Here's the reason why Kabam released these objectives: people moaning and whining about side-quests being too monotonous, or too hard, too much energy needed, or too randomised etc etc etc.
They then take away side-quests and bombard us with even worse "objectives" to replace side-quests.
We get more upset and annoyed with these, and gladly welcome back side-quests instead of these objectives lol.
Honestly though, these objectives along with the summer event + all the bugs have just combined into one long arduous summer (for the northern hemisphere). Luckily for us southern hemisphere folk all this muck occurred in our winter when things were already bleak, and will end as we approach our summer
I get that it's not a job, but let's go with that example. Johnny Coworker stays late, works extra hours, and puts in more time than me because I have a family and other things to be home for. Should I get paid the same amount as Johnny? The answer is no. People who put more time and effort in earn more. That's not a design flaw. It's called getting what you put into it.
@ItsDamien explained it exactly
What I don't want is for me to be locked out of quests but I didn't climb up this mountain of chores.
What sort of design locks fun stuff behind chores? It makes no sense.
If you don`t grind arena thou, I can see your 'pain'.
If I were Kabam, I will lock these objectives or side quest to progression level like I mentioned before. I believe some are okay with the grind (esp newer players and growing accounts)
Example (wild and a long stretch but just a thought)
- Cavs can have the objective grind thing / it's own rewards or same rewards as TB
- TBs a less grindy objective, maybe a map kind of quest with paths gated or something / it own rewards or same as Cavs
- Now, they can make it such that depending on how the rewards are structured, if you wanna do the other titles' you can have a pass i.e TBs to do Cavs and vice versa...a pass of just $0.99, it's moreso for those that are okay with the grind to offer something small for the rewards over there.
I get that not everyone has the time and don't find this fun, but I like completing grinds like these. The objectives are excessive to some, but not as tedious as asking to finish the fight using a skill champ with a light attack. I find those more annoying than these generic ones.
Ten fights/day or 100/week is no big deal for me personally, since I have a more flexible work schedule and can do a little Arenas here and there, but I really get the frustration of it. And arenas, are no fun, getting the same battles over and over again because, don't know, the ai system decides I have to fight against King Groot-Fisk-Green Goblin 5-6 times in a row, if you say it is, you re lying.
