What the heck!? We can only use two freaking AW potions over the course of 2 weeks!? Otherwise we’re forced to spend units!? Are you out of your minds? We heal up to full health in every fight for AW. You’ve got a 2 potion purchase limit for a 14 day period!?
Change it back now! You’re absolutely out of touch with this game and the community if you thought that was gonna fly.
But this is like charging customers a large fee before they could enter a store and start browsing. It alienates anyone who's not a massive spender and literally inverts their main business model. F2p just became pay to play. Is this where we're going?
Very well put. I also spend on deals when I think the deal is beneficial to me. I like spending on these deals as they help me rank my champs or pad my roster. The idea that I have to pay money to play a game mode is disturbing to me. Seems like a very slippery slope where they'll require cash transactions to play other game modes.
I've been trying to understand the thought process behind this decision since it was announced. This isn't motivating me to play AW and buy deals that would benefit my AW champs. It actually has the opposite effect as it is disincentivizing me to participate in this game mode.
I really can't wrap my head around the glory potion decision, I am the leader of a P2 ally and we have a good 15 to 20 players ready to quit war and at this level that means the game. For a lot of end-game players War is all we have left. We are now looking at 10$ to heal an r4 champ because we spent our loyalty after our first fight healing. This has to be some kind of joke right? Please let us decide what we want to do with our glory, we are big boys we can make those decisions ourselves.
It’s pretty clear that no one who works for Kabam actually plays this game seriously.
You can tell that by changing the glory store potions to alliance quest only is not very well received, and it’s hard to swallow that you guys as a company didn’t see that coming, because I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn’t do this on purpose just to force the use of units on potions (even though there’s strong confidence that is exactly what is taking place here). That’s how you are being perceived. Real talk
You guys took a system that wasn’t broken, and broke it. I can understand keeping loyalty and war together and alliances quest and glory together. But the price difference is quite extensive along with the limits in place. With massive health pools now in war and aq and the potion amount not changing, its hard to understand why these decisions are made at the top.
The prices in the glory store for potions are good. Loyalty are horrid. Please Focus your change there. And for the love of god, please add % life based health potions. 10% & 25% of max health would be exactly what the community needs.
Thats absolutely ridiculous - i cant believe what my eyes see.
Kabam probably burry their most fun and competitive game mode and made it playable for only massive p2p Player.
What are you thinking kabam, that everyone who is playing AW can afford minimun of 800 units to heal one k.o.ed Champion? What the heck is going on in your minds? I mean, u neither need a calculator too see how disproportionate this is.
Im very sad to See that game mode dying After there are no More compensation packages in the near future.
This says that there will be T5CC for cavalier and uncollected but I don’t see any in the the store atm. These def need to be added for Cav players asap.
@Kabam Miike The above is correct because the only time us, Cavalier players, can even get a chance of getting some T5CC is either 4th of July or Cyber Monday. You guys made a mistake by including the announcement that Cavalier players will be getting access to T5CCs on a more regular basis in the Glory Store. Unfortunately, rather than holding up to your word, regardless of it being a mistake, when you know that most of gaming community saw that post, you decided to quickly edit that post and pretend that no one saw it. I seriously hope that all the contact creators make mention of this action.
I already have at least 1 rank three 6* champion, though a second would be great but I ask this question: How are other players going to get the T5CCs needed in order to get their rank three 6*s for Thronebreaker?
We’re making a few changes to the Loyalty Store which are intended to go hand in hand with the Glory Store update coming with AQ Season 9.5. We’re looking to let players get more access to the AW specific potions,
We’re reducing the store reset from once every 2 weeks to once a week.
1. 5* nexus crystal in Platinum 2-4 rewards - ?? Wth. Make it a 6* basic or something... 5* are worthless. 2. Loyalty for AW potions - ?? 20k... facepalm..
"Replaced Alliance Healing Potions and Revives with Alliance Quest Healing potions and Revives. Prices remain the same as equivalent."
This is ridiculous Kabam. You have made it harder for all players in this game with this update. Limiting how many AW potions you get and not only that we only acquire them via loyalty. This is the stupidest thing I have ever see. If you don't fix this, make it better, and/or reverse to where we can buy AW potions in the glory store too. Then you will be seeing a drastic downfall in game play. This needs to be fixed.
If war is cheaper, like it is during compensation, you get more engagement from players who would otherwise ignore it. That means more players ranking for war, chasing defenders and attackers, and buying rankup material.
It it also introduces another cash cow that's tied to alliances...prestige. Buying sigs, chasing prestige champions they would normally never need, and being obligated to buy the biggest offers of the year.
Maybe I'm just a monday morning QB that doesn't know gaming or business, but alliance events should be affordable with a reasonably low barrier to entry. Players are dying to spend on it indirectly, shakedowns for potions is just bad business.
Wonderfully written, having seen kt1 post on YouTube this morning it's a cash grab certainly, 2 potions for alliance quest and very expensive loyalty heath pots is a way to draw people away from war , which is the best part of the game. Having that dictated by who has the biggest credit card or trust fund does not incorporate skill. Most have r3 champs now work that out how much you will have to spend to heal champs. I have told my alliance not to use money for war this is not controversy considering less than 20% of my alliance buys units most have the unit card and sigil but many dont buy units. So we will just diminish from war sad but true
Over 5 years i have seen lots of not great decisions, and lots of cool ones. The potions have been a horror show for way too long in every game mode. This was a very poor choice. This hurts everyone all at once without any notice that this could even come. There is no goid rational to this. This literally opened a larger can of worms. You could have left those 6k pots alone and none of this would have haappened but someone decided to dress this in buffed rewards but every decision for aw was horrible. Aq is aweful aw is ok but attack tactics are a joke and it seems like the company is hell bent on making it harder and harder. This is my last aq cycle. Im done. I let my alliance know last week it was coming. I gave tons of time and money to this game. And in my final weeks the stress of being in a competitive alliance with a job and family led to bitter memories. Im so excited to quit. With this announcement you validated every instinct i had about quitting. To everyone considering it. Just do it. The less i play the better my qol is in the real world. I wish all you summoners the best and hope that kabam come around for those that play.
Cut one 0 of the price and make the reset 1day instead of 1week. Easy fix. Or increase daily loyalty to 10k and war rewards to 50k+. Over 7 years of playing i accumulated 2mil loyalty. That would probably last me 1 season if they keep it this way.
Think its time to nerf the competitive aspect of AW. Is unnecessary with the introduction of BattleGrounds as well.
Make it a casual game mode.
War is literally a competition.
If it wasn't I wouldn't say to make it a casual game mode.
If people are so reliant on potions then clearly something is wrong with it. It just goes all back to the "whoever is able to spend most money on it wins" meta. Would be much easier to fix the problem by its base
Yeah, none of the top 3 alliances this season "spend the most". This is the dumbest oldest trope that's continually spouted by people that don't even have the slightest but of experience with AW competitively
Exactly, I’m not in them but I’ve spoken to plenty who are. The amount of skill and organisation that goes into planning out and taking each fight with almost 0 deaths cannot be bought. You need to be skilled and it needs to be planned.
Not everything is P2W just because there’s a leaderboard.
This is just unknown or lost on so many. It obviously doesn't apply to me personally but the fact that AW is still a totally viable mode to be competitive in as f2p or at the very worst a VERY low spender has always made one of the more "fair" competitive aspects of the game.
I've placed in top 3 in AW twice personally, once with 4loki and with SSx, and neither alliance were anywhere near the top of the spending alliances comparatively. That's not saying that either were remotely fully f2p alliances bc that's not remotely true. However on a member by member comparison they're not even close to the biggest spending alliances (even if myself and a few others skew the averages).
A change like this will flat out eliminate the possibility of this being a realistic possibility. Alliances like SSx, 4loki, GT40, NewN, etc... ,just won't be able to be genuinely competitive regularly without gutting their member base which I doubt any of them want to do. That seems like such a poor shift in direction to me personally as there is already AQ which is already you're "Hey look at me, I spend a bunch of money" mode.
Absolutely absurd move by Kabam. Everything has a price. They buff the rewards and take away the potions. So in reality those tier 3 and tier 6 that you need that you see in the units store every so often for 50 bucks or higher, you will pay for them double or triple times more if you spend units during war season. As an end game player and leader of my alliance we are done with alliance wars. If something glitters, it’s not gold. Players are dropping like flies a;ready. Pretty soon the office executives at Kabam headquarters will look in the mirror and point at themselves. Hey, I need you to do this. Too bad the person looking back at them is themself. That is coming for sure. Bad direction in the game. We should start having a choice in what we get, i.e nexus. Tier 5 cc in the glory store should be a nexus. Terrible..just terrible.
You need to understand how expensive these war potions are to make, especially with all the cost exploding it was imperative to pass through the cost increase to us the customers. Long enough we enjoyed the pleasure of cheap potions. In hindsight it was great the way it was before now as reality kicks in.
As kt1 and everyone said, soon as the compensation stops and when potions in my stack hits its limit, numerous amount of players will stop aw. You can increase the rewards as much as you like. Make it 100k 6* shards or even 2 t6b and t3a as the highest rewards, it will not change the fact that the cost to buy potions will be so high that people should start spending all their income on this game. Thus making it MORE PAY TO PLAY THAN FREE TO PLAY. Except for arenas there is no other mode where we can play and earn Champs.
So it is better for everyone to revert back to how aw potions were. I can see easy solutions to this problem:-
1)Bring aw potions back to glory store or
2)Reduce the cost of potions significantly, increase the amount of loyalty we gain and increase the limit to buy potions.
