Congrats on the progress, now you are exactly where I am in story, although I've been playing for 8 months. I have yet to start 6.4 because I don't have any coldsnap immune for Iceman. Anything I should be wary of in the chapter? Do I need some boss counters?
For iceman one good tip I have is if you have Nick Fury as a 5 or 6*, bring him with one of Iron Man classic, IMIW, Civil Warrior or Punisher 2099. They all have a synergy with nick that the first time a team mate is inflicted with a coldsnap in a fight they go debuff immune. It means you can take iceman with literally any champion.
As for specific boss counters, if you throw a screenshot of your roster I can give advice on best options for each boss if you'd like and as for which path to go, I'll let you know when I've done 6.4 and figured out the best paths lol
Congrats, @BitterSteel your 3 month old alt has officially surpassed my main
I really need to get that damned CAIW taken care of.
This made me laugh ngl.
If I'm honest, just grind out some revives and plough through it. If my run has proved anything it's that preparation with items can cover a whole host of issues you may have with counters. Grab a high crit rate champ/crit damage champ and go at him, the health pool isn't that high.
What options do you have?
I had a few revives and about 280 units when I got to the boss fight yesterday. Team is Doom, Angela, Torch, AA, and Spider Ham. I'm using only Spam for the boss. Got him to about 50% before I ran out of everything. I can get the taunt on and get him to throw specials, but the crit only damage node is making it difficult to chip away at him without getting clipped. Gifted myself 5 revives from an alt, going to try again once my phone gets charged.

Yeah honestly my advice for this guy is brute force, the crit node with glancing makes it such a hard time to get damage off that you're unlikely to solo even with taunt champs unless you have She Hulk with her huge damage, or Sparky with his great crit rate.
I mean take someone like CGR with massive crits https://youtu.be/gbVoXb6_93k Here's an example I found, fully boosted and suicides R3 obviously, but a rank 5 could easily take off 50% in one go with some crit RNG (which is still mitigated by his great crit chance). For this fight, IMO brute force > counter

I took an r4 Starky in for my first go. I could not for the life of me get the taunt to do anything useful, so I switched to Spam. I have an r4 CGR as well, but I'm really stuck between starting over or just getting through.

Iceman - right now I can only see one option for him, King Groot would shrug off the coldsnap at the start of the fight. Unfortunately it’s going to be a long fight with him since you can’t poison iceman, and if you don’t have the regen it may cost you a few revives.
Thor Rags - Magneto will crush him pretty easily
Darkhawk - magneto will crush him too
Captain marvel - any mystic champ can deal with her, she will take a percentage of her health as damage each time she gains charges. Longshot could be your best option since he does incinerate damage which is energy, so will give her even more charges
Adaptoid - stealthy looks like your best option here, use the web foam pre fight and just use one sp2, then refresh the long duration slow and use sp3 to reload.
Grandmaster - this fight is more about how you play than who you bring, but some options are better than others. Doom is great, with his tankiness and ability to complete all challenges. Hit monkey can deal big damage in the wounded phases. My advice here is kinda just look at YouTube videos and make sure you understand the phases
My advice would probably be wait to get a better counter for iceman if I’m honest, it’ll be pretty costly for you to push through him. You have options for all the others though! and there are plenty of shrug/coldsnap immune or resistant champs to choose from
Right now in the incursions tab you could target a few of them
Stun Crystal - Human Torch is immune, Sasquatch is resistant
True accuracy - Aegon can be ramped up and shrug off
Prowess - Emma frost is immune in diamond form
Incinerate - human torch is immune, mephisto is immune
Energy resistance - storm X is 100% resistant
And there are other fantastic champs in each Crystal if you miss one of those, who can definitely be useful.

Killmonger works. Takes longer but with decent play save revs due to his indestructible being able to rank the special 3
Nice run through of 6.3. Your luck on this account recently has been absolutely insane. It’s also crazy how many people are following this thread now. I had 25 notifications this morning all from this thread. It’s cool to see the following that it’s gathered, and I’m now thinking if I make an alt, I’ll start a thread tracing it like this. Keep up the good work, man.

@BitterSteel@SpideyFunko thank you both for your help. I have KM, but I haven't really got the hang of him. I decided to just go nuts with Spam and unitman my way through. I managed to acquire 8 revives, and he is now at 7%. Tomorrow I'll grind some more and finish him off.

I'll just wait some time then, or if I get tired of waiting I might farm a lot of revives and potions and just bull my way through. Thanks a lot for the info!
I revisited your first post which said you can get thronebreaker with the worst rng by doing certain content. Some of your t5cc has come from side quests and it’s possible you get really lucky and only pull mutant which would let you get a cat without doing all of said content. If you form a cat without completing all content listed are you stopping the challenge or are you going to do all the content you listed to show people even if you have bad luck its possible? Simply out of curiosity (and maybe I want it to last longer)
Also, won't torch work for darkhawk? Ig the block damage might be a bit much
He has lionheart so I can't reverse his healing without taking a ton of damage. I believe pre fight gets around it, but it's a lot of pressure for a 4/55 champ to take. Maybe if torch is R5 when I get there I'll reconsider. I guess Colossus could finish off the fight too with some revives
If im not wrong his nova flames also reverse healing.
You could try only baiting sp1, though the black damage would definitely be rough
Either way, ur progress so far is great so it doesnt matter too much if you take time to build the roster up
Yeah they do reverse healing too, but Lionheart only triggers when reversed by a debuff. That's why YJ passive reversal or Magneto's magnetised doesn't trigger it.

@Ace2319 Yeah it's a fair point, I did set out in this challenge to prove that TB wasn't hard to get. If I got super lucky and finished earlier than if I'd had different RNG it wouldn't be much of a point to have made. The whole point of the challenge is to show that you can guarantee yourself TB even with bad RNG.
Since 7.3 dropped and changed the challenge a little, there are now a few different ways to guarantee TB as there are 6 25% selectors, one in 6.4 completion, one in 7.1 exploration, one in 7.2 exploration, one in 7.3 completion and 4 in 7.3 exploration
1) Get 4 you've guaranteed TB
2) Get to 25% in each class (150% total) and then complete 3 of the places to get a selector
3) Get to 50% in each class (300% total) and then complete 2 of the places to get a selector
So I think the best way to measure when I can guarantee TB is when I meet one of those scenarios. That would mean that I'm basically simulating the worst luck possible where I pulled the least ideal class with each opening. You mention side quests however, but they will definitely count for the challenge. Basically, anywhere I get T5CC which is a normal part of the game (Calendars, Side quest, special events) will count towards my total. (I only don't include gifting because it's just a spend event).
I currently have 85% across all my 6 classes, so this basically means I'll carry on completing content as normal, but when I get to 150% across my 6 classes, if I have 3 of the places remaining, I will go and do them and then the challenge is over. If I get to 150% across my classes and I only have 2 remaining (say I'd already explored 7.1), then I will wait for 300% across my classes and do the remaining 2. And if worst comes to worst, I'll just complete all 4 places and have guaranteed it that way.
What's looking like the easiest way to do this is to go for the second method of 150%, by completing act 6 for 25%, 7.1 for 25% and 7.2 for 25% - that means I'll get an extra 75% and have 160% total across my classes. Then, I go for 7.1 and 7.2 exploration then 7.3 completion. That way, I don't need to explore any variants. If I decide to go for 3rd method then I likely will need to explore variants or 6.1.
Another option is just rush to 7.3 and explore it, but it all depends whether 7.1 and 2 exploration seems worse than 7.3 exploration.
The odds are heavily in favour of me getting a fully formed Cat before getting to any of those scenarios. But if I get to that point, I won't R3 the champ until I complete the challenge having simulated the worst possible luck. Basically, there will be a point where I have the means to R3 a champion but I'll keep going until I've completed the challenge.
Hey I know this a bit late bittersteel but any advice on the 6.2.5 mordo boss? I’ll use colossus for the path but the boss is the hard part.
Falcon with mr fantastic suppression/petrify debuffs could be a good shout.
Hercules as a backup would be good for kamikaze as Desi suggested. Yellowjacket if you get one heavy off will be able to parry heavy by slowing Mordo, plus there’s a petrify on sp2 to reverse power.
My best advice is grind out some revives and stick up, then go for it!
Sorry if there’s disappointment from this but there won’t be an update until I have some time to sit down and write it. I haven’t done much in-game in any case, I’ve been grinding potions mainly. So you’re not missing out on much.
I have a deadline due in the next few weeks for my masters, so a lot of my time is dedicated to that. As long as progress goes well with that, I’ll be able to put some time aside to focus on a write up here!

Was expecting the weekly dose of ministeel. But your pace. All the best for your masters

I know! This sort of time is when I usually start writing the update, but a tweak in the program for my masters resulted in a whole heap of problems (imagine moving a picture on Microsoft word, yeah - that bad). Unfortunately I have a meeting tomorrow where I'm updating my supervisor on the project and showing them what the program can do, so I'm currently on damage control to get it back to normal.

Week 16 and Week 17 Overview Two weeks of progress, the 4 month mark and new pulls! Lets get into it.
As I mentioned before, I'm pretty busy with my masters at the moment, meaning most progress this week is low level stuff I've been doing in between writing my report.
I began Week 16 by getting a 6* from the holiday calendar which pushed me over the 10k mark, at this point you all know some of the filthy luck I've been having so I had 0 pressure on myself to get a good pull. I ended up pulling....
Yeah, I'm really happy with that to be fair. Makes my Magik/Dormammu Killer a bit better, not that he needs the dupe, but a bit of fury/regen isn't too bad. The main prize is some ISO, some sweet, T5-5K-shiny-beautiful ISO. Thank the lords.
I did some incursions and managed to form a 5* from the top zone bonuses and buy one from the store. Opening them, I saw his face again....
He is everywhere, I cannot escape him.
But then.. I pulled
Which made me super happy I had the tech ISO, a villain which is perfect, he can help me with Variant 3 completion which will be nice, also variant 2 if I decide to go in there. @wererorm@Wearwormy@Werewrym will be happy I've decided to rank him up, clunky animations, short dash back and all. More seriously, I'm enjoying this challenge because it's letting me rank up champions I wouldn't usually have ranked up on my main, and giving sentinel a chance to shine here may change my mind for my main!
I also grinded a lot of Act 3 to get some revives stockpiled!
Moving on, the three GGC crystals from the calendar gave me..
Which led to..
Happy with the essentially free 5*, and the 20 sigs on a tech champ are actually really cool for the future, along with 2.5k 6* shards which are awesome. I'd actually rank Chavez if not for having Doc Oc to deal with passive power gain, I think she's a really valuable champ for progressing players.
I began the UC and Cav completion attempt. UC went smoothly as expected, but Cav threw up a couple problems. Quest 1 was fine, Sentinel (now levelled and ranked to R2), Hulkbuster and Doc Oc destroyed with the tech global. Ronin went down easy with Colossus.
Quest 2 again was fine, I discovered Guilly is actually a beast for it. I'm sure you've seen videos floating around but if you haven't - each time a mystic gains health they power drain the opponent and gain a fury. Guilly consistently heals so she keeps the opponent at 0 power the whole match and can heavy spam and special them in the corner for huge damage. Colossus, Doc and Torch took care of sentinel boss.
Quest 3 was where my troubles began, I didn't have any good cosmic options. My highest ranked champ was a 4/40 4* Aarkus. So I decided now was the time to start ranking Venom up. He will carry my cosmic champs for Cav EQ (He also works perfectly for the other class months - buffed up and armour break), he'll be great for Villain variant , act 6 and beyond. I won't use the cosmic gem though, that's being saved for a champ who needs their sig.
I decided to come back to Cav EQ later once Venom was ranked, and turned to the side quest week 1. Everything went down without a fuss, the quest wasn't super hard but the rewards were great! Unfortunately I struck out with all 4* from the legendary nexus AND the legendary crystal, 4 4*s on 80% odds for a 4* what rigged bad luck. I did get some nice ISO from it though.
I also noticed that there is a 5* nexus and 5* awakening gem from week 4 of the side quest though! A skill for Hawkeye, (already have science), Mystic for Sorcerer I could do with a domino counter though I would want to hold on in case I pulled Tigra, cosmic I hold onto, and a tech would be great for Sentinel/War Machine.
Moving onto Week 17, Gifting rewards came out! I got 26-50% in alliance rewards (4k 4* shards, 3k 5* shards some T4CC/4B) and 26-50% in solo (7.5k 5* Shards, some T5B, T2A and a 10% Selector for T5CC). As I've mentioned before, I'm not counting this towards the challenge as a once per year spend event, I claimed science as my lowest class, and if science were my first formed I'll just go to an extra 10% afterwards.
As for the rewards, I got a couple new 4*'s (Apoc and Kingpin, what a duo) but no ISO
The 5* was in the same vein...
While clearly an amazing pull, I won't be ranking her unless there's a serious road block. I don't personally find the idea of just mashing through everything with ghost to be super fun. Good to have her as a backup if needed, but no immediate benefit for the roster.
I opened a couple more 4* crystals and firstly pulled this legend
And also got my first dupe from a 4* Crystal, which I was incredibly excited about for some reason, Luke Cage (while I was watching Luke Cage season 2..)
Continuing the science theme, I opened the side quest Cavs and pulled..
Yes, for some reason side quest cavs are intent on giving me Spidey's rogue gallery as 6*s - Green Goblin and now Rhino. Personally, I think it's all hyping up to Iron Patriot as a 6*…
I'd been working on UC exploration for the last few days and was getting nearer to the end, exploration of a chapter let me open a 5* crystal
I have sabretooth and sasquatch now, but I'm not sure if they're worth ranking. I mean, do I really need another huge damage dealer? I feel like Colossus kinda covers that ground.
Using rank up materials and ISO I'd gathered, I now had Venom and Apocalypse as a respectable rank and pushed through Cav EQ
Quest 3 - Venom destroyed the path, I went for a noded one because of 1) enemies, and 2) feats of power meant I could regen with Venom. Sabretooth was handled by Guilly, Torch, Sentinel and Doc Oc.
Quest 4 - Skill quest. Hawkeye, Hit Monkey and Elsa 4* handled this quest. Hawkeye is a beast, just getting to Sp3 with a few furies from the global KOd most opponents. The other two handled bleed immunes. Torch got the one shot against Juggernaut.
Quest 5 - Science, Torch carried me here with Doc Oc and Mr Fantastic synergy. Knocking opponent down with a power sting applied puts a petrify on them, so he was a great option. Sauron was destroyed by Colossus and Sentinel both with nice damage from heavy attacks.
Quest 6 - Mutant, Made Colossus a horseman and just went crazy. Toad went down easily with Colossus and a big Sp2.
Completing this got me 100 shards away from a 6*, so I hopped into incursions and did a run which pushed me over a 5* crystal from the store, and from shards too. So we finish this overview with a nice little opening
5* Number 1
Honestly it's like the game knew I said I didn't want to do an abyss run. I honestly could rank 5 Aegon, save up 100 or so revives and become TB in a months time. Aegon, Torch, Sorcerer/Morningstar, Heimdall and one more. It's a pity it's not in the (arbitrary) rules of my challenge.
5* Number 2
HahAhaHa I can't see anyone (before anyone else can make that joke). Not much use unless he's on a buff spot in the near future.
Onto the big one, the 6*. Again, off the back of some really good luck I'm not too fussed on the outcome here.
But overall, hell of a pull. I have a rank 3 Psylocke on my main, and as @MegaSkater67 will attest, I am a huge fan. With a 5* Apoc i am so hyped to have Psylocke as a 6*. I couldn't quite rationalise investing in a 5* Psylocke that I pulled a few weeks back, but a 6* pre levelled up at a rank 3 5* level is fantastic. She's such an underrated champ, and she works perfectly in conjunction with Doc Oc. One counters passive power gain, the other counters combat power gain. I'm so, so happy to have pulled her. Now I just need a Spidey 2099!
Notable Pulls 6* Gladiator Hulk Awakening 6* Psylocke 6* Rhino 5* Sentinel 5* Iron Patriot Sig 40 5* America Chavez 5* Ghost 5* Aegon awakening 5* Drax
Notable Rank Ups Venom to rank 2 Venom to rank 3 Apocalypse to rank 2 Apocalypse to rank 3 Sentinel to rank 2 Sentinel to rank 3 Levelled 6* Guillotine to level 25
Content Completed UC Completion UC Exploration Chapter 1 and 2 Cavalier EQ Completion Cavalier EQ Chapter 1 exploration Side Quest Week 1 and 2 100%
Most Wanted Champions See last week, priorities are the same
T5CC Tracker The only T5CC I've pulled is from gifting rewards, so unchanged from last time except for science. I should be getting some from the next couple of weeks of the side quest, and Cav EQ is something I hope to explore this month if possible.
Plan for Next Week I likely won't be updating you guys for another couple of weeks, I have my deadline coming up, so gonna focus on that.
But in regards to the account, I'll be using up my energy to 100% UC and give Cav EQ a bit of a go, I'll likely do an incursion run or two, and I'll focus on further ranking and levelling Sentinel, Apoc and Venom. No major content pushes, I'm saving that for later on in the month once I've given Cav EQ a good go. There is potential for a Villain Variant push at the end of the month though!
I’m also level 50 now so I can R2 6*s! Not useful right now, just because of ISO investment but it’s nice for future.
At the end of Week 17, this is what the roster looks like

I'm going to attempt 6.4.6 in a few days. I will take the cosmic path, using Doom (although the tenacity node looks nasty). I should be able to do the whole lane with him, so I have to decide who else to put on the team to fight the GM. Cap IW is decent for that fight, so he is in. But I am not so sure about others. Hyperion might be good, but he's at r4, and does he do anything in that fight that Doom can't?

As for specific boss counters, if you throw a screenshot of your roster I can give advice on best options for each boss if you'd like and as for which path to go, I'll let you know when I've done 6.4 and figured out the best paths lol
I mean take someone like CGR with massive crits
https://youtu.be/gbVoXb6_93k
Here's an example I found, fully boosted and suicides R3 obviously, but a rank 5 could easily take off 50% in one go with some crit RNG (which is still mitigated by his great crit chance). For this fight, IMO brute force > counter
Thank you for the kind words, I'm really enjoying this challenge!
If you have some spare time take a look, thank you!
If you form a cat without completing all content listed are you stopping the challenge or are you going to do all the content you listed to show people even if you have bad luck its possible? Simply out of curiosity (and maybe I want it to last longer)
1)
Get 4 you've guaranteed TB
2)
Get to 25% in each class (150% total) and then complete 3 of the places to get a selector
3)
Get to 50% in each class (300% total) and then complete 2 of the places to get a selector
I have a deadline due in the next few weeks for my masters, so a lot of my time is dedicated to that. As long as progress goes well with that, I’ll be able to put some time aside to focus on a write up here!
Looking forward to the next one!
Overview
Two weeks of progress, the 4 month mark and new pulls!
More seriously, I'm enjoying this challenge because it's letting me rank up champions I wouldn't usually have ranked up on my main, and giving sentinel a chance to shine here may change my mind for my main!I also grinded a lot of Act 3 to get some revives stockpiled!
Unfortunately I struck out with all 4* from the legendary nexus AND the legendary crystal, 4 4*s on 80% odds for a 4* what
riggedbad luck. I did get some nice ISO from it though.I also noticed that there is a 5* nexus and 5* awakening gem from week 4 of the side quest though!

T5CC Tracker
The only T5CC I've pulled is from gifting rewards, so unchanged from last time except for science. I should be getting some from the next couple of weeks of the side quest, and Cav EQ is something I hope to explore this month if possible.
Plan for Next Week
I likely won't be updating you guys for another couple of weeks, I have my deadline coming up, so gonna focus on that.
