**UPDATES TO ENLISTMENT GIFTING EVENT:**
To prevent exploitation, we will prevent new Accounts from being able to Gift enlistment crystals. We will also be taking action on those who are using 3rd Party Sellers, Bots and other farms to gift themselves mass amounts of Enlistment Crystals. Lastly, we will be adding an expiration timer to Enlistment Crystals. All unopened Enlistment Crystals will expire on Oct 18 @ 17:00 UTC. For more information, please see this post: https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/346104/updates-to-enlistment-gifting-event

**KNOWN ISSUE**
We have adjusted the node placement of the new AW maps to better allow path traversal. As a result, defender placements have been reset. Please, take a moment to re-place your defender setup. We will be pushing out a message in-game shortly.

Poor decision. I expect more alliances to crumble and players to quit. If that’s the goal it’s a good move.
Iirc, playing AQ and AW across the holidays isn’t mandated by Kabam. It’s really not their fault that your alliance decided to need to play AW during that time, nor was it their fault that an alliance is stressing their members to need to not die.
All in all, it was the same as last year. People feel obligated to need to participate in AW and AQ else their FOMO overcomes them.
Both my alliances did Map 3 all month in Dec and took a break from AW (ie not spending items and not bothering about deaths or 100%ing the map). Ended up Plat 3 Rank 46 for one and Gold 1 Rank 250 for the other. Free rewards are free. Not to mention I have no trouble retaining members from S6 to S7.
Tbh, it’s really entirely up to the leadership of the alliance, not Kabam, to know when to push and when to take it easy for the sanity of your own members.

Can't tell if sarcasm, or serious, lol. I left it out as it's so vaguely worded. Not sure how 1 week off will help matters with 'matchmaking optimizations.' Wouldn't more time help? Or is this in reference to Alliances that tank their rating? If that's the case, it then begs the question, will this be used as the excuse everytime? Will the time off permanently be 1 week? It's hard to say.
come on guys please reconsider, we need at least two weeks between war seasons otherwise our alliance is just going to have to skip the next one completely and just not participate.
/signed. Extend the off season. Your design problems are your problems. Work overtime. We have a saying at my work and it is "Don't make your problems our problems."
I think anyone who is content with one week or less between seasons is fortunate. I’m jealous of their position. It must be nice to not have to recruit and organize new guys coming in. It’s also amazing that they have the resources built up or the capital to purchase boosts and potions like a drop of the hat. I’m not there. Currently I’m taking over the leadership role of my alliance while the current leader takes a break from this $#!t show. So I have a week to prepare to push to a higher bracket. Get the right balance of the bgs and get everyone on board with my vision.
So I get that some folks may not be pleased but for the love of MCOC I implore you guys over at Kabam to consider giving us that will be swimming in frustration an additional week. Maybe two.
Please, Please, Please. I beg of thee!
That's great in theory. The reality is that deciding to not run the season would cause many alliances to have even more turnover or break up entirely as many would go to alliances that were running the season.
I would argue no one claiming to represent the majority of players actually has any ability to know what the majority of players actually thinks. It is one thing to represent your own opinion, and another to claim some form of representational authority from the entire playerbase, which is what I specifically responded to.
Also, people keep making analogies of the form "how would you feel if?" The general answer is if I felt as mistreated as many players claim to feel on the forums in any aspect of my life I'd remove that aspect. That's what a sane, rational person does.
No AW games on the eve and the day of the holiday. I was going insane making moves during the eve and day of Christmas and New Years.
Can we go to a 35 summoner alliance group so the officers can schedule time off. This way we are not pressured to attend every aq and aw. I feel the game is becoming more and more a chore rather than entertainment.
AW Rewards need to increase in between battles and end of season. Maybe include glory? I dont need more 5* shards! I would rather have 6*, alpha two, or t5bc shards even if they are small amount like 500-800 shards. Give us an extra chance to become uncollected!
Health and Revive potion needs to reflect a percentage and not nominal value. What is the point of 250 alliance health potions when you have a five star with 30k health pool?!
The rewards are not bad, but I'm not sure they fit the structure or time commitment of war. I would love to see the rewards more directly benefit the reflected rosters (for example, you often use mystic champs...here's a ¾ T4 Mystic Catalyst) of war. I'm not sure how/if you could track this, so maybe a select your own partial (or whole) Class Catalyst.
So, someone fighting at platinum and above can join a lower tier alliance like Gold1, earn decent rewards, then step it up in an alliance looking for a strong replacement midway through, and save a ton of resources that way.
Personally i think Kabam have made a terrible choice here and should reverse it and go to a two week break.
I think players complaining of thenexpensemof war and burnout need to just step back and play at a tier that is more comfortable for them.
My reason for hating the one week break is simple.
Stress on leaders and officers.
I am a leader of my alliance. We are trying to push into gold.
I was really looking forward to better break.
Now i have a week to
- find new recruits
- Collect their rosters
- Collect updates to my existing members rosters
- Restructure defences to place peoples newly ranked up champs whilst trying to maintain / improve diversity
- Work out wat the new recruits can do amd place them on paths and potentially move around my existing memebers.
All this takes time. There is many many many hours invovled in structuring a BG defence.
Now i have to rush to make this happen in a week.
All while still trying to find time to actually play the game myself.
A regular player in an alliance has no need to complain bout the season break imo.
It is amount of work that officers and leaders have to do in a short time that is tough IMO.
This continuation is going to disband alliances. Long standing ones. There are several consequences to this - specifically regarding the disenfranchised player base that continues to grow.
Kabam - you need to calm down.
I'm going to give you a personal example.
Competitive core alliances want to grow. They dont want to be "casual", they want to push to greater content. They aren't your whales, but they'll drop a dime when they need. With that core, they as a group, attract more developed players that compliment them. The group as a whole then transcends. They push boundaries as a team. The season ends. The team doesn't meet their mark, people get disappointed & leave. How do you recruit to recover? And build to continue your goal to be competitive?
Now. Compare this to the job market. Say you have a staff of programmers. 20% of them aren't happy and they all leave at once for a better gig. (They got headhunted.) Do you recruit from the colleges of inexperienced programmers? Do you think your clout as a corporation will carry you? Will your product be the same? Do you think dictating new programmers will make them more efficient? Do you think limiting debug time is going to make the product more usable?
The above is a perfect simile to what you're asking your player base to do. Yeah. I get it, your devs are stressed. But now they're putting it on the disenfranchised player base. How far do you think that will go before people realize the delegation of responsibility is being manipulated?
Im trying to be thought provoking without coming off as ****. Please consider this.
Thanks.
