Setting expectations: This is not like the Gold or trade-in events of the past. We're purposely trying to move away from huge sales and events like those that encourage months of hoarding. This is a much smaller-scale event entirely.
Not trying to dull your hype, but in the past, I've seen people set their own expectations really high, and then be disappointed when they're not met.
This is not to say that this isn't a cool event with some really rad deals to be found, because there is!
Ok and thanks. My expectations are rock bottom. So I can only be pleasantly surprised. I think.

The best way to temper expectations is to release the details at the same time as these announcements. You're setting up for failure by creating hype without the information necessary to evaluate what's coming.
Genuinely cannot comprehend how someone could disagree with this

This. So. Much. This.
You do know you could just press the agree button lol

Creating hype without specifics is an inherent part of advertising.
Imagining the end result without specifics is on you.
In the message it talks about offers and a shop so it's the same thing so paying or nothing to see?
The messages are not clear on game 😅
It implies (if not flat out states) that the offers and the shop are separate, but both under the umbrella of the event. Unless they completely forgot how to English, the offers will not be necessary for purchase to be able to trade in Units, Gold, AG's, and crystals.
Some general thoughts:
I assume that the "crystals" trade in will be for things like quest crystals, but I would love some upgraded version of the solo crystals. I have like 6.3 mill shards saved up, and they could definitely use an additional (and more rewarding) tier above "supreme".
Hoping this is reminicent of the deadpool gold offers. My 46 million gold could use an outlet.
If there is a 7* AG awarded for stashed up 6* AGs, I might die. I will immediately hop back on my previous pedastal of getting annoyed when a previously undisclosed number of items (that have a low availability, not talking about currencies like gold/loyalty/units) that I've been incentivised to dump into champions before they hit a large drop in value (on obtaining dupes of almost all champs) suddenly are part of some crazy valuable deal that nobody could have anticipated. Especially if Kabam literally strongly discourages us from thinking that a similar deal will be available in the future.
To counterpoint my previous point, one of the reasons that I never open solo crystals is that the AG's received have nowhere to go and a fairly low item cap. I suppose that great trade-ins for these might incentivise opening lower solo crystals, but that leads me to my next point.
They did not mention in the announcement, and I don't remember seeing something like this before (so correct me if I missed this), but I really wish there was a trade-in or upgrade function for boosts in this event. They are the biggest reason I don't open solo crystals. I have a ton of arena boost crystals, war boosts, and just regular boosts that go to waste all the time (War I don't blame on Kabam, I don't play in a high enough tier to use them) because they aren't needed for regular questing, but I still rarely have the biggest boosts when I actually need them (30% for Abyss, Gauntlet, etc).
Overall, I'm always super pumped when they do offers for things that all players (of respective progression levels) can enjoy and that utilize underutilized game items.
There's no way they are gonna give a 7* ag this early, and if they did, it would definitely cost a 1000$, so don't worry about it.

Another event where we can purchase something with gold would be nice. It wouldn't require hoarding for a lot of players who have more gold than could ever be used.

Honestly I feel like kabam have been killing it with nearly every event. I remember it took me months to get a 6 star when they first arrived. Now it's taking weeks to get a 7 star. I can't speak the same for everyone but good job kabam! And thank you:)

The next time we get to buy stuff with gold, it will probably be uncollected gold crystals.
Well there will be a lot of disappointed players because of not enough ressources to trade, especially with a 7 star in the shop (even if Civil Warrior doesn’t make dream). After saying to not spare a lot. Let’s hope the lessons were learned from the previous events…
By the way, the legends event was great. For Paragorns, the choice of the 6 champions in the selectors gave a lot hesitation and put (back or not) in the light some champions. Really well done.

ON A SCALE OF ONE TO TEN HOW HYPED SHOULD WE BE???

And deny you an opportunity to reply and keep it going? Not on my watch.
Um can we get more clarification on this? Why are there deals on 22,24 and 29? Does that mean the deals on 29 will be better in comparison to 22 so we save our resources and wait for 29?

And since you don't want events that require hoarding, how about the usual july 4th/cyber monday which requires a year of hoarding units?
its rather confusing, like i guess i better not het anything the first two so just in case 3rd day is best right?

I got a bunch of 2*s looking all sad with their bronze color stars 😔
I feel like if we had known the trade in shop would come back, we wouldn’t have picked the sig stones over the generic gem in rifts for example.
Lesson learned: From now on, hoard everything.

I dont just wanna get rid of 100 of my thousands of quest crystals
I will laugh hard if there is a gem trade in.
