This December has been a disaster. No 2* arena, terrible rewards for one of the hardest content ever released and running AW season on Christmas and New Years. You have Youtubers telling people not to do the content and ranting about how much they hate AW seasons. Now a master ally is disbanding because of how awful AW seasons are.
There needs to e big changed to the Kabam team in 2019.
Someone at Kabam made a big mistake here. They want to make hard content ...mission accomplished. But they also want players to attempt the challenge so they buy items completing it... they blew it here. When you need to buy items to complete something you think “would I pay x amount of dolllars to buy this directly if it was in an offer”. Here the rewards are so poor that the answer is a resounding no.
It's as if someone thought players wouldn't mind powering through The Maze with in-game resources because the gifting event is going on. This content is exponentially more difficult than The Champion's Challenge Heavyweight difficulty. This is the only content of 2018 to award a full T2AC, even Variant doesn't have that. I can think of two ways to avoid trainwrecks like this in the future. First, more communication between developers and players. Second, release video of developers playing their own content. The second suggestion would show players what kind of skill is needed to conquer end-game content.

That last suggestion is an excellent one. Kabam could commission some players (no one wants to watch devs play, they almost always suck, get actual players or playtesters) to solo individual challenge fights with a wider variety of champs without using items. Watching YouTubers do it with the best high sig 5-65s is ok, but I’d rather see it done with the B or C team + skill.

This coinciding with the gifting event is a great point. Still a miss because they miscalculated the awards and how much people would pay for them. This will ultimately cost them money.
The Devs do not play this game in any serious manner I am quite convinced of that. They for sure aren't using a rosters similar to a typical end game player even when they do play. No way any Dev has completed LOL, variant etc....
Just did the first path ... and I'm not happy how this was designed.
After one-shot everything on the path and get till the final boss, I must say that this battle is completely BS if you don't have a specific champion.
- Unblockable, Unstoppable, Block penetration, Regen above waht he lost during the battle. Immune to fate seal, heal block and petrify effects.
Plus all the lag mid fight that I won't talk about, really makes this not fun at all.
I'm tired of facing the Champion as the final boss. Apart from him, I had some fun on the other fights, for real. But this one is an exception since it's all but that.
(Just my opinion, I know some of you wre able to defeat him easily with a specific champion or so)

Your middle paragraph hits the nail on the head for me. “Latency” issues (or whatever they are now called) associated with high-end content were the last straw for reducing the game to an occasional pastime for me. It’s a great game, and since Dec. 2014 it’s been a staple of my routine.
But it is a phone game, after all. My current setup enables me to stream all kinds of content on multiple devices across rooms and floors, but it struggles when it comes to handling tapping and swiping on MCoC even when it’s the only thing running and I’m just several feet from the router. Bottom line: I shouldn’t have to upgrade my hardware just to have a stable experience on a phone game.

Excellent suggestions. One addition: there’s really no need to have the game team show how a reasonably advanced player could do it when there are Summoners who already have. Those are precisely the types of players whose suggestions should have been incorporated into content in the first place.
As an example: @xNig ‘s videos provide a good idea of what it takes. Watching his videos, I realize the quest isn’t going to happen for me. I lack his lineup, and, even with mine, it would take pretty flawless play and zero connectivity issues and a bucket of pots. Ergo, not happening.
Ultimately, I’m fine with that. But I’m not sure putting out content a 4-year player decides to completely punt is the smart path forward.
Thank you all for the feedback. I think it's pretty clear what I'll be passing along to the team in terms of the rewards here.
We understand that this is very difficult content. It was not meant to be easy, and we weren't underselling it when we said that many will enter, but few will complete it. This is some very very high end content.
If you don't feel the rewards are not worth the effort for this mode, remember that there are still lots of other things to do in game right now, including the Chilled Challenges that just went live.
I'm going to make sure that we have a discussion with the team regarding the rewards for any future iterations of something like this.
I just don't understand how you failed to see the disparity between Difficulty and Reward ratio with the Maze. Champion's Contest was significantly easier even though we faced many more champs and the rewards were 5x better, the monthly rewards as well as those for Variant are better than this trash. How did you fail to look at this before putting in the game?
Any new "end game" content should include t5b, t2a, and 6* shards. It's that simple.
The issue isn't the difficulty, the issue is the rewards. This is Variant level difficulty for **** rewards. I can do this quest and while it would cost me some items I don't feel the items are worth putting here. I'd rather finish exploring Variant and if this quest is still around when I finish that, awesome, and if not I won't be missing much.
And you can totally do that. If you don't think the rewards are worth it, remember that this is totally optional, and that you can spend your time and energy somewhere that you think it is a better investment!
There's a lot to do right now! I know I just brought Chilled Challenges up, but I'm really enjoying them! I'm even trying to make them a little more difficult by not using my Best Team. That backfired once, but I'm gonna try it again later!
What we want is someone to say I understand, you're right, we messed up. Own up to the fact that mistakes were made with the difficulty to reward ratio. But so far the response has been, do it if you want, we don't really care how you feel and what the facts are.
I think if The Champion have some type of node like Breakthrough, that would give an advantage to a player after some time during the fight, this battle wouldn't be that much of a pain, and it would actually balance with the other nodes that he has.
A skilled player, even without having the best damage or counter to The Champion, would have the chance to defeat him and deal more damage the more hits dealt during the battle.
For me in the current state, this is probably the only battle that isn't fun at all.

1) I agree with all of this except the final 2 sentences. I don't think all "end game" content is required to include T5B, T2A, and 6* shards. Kabam could've included a 5* awakening gem crystal in Maze rewards and nearly all of the complaints would lose their merit. End-game players had four to five or more 4/55 champions when Act 5.3 dropped, that's comparable to current end-game players having four to five or more 5/65 champions. Act 5.3 exploration rewards included a 5* awakening gem crystal. Exploring Act 5.3 with 5/50 champions was much easier than most of the fights I had in The Maze and Maze fights that were easier than finishing Act 5.3 with 5/50 champs were only easier because I had a top counter for those fights ranked up to 5/65. The sole exception to this is using 5/50 Void for Maze Mephisto.
2) The rewards offered in this quest would be less of an issue if this content was permanent.
The level of difficulty for the rewards offered is a joke !
No 6* shards, no t5b, he’ll not even a full 5* or t2a... and then not even random 5* stones, but a rainbow of chance. I think they screwed the pooch on this one. It costs less to buy the Christmas deal with better rewards 2x over than what is offered here with time and units...
This is like when your parents hype you up for an AMAZING Christmas present. But instead of a new Roku TV or a new iPhone or something... they give you an old bag of itchy wool socks. Just a grand disappointment.
Call your bet and raise you Kabam announcing Cyclops in the 6* champion pool and players later finding out it's not the effective Cyclops
Soooo, can we raise the rewards now? This is obviously a mistake. U can just send more rewards by email. Still plenty of time to correct the mistake. Don’t be stubborn Kabam
Now this isn't some complaint from a Middle tier player, I have completed all hard content save Variant (due to my roster not being super expanded, class restrictions kill me) and LOL Exploration (did one pass, but saving units is my weakness) and let me tell you @Kabam Miike this maze is the stupidest thing that the developers have ever released when you compare it to the rewards. That Aegon is almost impossible to kill with such a high health pool in one try and if you don't one shot him you're ****. who the hell though this was a good idea?
i used to revives didnt even finish the quest like 85% through my first run i realized i dint wanna use any more items the difficulty and rewards just dont match up lol

Take a look around!
Exit the maze shaking your head.
Cause this ain't it chief.
For January it's "Enter with Cash" mate !!!!!!!!
Agreed.
Almost choked on my water. Lmao!
Very nice. I got the botyom feeder too as 6 star 🤮

It's not, it's for players who have certain 5* champions at 4/55+ and as 6* and in rare cases maxed 4*s. Some examples include:
Heimdall - Voodoo, Magik, Killmonger, Cap IW
Killmonger - Corvus, Thor OG, King Groot, Duped Cap IW w/cosmic synergy
Archangel - Sentinel, Iceman, Emma Frost, Ultron, Bleed Immune Champs when used with skill
Emma Frost - Star Lord, Cap IW, Proxima (hated this fight the most)
Korg - Proxima, Voodoo, King Groot, any champion with strong intercepting skills
Symbiote Supreme - Magik, Killmonger, Cap IW w/tech synergy
Mephisto - Void (4* works)
IMIW - Corvus, Hyperion, maybe Cap IW
Aegon - Voodoo, Symbiote Supreme, maybe Archangel
Iceman - Corvus, Sabretooth, Mephisto
Wasp - Corvus, Heimdall, Proxima, Karnak
Thanos (Both) - Proxima, Archangel, Blade w/Danger Sense, Star Lord, Sparky, Cap IW
Guillotine - Star Lord, Sparky, Proxima, any champion with strong intercepting skills
Champion - Voodoo, Symbiote Supreme, maybe Magik

i oneshot that aegon with dr.voodoo
Great post! How is King Groot good against Korg? Can you elaborate?
A few more suggestions:
Stark Spidey is great against Emma Frost and Iceman
Blade w Danger seems to be the best option against Guillotine
Ronan can stun lock Heimdall and Aegon
what about the adaptoid
