They just need to give rank down tickets and move on. Because next month we have more champs coming, and then the month after that. All of these buffs are good for the game
Along with A commitment to hand out rank down tickets for any other future champ change where core utility is removed for no reason.
Rank down tickets are on a champ by champ basis. Every buff they have brought to us has been successful including the Hood buff. Sure there was a small group of players that were affected they can get their RD2, but that sets a dangerous precedent that every champ buffed or rebalanced deserves a rank down tickets. It was years before people stop screaming RDT for everything.
Most you tubers I have seen actually are enjoying the new hood, some are not, but there are a ton more people who just got present because hood can do more than he use to overall , outside of fate seal.
U say he can 'do more', but I just see him do different things. He now has a lot of healing and big burst damage. He got a lot better for general questing, but is he now a top counter for anything specific?
But even that isn't what bothers me. You know this is exactly why it is a good thing people where already protesting before the buff went live. I knew that when the actual buff would be there, the discussion would change to people arguing whether the old or the new version is better or more enjoyable.
It isn't about that. If you play the Hood now he is a different character. And for people who ranked him, maybe for specific reasons, getting a champion taken away and getting something else in return, isn't fun.
It's kinda like if tomorrow u ranked up a Stealth Spiderman because u like his slow mechanic, but today they take him away and give u a Nick Fury instead. And when u say: hey, I liked Stealthy! people respond: Before u complain: have u played Nick Fury, he is actually better.. He might be, but u liked and lost Stealthy, had a specific use for ranking him and it wasn't your own choice to switch him for another champion.
If given the option, I would possibly (in my roster) rank him down. But I would still do so reluctantly, I would much rather see Hood get more of his old kit back with some added damage.

I don’t remember saying all champIon changes should result in RDTs... Oh that’s right, it’s because I didn’t. I said when core utility is removed like in this case here with hood.
There are people upset because civil warrior lost his AAR.
Angela lost her ability to not get her buffs nullified
Hood lost his ability to fate seal
Mags lost his SP3
OML lost his passive buff
It is part of the game, you signed up for that when you agreed to their terms, so did I. Champs get buffed , champs get rebalances, it’s what allows us to come on the forums and have this discussion. A mid tier player with 2 6* champs will really benefit from this rework. It affected some of those mid tier players , but now they have a champ that can take them through more content. Yes he lost the fate seal, but he gained much more. If you aren’t happy with the buff , the best you can do is Rank down your hood if they provide tickets , which they have no obligation to.
It’s either we have a champion pool with over 230 champs who are just arena fodders or just let the game die , because people don’t want champs to change. It just doesn’t work like that, anywhere!
A meta can’t be created where only 6-7 champs are at the top. Hood solved a couple niche problems , yes I admit that but now he is viable everywhere. I loved hood before the buff, and still do. With as many champions in the game they have to bring the bottom to the middle . Hood could hardly ever trigger rage nodes because his damage was so low and getting out damaged by 3* champs.
At this point Kabam can give you three options .
Option 1 .) RDT to take a champ back to a lower tier and reinvest their resources.
Option 2.) You can enjoy the new champ .
Option 3.) you get pushed out of the game and quit and never look back( which always is a healthy choice for us all )
Bonus option: They throw a fate seal on the SP3 and make you sacrifice damage for utility.

He's still ruined. He can't be used in what people ranked him up for pre-nerf.
If someone has never really invested in Hood, the new Hood appears to be better for them. I don't see any evidence so far that the specific complaints about specific use cases somehow magically didn't happen: he will be less useful for some of the use cases he was specifically good at before.
The people who like Hood now have to decide if it was worth taking Hood1.0 away from the players who liked him just to get a Hood2.0 they personally like better.
Or give them RDTs.
RDTs give people back the catalysts they spent on a champ, but it doesn't give them back the champ, or their time investment, or replace the option they lost with a different option if they didn't have one.
RDTs are a reasonable way to deal with the situation of having to change a champion out of necessity, and wanting to minimize the loss of investment. They aren't a mechanism to stop caring about what's being changed.
Exactly what I expected to happen. People using his burst to get views on their youtube channel like seagulls gunning for french fries at the beach, lmao.
Most people who ranked him did so to deal with buffs when they ran the ghost trinity; he sucks at that now. As a raw damage dealer, he's so far behind the headliners that I have no idea why they're so afraid of giving him Fate Seal.
Regardless of buff quality and player opinion on the changes to Hood, I think that objectively there are two main points that this wave of buffs has brought to light. The first is that these buffs are not specifically just for the champs at the very bottom, as many would argue that Angela, Hood, and Masacre were in far less of a need to be buffed than other champs, even though they would eventually need to be buffed. This shows that any mid-tier champ is up for grabs, including those that people rank and use for specific purposes. The second point is that any of these mid-tier champs can have significant pieces of their core kit removed for the purpose of adding shiny new mechanics and changing the overall uses of said champ. While yes, there will be lots of buffs where champs lose some small abilities, the point is that when it comes to these mid-tier champs, many of these are champs that may have been ranked for niche uses by many players and thus changing these uses essentially makes the resources used null and void. It is a very bad precedent to set, and makes me nervous for ranking any of these champs because in a couple months time, the reason I ranked them up could be taken away from them and then force me to find another option.

And I think most people definitely have a lot of problems with that second point of yours. Even if a champion is buffed, they should at least keep the core of their abilities. When buffing a champion, the best way to do so is to add new mechanics that bring them back into relevancy without having to completely change the core mechanics that the character already possesses.
I pretty much agree completely with you. The 90% chance to miss non-contact hits was extremely valuable and so was his buff control, especially if you brought him with Ghost and needed it for fights she can't do.
Don't get me wrong, this new Hood is cool and all. I like some of his abilities and there's no denying his damage is better than before. But overall, I'd use this Hood a lot less to be completely honest.
He's gone from a really solid utility champ with niche but very cool uses to an above average damage dealer with some nice sustainability. But that can be said for half the champs in the game.
He needed a tune-up much more than this update. All they needed to do was let him parry while invisible and increase his overall damage output and he would've been golden, but NOoOOOooo, Kabam just had to overcomplicate it.
Unless I'm missing something, his damage isn't even all that great. Compared to before, yeah, but not compared to current meta.
The bullet juggling is still a bad imo, but more manageable than expected. Even with the effort, he still doesn't enter the ranks of what I consider damage-dealers.
They really should not have messed with his original core utility, now he just feels like an entirely different champion. I actually found the bullet detonation to be a really fun mechanic, but the utility really shouldn't have been sacrificed for that. Pretty sure what happened is a designer came up with the bullets mechanic, put it in, decided this Hood was too op to be released, and stripped the original stuff to make way for the new abilities. That shouldn't be how champion buffs are handled; when improving a product, designers should be looking at the advantages of the old model, what the consumers liked about it, then make improvements on top of that, instead of removing all the original stuff that people liked and coming up with something new. Although there are new features, the product has lost the original advantages that motivate people to buy it. It's the same for Hood; before the buff it was clear that Hood players were more than content with what he brings to the table (reliable nullify, fate seal, phasing projectiles). Now that's all gone and with it the original value that people ranked up Hood for. The Kabam developers have been really silent since the buff notes have been released as well. I see plenty of criticism and suggestions these past few days, yet it has not been addressed properly. The release of this champion update today gives me an impression that they are trying to push this out as quickly as possible and not make changes to Hood regarding the community's criticisms. The Hood update should really be reversed for now until they can come up with a better solution. Heck, just throw the bullet mechanic on a new champ in the future and keep Hood as he was. If Hood stays the same and more champion buffs like this come out, who knows what's next? Give KM stronger damage but stripping away his true strike and indestructible? Give Loki stronger damage but stripping away buff steal? I really hope this is not how champion buffs are approached in the future.
Alright, I’ve had some time to play around with my R3 now...
Honestly, once you get used to the bullet bs, Hoods buff is not that bad...
I’m even fine without the AAR cuz that’s not what I used him for anyway...
But, not being able to instantly remove pre existing buffs is pretty huge. Staggers can only catch so much. The fate seal gave him the ability to remove buffs they had at start, and take care of anything that slipped thru staggers. So there will definitely be a few fights where that can’t be relied on...
I don’t feel leaving the fate seal in would have made him “OP”, and again, it was part of his “CORE” utility. It would have just put him on par with the “best”...
Overall, I’d say he’s better, but in the instance where that utility was the difference, it will be very noticeable and missed...
I have never seen them reverse a buff. Tweak yes Reverse never
Till now, it is correct. Let's see what happens in next few days. Even if nothing happens with this, no guarantee it will not happen so long as the game carries on.
