Early Look: New Alliance Wars Maps - Discussion Thread

Hey Everybody!

We've got another Early Look for you all! This time, we're introducing brand new Maps for all Tiers of Alliance Wars!

We recently ran a Beta for Alliance Wars that featured a number of different Updates to the Mode, and our Beta Players offered us a wealth of feedback. We’ve parsed the data and feedback that we collected, and want to give you all a glimpse into our plans moving forward.

In our Beta, we updated the map and also introduced a new feature called “Defense Tactics”. The Map update introduced a new layout and new Buffs, while Defense Tactics allowed Alliance Leadership to choose a Global Buff to apply to the Map, which allows for Defenses to be more customizable and setup in a more meaningful way.

The feedback we received was that these two major changes together were quite jarring, and that it was too much all at once. We agree with this sentiment so we have decided to stagger the release of the Map update and the release of Defense Tactics (currently scheduled for Season 11).

Why isn't there an update to rewards for the new map? It looks to be more difficult. At minimum it will take more planning to clear.

Many players are very underwhelmed with war right now because of the rewards in comparison to AQ. A reward update for the new map would go a long way to helping players be excited about the upcoming changes.

Why no update in rewards. It like pushing us. It’s fun anymore it a 2 job you create this tedious game

Why have a hidden path? Just make it all visible. Also delaying the rewards update just makes season 10 not matter like the past few season haven't mattered at all.

Refresh my memory, what's Tankbuster and Psychic Thorns?

I think Tankbuster increases defender power gain rate and crit damage based on attacker’s block proficiency. I don’t ever recall seeing psychic thorns.

First thing I scrolled to was rewards.

So we're changing the maps, nodes, etc, but not rolling out new rewards until Season 11.

Does this make sense?

Season 11 will have the biggest change to Alliance Wars since we rolled out Seasons! Defence Tactics is what we want the rewards update to coincide with.

It’s ridiculous that you still can’t update the rewards.... but you always claim that 5&6 star champions are becoming more common. This just doesn’t make any sense!

If I recall, the feedback was quite a bit more than “too many changes all at once”

And to add, the feedback was along the lines of (of course going on memory): The changes make AW not worth the time/item investment for current rewards”
And yet you’re adding in half the changes and leaving the rewards 😂

I believe he just eluded to the fact that the Rewards will change, but they want them to coincide with the changes as well. That's what I understood.

Would've preferred all the changes at once to get rewards now, but I'm guessing beta testers didn't know that asking for them to be split would result in delay of improved rewards.

Classic decision to make with incomplete information. Oh well, at least its coming.

So let me get this straight we now have 15+ mini bosses up from 10. New nodes along with what appears to be more empty(wasted) spaces. With no increase to rewards this season. Even if everything else was comparable to the previous map the increase in mini bosses alone should dictate some sort of reward increase this season. This is really a poor announcement.

So what’s the point of Scouter Lens if you’re going to hide all information except for 5 champs and show the rest? Will Scouter Lens even reveal any of the hidden champs? Either way, seems like you all severely or completely diminished the value of that mastery....

Unless I'm totally mistaken, there will be an Announcement sometime close to the changes that breaks down Rewards and other things.

Rewards have been outdated ever since the AQ change. The fact they plan on running another season with pout changing them shows they are out of touch.

No you’re mistaken on this one. The update to rewards won’t be around till season 11 or more. They aren’t updating rewards till defensive tactics global buff is released. Unlike the early release aq information, that stated they will announce reward updates later.

No there wont because kabam has ALREADY stated the rewards wont change till season 11. Do you even read?
