2nd chapter with 36 fights was fine First chapter was overly repetitive & frustrating
Should've just made the 2nd chapter progression based, & added rewards for the 1st chapter quests in that 2nd chapter It's already pretty grindy with 36 fights at once
If the first chapter didn’t require doing the whole thing again a million times it wouldn’t have been so bad but omg it was like arena that required attention
I liked doing the fights cause most you could cheese, but I didn't like having to do over 200 of the same fights. But the rewards were awesome and worth the effort so overall I enjoyed it, despite how long it took
It was extremely fun using my favorite options for the first path, then a lot less fun when I realized my favorite options were just inefficient for over 200 fights. AA and Ronan made it pretty straightforward, I just wish Kabam would cut the cheese
I thought chapter 2 was fine, decently challenging but not so hard that it was only for the top Paragon players. It also wasn't a "lol just herc it" fiesta like EoP.
Didn't really like how Chapter 1 was the same quest 6 times. They should've cut the paths down to 3 or something.
I agree with the sentiment that chapter 2 was fine. Chapter 1 was too much. I would have liked to of seen each of the fights in chapter 2 be a boss in chapter 1 quest (WS is 1.1 boss, juggs is 1.2 boss, and so on). I think that would have made the event less of a monotonous task.
Rewards were definitely what redeemed this challenge.
My advice on how to help out this type of content in the future. Each progression level gets you a key which allows you to skip to the last path of each quest and still get full rewards. However, make links on that last path such that the last path of each quest is as difficult as the last path of chapter 2. So there is a slight tradeoff in terms of difficulty for not going through the entire quest.
Great node designs but chapter 1 was completely unnecessary, they could've easily just make 1 path OR tied the rewards only per chapter, like i'm paragon with a slightly strong account and yet i had to do more than 50 fights that i could auto fight just so i can get the actual rewards....i just can't see a reason why they do that
Out of curiosity, what did/didn't you like compared to say, the John Mulaney's Champion challenge? People have always asked for more of those and I'd like to know what the difference was in case we ever do one of these again?

To be completely honest, I think the reason why most didn't like it was how we were all rushing it for the rewards and it felt sooooo repetitive. Maybe if I spaced it out throughout a couple weeks it would've been a bit better but it was just sooo tedious

It was honestly just the first chapter. The second chapter was fine. If it was just the second chapter mandatory and the first chapter optional, it would have been much more palatable for everyone. Having paragons (or anyone skilled or determined enough to want completion and exploration rewards) have to run through 217 fights was just not a good decision. Maybe something like separate difficulties like we have with eq would have been the way to go but i have no idea tbh. It was just way too long and grindy

@Kabam Miike I really hope you continue to more of these style side events. Between the 7 hr crystals, the arenas, and BrutalDLX, there was so much to do in the game so I was never bored. This last 2 weeks of mcoc have been so much fun. I feel that if it is only the monthly event and side quest, mcoc feels boring. But when there is an additional fun event like this, it is so much more fun.

Too long, and too repetitive. Fighting the same 5 champions over 50 times each is just boring.

Paragon difficulty being basically the same as chapter 2 was what disappointment me. It was basically just a very long duplicate

If I remember right the previous versions the ch1 stuff was a little more varied and the ch2 was completely different nodes from the ch1 stuff. Also I don't think there were as many paths, but I could be wrong.

Chapter 1 being only 6 paths with each increasing in difficulty reflecting titles would be a great change. Path 1 Contender, Path 2 Proven, Path 3 Conqueror, Path 4 UC, Path 5 Cav, and Path 6 TB. With Chapter 2 being the same as Paragon/Brutal.
Probably in the minority here, but I love the challenge-style format. I also think the Rewards justified the need to do it all. To everyone's point, I think Rewards for the Paragon Difficulty as well as a difference in Nodes for Chapter 2 might have broken up the monotony. However that would have balanced out.

I personally have only one real major issue with it, and it is that while I feel like chapter one is a good concession for players who could not do (or did not qualify for) chapter 2, having to do a full exploration of chapter one and chapter two for players capable of doing chapter two was a bit much.
I would have been fine with a token one path per map in chapter one and exploration of chapter two giving full rewards (i.e. complete chapter one and explore chapter two). I would have been fine with exploring chapter one and specifically completing map 6 in chapter 1 in one run giving full rewards. But having to completely explore chapter one and then the DLX map (which is essentially repeating the Paragon map but in one run) seemed to be a bit excessive on combining the grind and the challenge together.

I liked the twist on the existing ROL with varied nodes. That part was good. And I like the idea of new one-off quests with upped difficulty like this in general in between story content drops.
I did not like the idea of doing the same fight that many times in a row. It’s too repetitive and therefore feels like a grind I don’t have the energy for.
For future versions, I’d suggest finding a way of putting Chapter 2 behind a progression lock for paragon or whatever the end game progression level is and giving all rewards for Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 if you complete Chapter 2. I think this could be done with tokens or some other currency if there’s not an easy way to do it directly in the quest rewards.
For end game players there is no challenge in Chapter 1 so for me it is not entertaining or fun to do the same fights 36 more times if I’ve already got the roster/skills to complete Chapter 2.
For context, I’m not an arena grinder either. I don’t spend hours on this game a day so when I have time to play I like variety to keep it interesting and this is the opposite of that.
Great rewards but bad design, I'm not talking about the challenge itself it was great and fun but having to do every single lower difficulty was just painful

Honestly, I did maybe 1-2 paths and it just felt tedious along with the incursion which in itself is really grindy, but it was just too much repetitive stuff in one month. I'm not a fan of incursions to begin with. One thing though incursions have improved a good bit with the recent update, but I prefer incursions to stay as a set mode and have an actual side quest. If the BrutalDlx challenge had been on a month with out such a grindy event I may have given it more of a chance. If releasing more content like this I feel it would be better to release it along with one of the more traditional side quests.

Interesting corporate strategy though, grind players’ will away so they rationalize life’s too short and spending money is ok lol.
I enjoyed dusting off Aegon to be reminded how awesome he can be

It felt like having to 100% explore every difficulty of the EQ, just to get the full Paragon exploration rewards.
