I have a thought. Is serpent more unfair than domino when she was released? She can fail the abilities of most champion, and the first champ who doesn't take crit failure is mysterio, who was released 1 year after her release.
Maybe this community can handle serpent as well, that's our only choice, Maybe by 2027, we may have a bunch of serpent counters, good enough to not be intimidated by him.

Serpent is worse. Domino did some unavoidable damage but she didn’t have immortality and massive power gain and massive regen and resistance to everything
Is there any way they can't rethink their decision with all the feedback here and on YouTube? Even Kabam's biggest supporters are questioning this decision. It's a really bad look particularly on YouTube. Lagacy just torched them.

I think Red Skull might have technically been a Domino “counter”. I know he had some sort of increased AA before his buff that should have countered Domino, but y’know Red Skull also sucked pre-buff so lol.
I think my current opinion would be that Domino in her heyday was actually worse than Serpent is now, but that’s also an artifact of her time. Back then there was no counter to crit failure and just generally you also couldn’t contend super well with her things like evade and non-contact basics and dex removal and all that junk. But that’s also a time period where Kabam’s idea of difficulty was clearly just throw stuff at the wall until clearing a story path with <5 revives wasn’t feasible. This was still when the Collector and nodes like Strength in numbers were considered good difficulty rather than bs.
Serpent isn’t at the same level of uncounterable. Possibly not even close. But this is a time where Kabam has learned how to make actually fair challenges. EOP style content has been a big hit. Necropolis is considered quite good compared to Abyss’s reception. Most defenders and nodes have counters and ways around them. In this new game state it’s hard to not feel like Serpent sticks out like a sore thumb. He’s not as unfair as Domino was, but he certainly feels like it in this new era.
I bet some of the upcoming champs are going to be hard serpent counters, that the only reason they didn't rebalance him
I’m guessing Shathra will be one of those
DLL said no hard counters like Galan Peni, don't expect anything like that.
Ummm, so who designed Serpent again?
Just want to chime in and say that the original champion designer and the rebalance team are different things. DLL may have made Serpent, but DLL alone is not the person in charge of the rebalance decision.
DLL’s deep dives with context have been tremendously helpful to the community, and he has been a good point of contact for us. Do not go after him because you disagree with the rebalance team’s decision. You will only be hurting us by doing so.
Nothing wrong with thinking Serpent is overtuned, I’m not gonna tell you to be quiet on that front. But going after developers is how we lose lines of communication, and that really will hurt us all.
Credit to Dabeast for this info but what a ridiculous abilities and a few missed, -60% of any instant damage effect, -60% crit penetration, and immortality is immune to nullify and stagger. Seriously what are you thinking Kabam??? At least update your post to be honest about Serpent.
Bro has immunities to nullify fate seal and stagger. 125% ability rate on immortality so neutralize isn’t guaranteed…. Are we talking about a cosmic champ??????????

This is actually crazy I literally forgot mystics are supposed to be doing the countering not the other way around. Kabam has made it such a regular thing to bypass class relationships that we don't even notice it anymore within the cosmic class
I’m saying this out of frustration, but some developers complain and moan about Hercules but have no problems creating a Defensive Hercules (Serpent). If the Kabam Team genuinely thinks Serpent as he is is fine, then it’s one of two things: (1) There are going to be mystic champions in the future that will counter most of the 15+ defensive abilities he has AND be fast enough to do this or (2) we’re genuinely screwed as a community.
DLL created the Skill equivalent of Hercules (Kate Bishop) in terms of what she can do and I’m sure he’s very proud of her.
It’s sad, frustrating, a lot of negative emotions.

Firstly, please note that I did not make any remark regarding DLL personal. I'm not a believe in attacking anyone personally online or offline.
I do not know DLL as a person and have no opinion either way.
I'm only discussion the work itself.
Secondly, my response to the previous comment was not regarding thee Rebalance program, but on the actual Champion Design and Kabam new design policy.
Serpent is most overtuned Defendering champ in the history of MCOC we are not talking about hard, we are talking about being unfair. This is not just my opinion, but of those at the highest skill level. The champion was designed like this while know that he will never get a hard counter for. Something that the designer does so knowingly.
This does bring a lot of question, now let be clear, these decisions are not come from one individual person, it is part of a team, a company.
However, at the sametime, for all of the time people praised the designer (one individual person, as I don't remember seeing any one praise the whole team on design Kate) for the great champion design, when a bad champion come along is the constructive feedback not aloud?
Again let me make it clear, we are discussing about someone work, not the person themselves.
Serpents power gain towards 1% needs to go away.kindred has death immunity too but there are ways to tackle him. Serpents power gain is so strong at the end its atrocious. Last season we have seen his deadliest form when with extra buff duration. With his unblockable, undexable sp and with 7star pierce its not fun tackling him. Just take out his power gain at the end so AI rng to sp3 you doesn’t persist. Rest of his kit is still annoying and will need to be countered but won't be unfair. DLL seems to be a passionate professional but nerf to serpent has to happend. Way to overtuned.
Wow. I can’t believe Kabam has decided Serpent isn’t overturned and ridiculous. No changes to how he interacts with nodes and no changes to be able to take him down with more competitive scores. The rebalance program is a farce and a joke.
The rebalance program was never indicated to be a nerf machine. It's entirely dependent on what their goals for specific Champs are, and they've never severely altered any Champs since the current program has begun. Some Champs are just stronger than others at some aspects, and that's always been the case. I've seen a number of Champs that have been called too powerful over the years, and within 6 months time, people were so used to fighting them that they were scarcely challenging anymore.
Nerfing serpent would be nowhere near the realm of kabam being a "nerf machine". That is so far from what that I don't know why you thought to use those words in this context. Nerfing serpent is simply the reasonable choice that is obvious to almost anyone, including top level players.
And it wouldn't be a nerf machine either if they did actually buff the champs that need it, like destroyer or ironheart, who both should have gotten a tuneup as attackers.
You know when Serpent gains that True Focus, you cannot evade his special attacks with Dexterity?
Well, here is what they said
"Hear me out! This combination isn’t quite as scary as it reads. The first hits of the Serpent’s Special 1 and 2 are both melee attacks, meaning that they can be avoided by any Champion even when the Dexterity mastery is disabled. Offensively, take some lessons from Masacre and Hulkbuster to get the most out of the Serpent’s Specials."
Well this happens.
So while the part where they said they can be avoided by any Champion is technically true, ff you are too close when he throws it, he's able to tag you simply because dexterity is off. Which means the statement isn't 100% true
We already have two CCs defending Kabam's decision and quite literally regurgitating the same things Kabam said but in different words lmao it's almost as if they copied the whole paragraph and asked ChatGPT to rewrite it for them 💀
