Beyond the bugs and clearly untested VP fight, I'm struggling with wanting to do this variant. It isn't the difficulty, I really don't mind a challenge, it's that it just isn't fun. I'm all for encouraging the use of different champs, but the pool is very small to begin with, plus a solid portion of these champs are just not good at all. There are some that excel, but overall it's a very weak group of champs.
I'm looking at the content and judging whether or not it is worth my time and effort to do. Some of that is rewards. Most of that is fun and entertaining content with champs I enjoy playing. I could see this being fun and entertaining content if it didn't punish players so hard if they made a single mistake. The attack values are pre-nerf Act 6 level which causes immense block damage if you use a 5* and that's what Variants are designed to be completed by(based on the Kabam employee who said these are midtier content). You have rewards that are designed for Cavalier level players, but the content isn't designed for them.
If this is "midtier content" now, the rewards should help them get to the next tier and the content itself should be designed with their rosters in mind. It's currently stuck in the area that the tier of players it's designed for don't have the champs to do it and the tier that has the roster to do it has no real reason to do it. The only rewards in the content that I have any real desire to get are the t5b.
Why have a ridiculous -95% damage penalty for non-merc champs? Why not give merc champs some kind of flat bonus? You still encourage people to use those champs, but if you don't have a good merc counter for that Havok, you can still use someone else and get through it. It's just poorly thought out content from top to bottom. It's sad because I used to look forward to new Variants coming out, but after seeing this one I just don't have the drive to explore it. The content and the rewards don't justify the effort currently. I'm all for the content being aimed at Cavalier/early TB players, but the rewards need to reflect what they need to advance. Right now, this Variant is neither.
Was this in AOA? vp has been changed and overall variant is fine
Did not enjoy the content. Difficulty does not match rewards. Attack values too high, too much power gain, limited champs to use. I did enjoy using Deadpool champs.

For all of us is well know about the issues that affected Deadpool X-Force and Venompool in Variant 8 difficulty. And I imagine that a lot of player try to overcome the issues and try their best to get the victory (especially against Venompool) I was one of those players.
The thing is that I never imagine I will spend around 2,000 units that I was farming for cyber weekend to defeat Venompool. After I defeated him I was thinking: "maybe kabam already know about this issue and will compensate"
I genuinely thought: "Kabam will admit their mistake for this, and compensate the player that spend their units". (I honestly believed that you will send us the units we spend)
But not even in the worst case scenario I imagine the compensation that they send today: 40% revive orb (x5) and 10,000 health potion (x7).
Let's do the math's here: 40 units * 5 = 200 units. (value of the revive orbs) 28 units * 7 = 196 units (value of the heatlh potion) TOTAL OF "UNITS" = 396 UNITS
THE WORST PART IS THAT WE DIDN'T EVEN RECEIVED THE UNITS, WE RECEIVED THE ORBS.AND THERE IS NO CHANCE TO CHANGE THEM TO UNITS.

I know guys that you already have a lot with all the issues that had been around the game the past few months, but this type of actions will only get players more angrier than they already are. This type of things are the reason players are quitting this game. Is almost like you didn't understand what player suffer for your own mistakes (I know is not the case)
It will be great that you guys take a step and compensate the players in proportion of what they spend in those particular fights. I know that you guys can track how the players were affected by these issues and also how much they spend.
believe me when I tell you guys: The players will be more comprehensive with you if you really compensate in proportion to the spend we made.

I just did completion as rewards are ok for completion. I won't go for exploration as exploration rewards are not good enough for amount of time I need to put. This is the only variant after variant 1, I am not planning to explore. I got 2 revives and 4 health portion too although I lost more fighting venom pool
Unless you’re a you tuber or end game player with nothing else to use your energy on you should NEVER rush into new content. V8 just demonstrates this clearly.
Anybody having issues with Lifecycle on the first boss.? Really frustrating. Cant kill him with sp3 when shield is clearly down…. Happens a few times now.
I haven’t had issues with the lifecycle at all and I’ve took the very first quest boss fight down 3 times with no problems besides the usual parry and dex making everything worse

Yeah the quest is trash. So much power gain nodes. Such high block damage. Kabam took a step forward with act 7.1 and 7.2, a step back with 7.3 and a leap over the Grand Canyon with this trash of a variant lol

Bruh, don't even get me started on the damn block damage. It's such a pain, especially since I'm primarily using a 6r1 Domino and a 4/55 Masacre for a lot of fights. It's not so bad when I'm using my 6r2 Platpool or Nebs or 6r3 WeaponX, but so many of the fights are such BS that it's easier to just Domino it. On a positive note, this Variant made me realize how much I love playing Masacre. I'm dying to get and rank up a six star one.

If you read his abilities it states he gets a power gain buff if you interrupt his SP2.

As said before sp2 don't interrupt it or his power gain starts getting out of control. Bait sp1 or let him do his full moonwalk before attacking again.
Ability reduction can override the node. I had Domino successfully parry stun and sp2 bleed applied as well throughout the fight. Mascre while in assassin range was placing incenerate on vp as well. Cool and not as can't feed snack charges like that.
This isn't endgame content anymore either. If you're looking for T6B and T3A, ask Carina for a new Challenge!
I’d very much like to understand what passes for “end game content” now… I personally find Abyss easier than this variant.
Totally agree, when I first saw that post from Kabam I was pretty excited for V8…engaging content, not overly difficult, some fun cheese nodes and lanes, and materials for some fun 5star rank ups…instead this feels like Act6 garbage:(
I didn't mind this variant but it was in no way cav difficulty.
I didn't mind it because I have domino and mascre as r3 6 same as rhulk but he was just syn. If you have multiple r3 6 odds are you aren’t cav.
I tried using other champs ie my Gwenpool and bwdo, but they just weren't getting the job done.
It all came down to me as a mascre show (who by the way is broken in this with that regen) with domino parry heavy for the stupid power gain stuff like that punisher lane in 2.1.
For people in my situation it was a win but for the target audience it is a failure.
These rewards are awful, this is 2018 rewards lol... It's not about being end game content, it's about pushing rewards that fit the present. 5* champs are falling behind, start handing out more 6* shards to expand rosters.
It's this, 100% this. Rewards should continue to scale with each new release, especially for permanent content.
i want to agree but then players will expect more and more rewards and then 6 star value will go down. The rewards need a buff badly but handing out more 6 star shards is not the way to go.
