I don’t understand the logic except for to make players spend hard earned units on content. People stay engaged with the game when they’re farming resources. They’re happy to do content this way. But with this new method going forward I’d imagine the average unit spend per carinas challenge v3 could be close to 5K. Nobody is going to want to play your game if they’re stressed about their resources, Kabam. And if they did just accept this new way of doing things, now there’s no chance of ever having enough units on hand to pay for the outrageously priced deals that come around several times a year without spending money. And why would someone who is unhappy with the state of the game feel compelled to buy units or deals with their actual money at that point?
I myself have been a farmer... and will miss the ability to farm, but more than understand the need.
I think the solution of a daily quest is semi-reasonable, just the amounts given out I disagree with.
Similar to last month's event, if instead of giving out tiny amounts, and limit to only smaller items, could we instead get the equivalent of 1 4h crystal for whatever progression we are for completion, and 2 more for exploration?
This will ensure that end game players still can't farm ridiculous numbers in a few days, but at the same time, makes sure they are getting meaningful items... if you are only going to give 3 health potions (l1, l2, and l4) and 1 l1 revive a day... that isn't much... I can get more than that farming monthly quest. 3 crystals while seeming to be a small number of items.. has the added benefit of actually being able to save them (no different than the 4 hour crystals already being saved) allowing some ability to build a buffer (which in reality is not any different than doing a little arena and saving units)... and comparing that to say the massive number of revives and potions in the valentine's day sale stuff... its a a paltry amount.
Alternatively... if you want to give items / that doesn't work: how about 1 L1 revive, 1 L5 health potion? 1 L1 AQ revive, 1 L4 AQ health portion 1 AW L4 health potion
What was the point? Seriously kabam, what was the actual point?
We’ve all seen the memes about how kabam hates the playerbase. It’s getting real hard to laugh recently…
Inputs broken for what? Two years? Battlegrounds are all kinds of messed up. And the complete and utter refusal to handle the cheating/modding problem in any meaningful way.
Kabam, it’s almost as if you want us to stop playing this game.
For me, revive farming incentivizes me to play and spend in the game. If I have the game open for 3 hours trying to build up a stash to tackle something new, I’m more likely to see and buy the offers. I’m more likely to progress and then, since I spend so much time engaged with the game, I am more inclined to buy deals.
Farming requires you to constantly engage the game. Maybe not to the extent of playing a match but you have to pay enough attention to restart once you finish the quest.
They’re not even trying to hide the fact that they want people to spend money anymore. This is a pathetic attempt to justify forced spending. These people have no clue how to run a game. Player satisfaction is the absolute last thing they’re concerned with.

I couldn’t agree more. I spend a fair bit in this game. Admittedly, so much more than I planned on and more than I’m willing to admit out of embarrassment. If this is the way we’re going, I’m not spending another penny. They seriously don’t know how much this is going to backfire for them
All this does is hurt free to play players more who trade thier time for revives. If they were worried about people spamming revives there would be a limmit u can buy with actual money also.... but I don't see that happening... so what I'm hearing is ur time is just not valuable enough for revives... need to swipe that credit card if u wanna spam revives at content
This is such an antiplayer move on Kabam's behalf. They claim that revive farming belittles hard content aimed at end-game players "...because summoners simply spam revives.".
Whether players spend time (alot of time) farming revives from Acts 1-3, or whether players spend time (again, alot of time) farming thousands of units to buy revives for said content, they are still spamming revives.
Kabam isn't doing this because it belittles endgame content, they're doing it because it's a free way to belittle endgame content.
If they're going to mention transparency, then may as well be transparent and honest about the real reason why this is being done.
I used to explore as much of all EQs as I could. Then you made the EQs harder and kept the rewards the same, so I just do a completion run and chapter 1 for hero use, then I farm.
So you’ve made it harder to get units in EQ. You’re now making it harder and more expensive to get revives in other content. Am I supposed to only do alliance content and BGs? That’s what it feels like.
Something I'm genuinely curious about in particular is this ..... "This frenzied revive farming trivializes difficult content like Carina’s Challenges and Eternity of Pain because Summoners simply spam revives" ...
OK, I get my head around that to some.extent or other but I am.still able to go and spend an obscene amount of money on units and buy revives that I can "simply spam" ..... so that's is no reason to be doing it, it's just an excuse (not even a plausible one). And this company (and their white knights) wonders why we don't trust what they say. They're quite literally.lying to our faces while asking for money
This is the most greedy and trash move I’ve seen kabam make to date! They’re trying to justify their greed by throwing some arbitrary numbers that only give half the picture. When you apply those numbers across the board to the number of players that farm, it’s a small amount per player. God forbid we have a way to make this game cost a little less. Then kabam comes in and says hell nah… there will be none of that!!!
I think they wrote a bad post on purpose. They will wait for the reaction and then change the revive to be guarenteed once per day. Then they will say, we backed down and comprimised and hope that settles the community.
If they started with the guarenteed revive per day there would still be community outrage and would be more difficult to win the community over afterwards
The post itself is full of contradictions. It was stated twice that they "don't want players to rely on RNG to farm revives", yet they are adding a quest that has a 1% and a 5% chance to give an additional revive. And it guarantees a lvl 1 potion, which is, well, pathetic.
Then saying that "players are spamming revives". Yet these changes, just like the gifting event changes, aren't stopping people from buying or using the items. They are just making it harder to obtain, incentivizing money yet again. Have a problem with people using too many revives? Pretty simple, create content that limits the ammount of items used. But I guess that would stop people from spamming units on buying revives.
Haven't learned anything from the gifting event fiasco. Instead of fixing the problem, you're just putting a brick over it and making it harder to go around it, while NOT EVEN TRYING TO DISCOURAGE spending.
Modders are allowed to exist but the completely legal and legit revive farming is what is “trivializing end game content” and is “effectively a loophole”. Silence the community and then punish them, makes sense
Blaming the "necessity of change" on path RNG is a slap in the face. Now the max any player can farm from questing content and stash into overflow will be the 6/week x 2 weeks expiration in the stash, so 12 + maybe a few more if you're lucky?
It's obvious this is an attempt to force units for consumables, thus more cash for units when large deals come around. Well with this news, I personally won't be spending on either. Consider my wallet closed.

Ah because that generates them money. Which makes everything ok.

NO!
THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE COULD FARM FREE REVIVES......REALLY???
