it. Getting rid of his Sp 2 Hex for damage is a bad choice. You did my boy dirty.

have to say absolutely agree, yes the new mechanics are nice, I don't deny that, will he hit harder again yes, but I think that removing utility is never a good start to a buff. It sets a trend for reworks in the future to take away as much as they add, making champs different not better. I think it would have been better for everyone if we just had some potency duration increases on his invisibility shocks bleeds and staggers instead of adding new mechanics when he has a good core kit just doesn't hit hard. With this buff he is worse for what I need him for which is reliable buff control. I loved him because he stopped opponents gain buffs just by doing 5 hit combos as long as you had good crit RNG, I don't value his heavy looping and new style of invisibility because that is not why I ranked him up, but it is what kabam has decided he needs.

totally agreed. I think it's also pertinent whether the champion is actually getting ranked up for use of the ability that's removed. When buffing Yellowjacket, i doubt many people would have complained if his stun after power sting expired was removed in place of some new abilities. Nobody is ranking up yellowjacket for that ability. People are ranking up Hood for his buff control, and that is a useful ability. Like you said, people are filling a buff control champ hole in their roster and Hood is much much worse for that role.
There should never be a situation when an ability is removed in favour for new ability (which is arguably just damage in this case)
Imagine, taking this to it's extreme, that Kabam decided Ghost needed a rework (would never happen of course, but bear with), they decided that they would remove ghost's phasing and in place they would give her a chunky fury buff that triggered on special attacks. People ranked up ghost because of what she does, phasing and big damage along with a host of utilities. Removing the phasing dramatically changes her as a champion and the extra damage does not replace what she was ranked up for. Removing some of Hood's buff control capabilities changes him as a champion. You cannot argue that just because he got some more damage it's a justifiable change.
And if you say these situations are different, yeah they are, ghost won't be changed and she won't have her phasing removed, but where do you draw the line of Kabam removing a champions utility in place of adding a bit more damage?

Well yea they're removing his biggest piece of utility along with the ability to refresh things like his stagger, sure they're giving him damage but looking at the numbers he'll be an alright damage dealer at best, I mean what's the point in having damage without utility, corvus, magneto, ghost, Foo would all be meh characters if all they brought to the table was damage, but they all bring loads of utility too arguably more than current hood and certainly more than "buffed" hood

Like you said, people are filling a buff control champ hole in their roster and Hood is much much worse for that role.
There should never be a situation when an ability is removed in favour for new ability (which is arguably just damage in this case)
Imagine, taking this to it's extreme, that Kabam decided Ghost needed a rework (would never happen of course, but bear with), they decided that they would remove ghost's phasing and in place they would give her a chunky fury buff that triggered on special attacks. People ranked up ghost because of what she does, phasing and big damage along with a host of utilities. Removing the phasing dramatically changes her as a champion and the extra damage does not replace what she was ranked up for. Removing some of Hood's buff control capabilities changes him as a champion. You cannot argue that just because he got some more damage it's a justifiable change.
And if you say these situations are different, yeah they are, ghost won't be changed and she won't have her phasing removed, but where do you draw the line of Kabam removing a champions utility in place of adding a bit more damage?
