I fundamentally disagree with that point @GroundedWisdom. It’s not flat out a negotiation but right now we are wanting a dialogue between kabam on what we(the consumer/customer) want to see from kabam(the company).
Imagine if my company I work for looked at our communication with our customers we try to have sell our products this way.
Imagine if we looked at feedback from what our consumers didn’t like or wanted to see different about our product this way.
Now you are right not everything can be incorporated but yes part of the communication is to get something out of it. That something is a change to the product you are hoping to see. Change to what you are getting from the person supplying the product. If everyone was asking for X from our product and we decide that we know better or if our customers want us to deliver a service and we refuse they will likely move on.
So yes customer/ consumer and the parent company communications do have a gives and gets relationship and yes it is fair to expect something out of the communication. Why would we bother with communication if that wasn’t the case.
Then you're not really talking about communication. That's negotiation. That's communication with a goal in mind. Communication is simply an open dialog so that both, or all, sides can understand each other. The only thing it involves exchanging is information. When you’re talking about wanting better communication, you're talking about information. More of it, and/or in a way that's digestible and sufficient for an understanding to be reached. That's the only real goal of communication, understanding through knowledge shared.
Again I don’t think it a flat out negotiation though I would argue even that’s a form of communication.
Another analogy for example is a protest. This is a way for a large community of like minded people to communicate there opinions. This is intended to get a dialog going to spark change.
Again it’s a way of communicating with an intent in mind. But it isn’t a negotiation as there isn’t anything being leveraged to spark that change.
Communication with intent is not just negotiations. That is too narrow of a description. Most forms of communication have some sort of intent for the people in the conversation trying to get something out of it. You can be making a point for the intent of getting something changed without active negotiation.
Now in the case of a dialog we would get more of the rational for why changes aren’t going to happen versus a response similar to what I tell my children which is basically because I said so. Some more active dialog with the community I think would be helpfu. Taking into account what your consumers want and trying to put that into the game is a healthy environment for a community.

I also fundamentally disagree. While, yes, you are providing the denotation of "communication" in conversation we usually use connotation to determine the meaning of something.
While I understand all too well the general well-meaning of correcting people, you lose sight of the actual meaning. And this isn't meant to be a slight - it's just reality.
Keep in mind that communication usually has an adjective in front of it - usually "better". The phrase "better communication" implies that that previous communication has been a failure and in order to continue down a given path, both parties have to provide more. The second an adjective is added, the meaning of the phrase can imply something entirely different. Better communication is "communication with a goal in mind" the goal being an improvement on the previous communication.
What I'm trying to say is most people understand the implication behind better communication, and don't necessarily get bogged down in minutiae. If the majority can imply the meaning, we could then assume it's used correctly. Case in point, GIF will always be JIF to me. That's how the guy who created it pronounced it. But most people know them with the hard G. It doesn't serve any useful purpose for me to tell anyone else that's not how it's technically meant to be pronounced.
On topic, I too hope for better communication moving forward, but I'm anxious about any potential changes. I don't mind the meta shifting if it needs to happen, but I do think there are some QoL changes that should take higher priority. To me, this has always felt like a Hunger Games type of competition where you barely get enough resources. I think that has what made it so competitive but also why there is so much frustration boiling over. I'm hopeful that they have a good plan that eases some of the tension.

The subject I responded to was better communication. Better communication means better communication. Communication has only one intent. Which is why I made the distinction. People sometimes mistake communicating with getting something out of it, and that isn't what it's about. It's about presenting more information in a way that better communicates the sides involved. Once we start saying, "We want better communication so we can have more of a say in what they do.", that becomes something else, and it cheapens the process. Cooperation is another thing entirely. Better ways to communicate means they offer more information, more in-depth, in a way that helps us better understand. So many times I've heard the word transparency brought up here when what people really want is a say in their decisions. That's not transparency.
I have checked this thread every day since it started. Feel much the same to what many here have posted. But it is bonkers that kabam has effectively been silent to what is being said.
- Don't expect things to change right away. Even if we love your idea, it will be several months before anything changes. If we choose to impliment something, we need to plan out the new feature, create specification sheets, assign programming resources, test it several times, and finally release it. By the time the feature is in place, it will probably have been tweaked and modified in many ways, and you might not even recognize it.
Add this one to the list of the unusable champ. What am I supposed to do with this other than arena?
Saving up for a 6* and pulling this are the things that make this game not fun and make quitting a lot easier.
There is literally nothing I’m looking forward to in this game now and here’s why- • after multitudes of feat favs, even a recent try for longshot, I cannot get a feature champ at a useable *
• I have 20 6* and not one of them are useable , and the odds are the next one I pull will be just the same.
* it’ll be at least a month in a half to two months to save up for another 6*, exhausting
* I’ve already completed act 6, to get a whopping 6* electro and I now sit on a 1->2 gem that I cannot use. I just 100% variant 4 and these were my results, so what content would be fun to do now? ( no fun, high reward content)
In summary , the things that make this game fun for me are new champs, which I cannot get and use anyway , and fun and rewarding content , which there is none currently available and the rewards of the content I have gone through have been drastically unrewarding. * champions we want to play with are unavailable * Content is not fun and rewards with RNG are unrewarding
I have 7 paths left in 6.4, but am forced to pause on exploration because of T2A and T5B overflow, which means I have to let revives and energy refills expire. Why are inventory limits for rank-up resources even a thing when most people have trash 6* champs? Nobody should have to face these arbitrary blockers in their progression. I see zero incentive to continue when the options are either explore Act 6 and use the overflowing resources on the 6* cyclops I'll pull, or just do nothing until I luck out and pull a good champ.

I have 15 paths left in 6.4 and have recently found that I am not incentivized to finish it because I’m tired of having to grind arena like crazy to get the units to do it. It’s only recently that I realized why 6.4 exploration sucks so much when it’s arguably the best chapter in the act and it’s because so many of the lanes are massive unit suckers and for FTP or mostly FTP players like me have to spend an enormous amount of time in arena just to complete a few paths. Example, last week I did three paths: Diss Track in 6.4.4 (which was pretty easy), Vivified in 6.4.5 (which was an absolute nightmare), and Pull/Selective Timestream (which was difficult because most of the defenders had specials that are impossible to fully dodge). Those three combined cost me 2,600 units, mostly on the Vivified path and on the 6.4.5 Hydra Adaptiod boss whose attack is 40k. I still have three paths left 6.4.5 and I’m really not looking forward to grinding out the units to do it again (though I have the three easiest paths left). A lot of the paths were not designed to be cleared without items, even if you are a skilled player and that’s a big issue. A lot of the paths, even if you play really well, you’re gonna have to revive.

This is me. 6 paths left in Act 6, all of them in 6.4 and I have a rule where I don’t attempt a path unless I have at least 400 units. It usually takes them all. I’m pretty much restricted to 5/65’s because the attack and health values are so high that R4’s can barely keep up, certainly not for a whole path.
I remember when I explored Act 5, I smashed out 5.3 and 5.4 in a week because I was good enough to only really have to spend on energy refills. I loved my time doing that, it’s some of the most fun I’ve had in the game
Act 6 is a slog. And it’s difficult, boring and unrewarding.
On a side note, who did you use for that diss track path, that’s the one I’m targeting next and I’m at a loss for who to use since I don’t have silver surfer
Alright where do I start...😅 1) rifts-> they’re worse than last year. Last year you could explore every rift before hand, getting lower level rewards and they didn’t have 100 6* shards, which is an absolute joke! And other than that they’re the same, over a full year and the rewards just got worse!!! Also why can’t they make every reward in rifts decent for instance 10-20 sig stones etc and not have very low Multiple amounts of shards. 2)cmm abyss fight, some people have spent hundreds on that fight and no compensation?!? When it was bugged all along! What baffles me is that they fix bugs that benefit the player base instantly but bugs that get them money they get fixed in there own time 3) acquisition of 5/6 * champs. For a start why are you putting unusable 6* champs in the pool, you miss scarlet witch out of the 5* pool because she’s too good, so why can’t you miss flacon etc out of the 6* as he’s unusable! Secondly getting featured champs have changed for the worse, you need to bring the old featured crystal back or at least update the new one!
Now obviously there’s a massive discussion to have on act 6/Aw/AQ etc but so many people have covered that perfectly I don’t think it’s necessary for me to go over it again.
Okay so i have a simple idea to make the champion acquisition from basic 5*/6* crystal more viable:
Make a new type of basic crystal and limit the pool to the champs that released or buffed in the last 3 years.
Excluding the latest champs from the last 3 months because of the featured crystals of course. This is roughly 80 champs out of 170+ which is less than half. These are reasonable odds at this point. And they can update the pool every 3 or 6 months like how they do it now. This is necessary considering the game is 5 and a half years old at this point. And it would save us from pulling a lot of bad champs that released in the first 2 years of the game.
And people who still want to acquire those old champs for collection purposes can still have the current basic crystal to try their luck.
I think it's fair to say that the number of replies on this thread shows how much people care about the game, and are invested in it whatever their level. I imagine many mobile devs could only dream of having such a big user base.
Some of the suggestions, like to Acts 6 and 7, would fix many issues for a significant subset of players, but boosting old champs first could arguably have the widest impact, benefiting all players. Just a Rating boost to all 2015 champions (barring Colossus and Hulkbuster) would be a start.
Hopefully we will get an answer soon on what can be done to improve the general player experience, accepting that there may be elements to this (staff time, parent company expectations, etc) that we aren't aware of.

I think a pure ratings boost to old champions would end up doing more harm than good unfortunately. They would still lack utility which would keep them behind the newer, better options. So ultimately people still won't really use them on attack but now they'd be more difficult on defense.

I suspect you may be right, there's not a lot which can be done about the lack of utility of some of the early champions. It might soften the blue of pulling a 5* or 6* Juggernaut or Iron Patriot somewhat though. It might also help tide players over until they get better champs.
The newer options may always be first but would be nice if the old champs could be a less than ideal but still acceptable second, and not just left on the bench for Arena.
I'm shocked to my core at the fact that AW Season 18 is just going on without any changes to rewards. It's absurd.
Just go to an alliance where wars are itemless. It makes war stress free, best decision I made when I switched alliances.
Well, my alliance (plat 3 tier 3) runs off-season item free (and I assume most alliances do the same). But running item free basically means 2 options: (1) only go up one side of the map in hopes that you'll have enough healthy champs to clear the minis/boss, or (2) go and try to take assigned lanes for practice, but with little to no hope of clearing the boss.
My issue with this act 7 beta, is its the same as act 6... The content is so champion specific, and you never know when you may land 1 of the champs you need to complete the content. It needs to be set up so that you can use more than 10 champs to beat it.
Yeah the RNG based progression feel really bad. Either You get the "required" champion and be able to move on or You stuck. Also 2weeks without response from Kabam i wonder if it will take 2 years to implement any solutions.
Is it though? I understand being stuck on a boss from not having the right champions, but unless a players done exploration on 6.1 and 6.2 they still have all of act 6 to chip away at doing whatever paths they can until they do have all the right champions to 100%.
Act 6 completion isn’t impossible and can be achieved relatively cheaply with some revives and units, which shouldn’t be a problem, unless players are spending them all on cav crystals, since units and items are much easier to come by now. I surprisinly got through act 6 completion with a handful of items, I dont even think I used units outside of energy refills.
What is it your all waiting hear? Initially this was never was about act 6, so if it has become about that for Kabam, Kabams going to need a lot of time to come up with a plan and that’s even if they’re planning to do anything at all, which I know most of you don’t want to hear.
The change if they make any to act 6, I’m more then certain won’t appease a majority of the players in here so what are you getting your hopes up for. When has Kabam ever come through for you, the community or any “protest” or threat of “mass exodus”? Most I heard was that they’re tweaking the champion boss fight and that’s all.
I understand that many have completed Act 6 100% using a minimum of items. and I suppose they must have a number of top performing champions for the sea like that. otherwise it is very difficult to complete act 6. I have been in the game from the beginning and the game somewhat more passively and without buying with money. I am already a cavallero and it cost me a lot to become one. first of all because of my bad luck with the crystals. Just in the last year I was able to obtain some good characters and it is there that I was able to obtain the title, added to many objects to complete the paths. nodes are very difficult if you don't have certain characters and the amount of attack and health of enemies and bosses is overwhelming. 400k health and 27k attack. only by blocking 4 or 5 times do you die and I think that only a select few have the great ability to intercept the entire fight without taking damage. Because if you intercept badly in a single combo, they'll kill you. and you start again and again, in combo 200 and the enemy with 10% health in 3 or 4 kicks. and you start again and you beat the first enemy on the brink of death and the second enemy kills you in the blink of an eye. and you start again and you spent 1 hour in 2 or 3 fights and you are helpless in the face of so much massive damage that you receive for equivalent exaggeration. I also believed that the mechanism of disadvantages is exaggerated, hemorrhages that in 5 or 6 seconds eliminate you, high voltage, poison, etc., etc. without having to resort to inventing more and more violent nodes. I think the fights should have suffered a little more life and less attack and the disadvantages should have been more balanced without having to be massive damage as it is now. with lower percentages or more applied to special attacks. that characters like corvus deal 6k damage and knock you out in 2 or 3 hits to a 5 * r5 character or domino kill you with a special attack 2 without having touched you throughout the fight and your health to the maximum, it is very very unfair and unbalanced. there are very very broken characters and others, or rather 70%, of very very useless characters.
It may seem never ending but this thread isn't useless. Yes, there's a wide variety of options and experiences which feed the posts on this thread but from their individual perspectives they are all valid.
Whilst I hope we hear something soon, there have been many issues raised in this thread. Discussing them all will take time, I'm sure. Deciding what can be done, and when it can be done, also can't be done without planning and probably management buy-in too. And if resource isn't freely available, other bodies of work would get put aside.
A token gesture may help while the discussions are going on, and updates that the discussions are going on. Also helpful may be an acknowledgement that x or y is an issue, even if nothing can be announced about it.
When has Kabam ever come through for you, the community or any “protest” or threat of “mass exodus”? Most I heard was that they’re tweaking the champion boss fight and that’s all.
To be fair, 12.0 was rolled out to massive pushback. Kabam's initial reaction was "It'll be fine, you'll get used to the new normal".
After some outrage and threat of a mass exodus, they did ultimately make some concessions:
More recently, the initial reaction to the She Hulk nerf was "we will not be issuing Rank Down Tickets for this change". After more massive pushback, they eventually saw the light and decided to issue Rand Down Tickets for She-Hulk. It took several weeks after the announced change to come to that decision:
The point is, it appears that prolonged outrage seems to be the only thing Kabam will listen to. I wish they would have more of a dialogue between developers and the community so it never gets to a threat of mass exodus, but that's not the situation Kabam wishes to have. Until they change it, this is the only card players can play.
So I'm a little slow I just watch Seatin's video of ACT 7 beta, is that what broke him, the Sabertooth and MODOCK fight? I dip my my toes into Act 6 saw I really don't want any part of that right now, so I'm working on getting Elders Bane.
The game is fun, but Kabam has taking the fun out of it with these nodes and all the useless champsthe amount of useless champs is almost as more frustrating as these ridiculous nodes, almost. Watching these leet players with dream team champs, playing with maxed out champs getting wrecked by these nodes. Where is the fun? I understand making the game challenging but there is a point where its just all a money grab.I'm a free to play person I'm glad I did not rush to complete Act 5! So i can take my time enjoy some almost reasonable game play before going into act 6. Someone at Kabam please listen make MCOC great again or at least enjoyable! Unit man is really i just don't have him in my roster!

Hopefully we will get an answer soon on what can be done to improve the general player experience, accepting that there may be elements to this (staff time, parent company expectations, etc) that we aren't aware of.
The newer options may always be first but would be nice if the old champs could be a less than ideal but still acceptable second, and not just left on the bench for Arena.
Trying to stay positive :-)
After some outrage and threat of a mass exodus, they did ultimately make some concessions:
We have heard you, we're making it right.
More recently, the initial reaction to the She Hulk nerf was "we will not be issuing Rank Down Tickets for this change". After more massive pushback, they eventually saw the light and decided to issue Rand Down Tickets for She-Hulk. It took several weeks after the announced change to come to that decision:
She Hulk Compensation
The point is, it appears that prolonged outrage seems to be the only thing Kabam will listen to. I wish they would have more of a dialogue between developers and the community so it never gets to a threat of mass exodus, but that's not the situation Kabam wishes to have. Until they change it, this is the only card players can play.
The game is fun, but Kabam has taking the fun out of it with these nodes and all the useless champs the amount of useless champs is almost as more frustrating as these ridiculous nodes, almost.
