I'm normally the one saying the same thing to wait and see. However, this time I think the players do have a reason to be upset and to voice that upset. Hood lost one of the key things that made him unique and situational rank up. He didn't need much done to "buff" him, but the write up shows that they took his a key function of his utility. I personally wasn't a hood fan till recently and I specifically ranked him for the utility and then used him later because I liked him. This is more than just number changes or a complete rework, this is a swing and a miss
17 pages of comments and still not so much as a "wait until the buff goes live before judging" from Kabam? They've had such good buffs, I have a duped 6* Hood and was so excited for this when it first was announced, I'm hoping they do something to better balance it.

Even if he has decent damage, he's lost his uniquity as an underrated but killer buff controller and now he'd be an alright damage dealer among an expanding sea of them.
Sure he could be a great damage dealer, but what you don't seem to get it that people know he's worse because he doesn't have what made him so good anymore, no amount of damage can replace utility.
Here's a question. If it wasn't for The Champion in 6.2, would people be as bothered?
Of course they would be. Hood is (or well, was) used in plenty of other areas where his utility was needed. This has nothing to do with The Champion, it's just about them "buffing" someone that didn't need it just because they have a outdated way of checking usage data on champions
I believe most of people who use hood will agree be needs a buff. A buff to increase his dps. None of them will ask to nerf his utility. If it would've be smth with his sp1 changed, like sp1 for damage, sp2 as it is, people would be quite happy. But the person who came up with proposed changes probably thought he's smbd like og black panther, who needs a rework. When actually hood only required little adjustment here and there
Hood only needed a small damage bump. NOTHING else. He was one of the last champs in actual need of a rework
You have to be kidding me? He had a 50% increase from Stryfe and still was below average. He needed a moderate re work.

I’m just going to repeat my stance on this buff from earlier in the thread. I don’t have significant resources in hood. I do however have resources invested in champions with other niche uses, like Ronan. When they announced their buff schedule I never considered champions like hood, Angela and masacre for a buff, so clearly the bar has been set pretty high for champs that aren’t requiring a buff, which puts other champions with niche uses in line for a buff. I am simply here to try and make it clear to Kabam that when they’re buffing champs that have niche but commonly used uses, like Ronans stun lock, or Gladiator Hulks face me, they should build upon their original ability set, not remove parts of it for different abilities. If they insist on scrapping some of their key abilities, then rank down tickets should be provided for those that will no longer have use for the changed champion.
If they cannot atleast give us this guarantee then they will have damaged the health of the game as any champion that isn’t rated top 3-5 in their class Will suddenly be ranked up a whole lot less as people would be worried about having the ability set gutted and changed to something they don’t need.

Honestly , People say he is not an Annhilus counter anymore and it’s just simply not true. He puts a stagger on him and nullifies the buff. This lets me know people are confusing the line between how certain interactions happen in the game and how they are affected.
So now that Annhilus is out the way, what else does Fate seal handle ? Resistor nodes? That’s a layup node. Champion boss? See previous vide.
I’m just concerned people don’t know what they are losing versus what they are gaining and can’t tell the difference.
What I find funny is they can't just add Fate Seal in his sp 2 followng the fiasco. They can nerf champs right before release, why can't they buff 'em?

I have a dog in this fight, as you call it. The dog just isn't called Hood. And it's multiple dogs. They're called Blade, Magik, Dormammu, Morningstar, Ghost Rider, Domino, Sentinel, Mister Sinister, Medusa.
Champions that, Imo, aren't 100% out of the question for future updates. At least not 100% enough for me to be confident in them staying untouched. With this update to Hood, I just can't be certain any longer that Kabam will leave my investment in those champions alone. They could lose any and all value they had to me at any time.
And a few words on the Mags/OML comparisons being made by some in this thread:
Oml would only work as a comparison to Hood if hood had had his fateseal replaced with a Buff immunity debuff or a normal Fate seal debuff. Or, the other way around, if Oml had actually lost his regen completely. You can say this is where you draw the line for champion changes, but if this was the line, Hood'd be over seven mountains beyond it.
Mags lost his sp3 tank. But, afair, his damage cap was like 20% of his max health. That's better than dying to an sp3, but in a fight where you tank one sp3, you're likely to tank several more, especially with a noodle like og magneto. That's as if Hood's fateseal had only applied on every 3rd sp2 and only had a 50% chance to nullify and prevent buffs.
The healblock on the other hand was just transferred to a synergy, as well as the 105% heal reduction against metal. He's honestly a better healblock champ than he used to be. That's as if Hood's fateseal had been replaced with Buff immunity on his sp2, but only against cosmics, but with the right synergy, his heavy still applied the hexseal.

Not really. Nullifying the power gain allows him to bypass the huge coldsnap damage and Vision can gain multiple power gain buffs at a time. That video precisely proofs my point where Hood needs Stagger and Fate Seal for excellent buff control. The power gain and coldsnap is what makes Vision Aarkus an annoying defender.

There are literally multiple other cases which have been mentioned multiple times on this thread. Read Cat Murdock's write-up. Even for general usage too, that hex seal was useful for immediate nullification as in suppose any buff has slipped through your stagger, if you are at an sp2, you could immediately nullify with a fate seal.

Even if he has decent damage, he's lost his uniquity as an underrated but killer buff controller and now he'd be an alright damage dealer among an expanding sea of them.
Sure he could be a great damage dealer, but what you don't seem to get it that people know he's worse because he doesn't have what made him so good anymore, no amount of damage can replace utility.
Honestly , People say he is not an Annhilus counter anymore and it’s just simply not true. He puts a stagger on him and nullifies the buff. This lets me know people are confusing the line between how certain interactions happen in the game and how they are affected.
So now that Annhilus is out the way, what else does Fate seal handle ? Resistor nodes? That’s a layup node. Champion boss? See previous vide.
I’m just concerned people don’t know what they are losing versus what they are gaining and can’t tell the difference.
He doesn't just lose out on Fate Seal, he also loses out on 65% AAR. Fate Seal literally handles any matchup with buffs to take advantage of and I can't just tell you how much AAR also covers.

You are getting disagrees because you missed the point that is everyone is complaining that they are changing the core utility of the champ for which people ranked him up. Don't be melodramatic, you are getting disagrees because you are posting without understanding what exactly people are even arguing about here.
Like I said.. I get everyone is crying about fate seal being removed.. my point is, I want to see the build before I cry about it. Yes, something has been removed. It's like if corvus's immortality was removed, ghosts phase, or nicks LMD.. but I'd still want to see what they bring to the table.. if I don't like what they've given me.. then I'm sending it back.

Suppose someone's ranked up Nick for his LMD and cheat death. Kabam decide to buff him since the bar is so high and remove the LMD with a bleed immunity and more damage. The build might be great, the bleed immunity might be a good addition but that someone ranked Nick for his LMD and that's gone. That leaves a utility spot in that person's roster. That's what people are worried about. We are now ranking up champions for their niche uses and if Kabam continue doing this, they might have those niche uses removed.
Theoretically, I'm not affected in the slightest by the Hood changes, since not only I do not have him as 5* / 6* and I do not run a Ghost team either. But the one member that called it out exactly as it is, is @Worknprogress.
This is a direct attack to those that use Ghost paired with Hood to mitigate Recoil damage and also fight Cosmics in the path (against whom Ghost has class disadvantage). Let's stop beating around the bush and hiding behind our fingers. Now, you have to take another Mystic with you, making Ghost even more unpractical to use.
It also affects, certainly, players who ranked up Hood as a stand-alone champ. They are also fully entitled to complain since the core mechanics of the champ are affected.

If you still think people are only complaining about the hood’s fateseal, and not about the precedent it sets that kabam can alter or straight up remove huge parts of champions kits in place of damage, then you simply aren’t listening. And it’s worthless trying to talk to you.
I’ll give it one last go. I don’t care how much damage hood gets. If he doesn’t get a lot, it’ll be a bitter moment- that kabam removed his ability for no reason. If he does get a lot, I still won’t care, it’ll still be dangerous that they removed utility, and I would be worried that kabam could take any champion I want to rank up that aren’t the top in their class, and change them.
They way you’re talking kind of suggests to me you may not be towards the end of the game, and that is absolutely fine. (Of course it’s fine if you are, but really you should know by then) But you seem to be prioritising damage over utility, utility is more important. All the damage in the world is useless if your opponent kills you in 10 seconds because you don’t have the utility to deal with it.
Not to mention we have lots of damage dealers in the game, Hood getting mediocre damages will not make up for the lack of utility, hood getting insane damage will not make up for the lack of utility. I am now worried to rank up my Gladiator Hulk, my Ronan, my Mysterio, because what if kabam change the face me, stun lock or poison immunity I rank them up for? What am I supposed to do, an end game player with almost every big damage champion in the game at 5* r5 and CGR, Ghost, Doom, Nick etc all at 6* r3? I don’t care if Ghulk gets some burst damage, I wanted to use his face me.
And I don’t care if hood gets burst damage, I wanted to use his buff control

Hate to break it to you, but your stagger was saving you in that not your fate seal , with his buff that fate seal will not be necessary. It happens in this video consistently. Your video literally proves my point , he will have way more staggers and more damage.

I don’t have significant resources in hood.
I do however have resources invested in champions with other niche uses, like Ronan.
When they announced their buff schedule I never considered champions like hood, Angela and masacre for a buff, so clearly the bar has been set pretty high for champs that aren’t requiring a buff, which puts other champions with niche uses in line for a buff.
I am simply here to try and make it clear to Kabam that when they’re buffing champs that have niche but commonly used uses, like Ronans stun lock, or Gladiator Hulks face me, they should build upon their original ability set, not remove parts of it for different abilities.
If they insist on scrapping some of their key abilities, then rank down tickets should be provided for those that will no longer have use for the changed champion.
If they cannot atleast give us this guarantee then they will have damaged the health of the game as any champion that isn’t rated top 3-5 in their class Will suddenly be ranked up a whole lot less as people would be worried about having the ability set gutted and changed to something they don’t need.

Champions that, Imo, aren't 100% out of the question for future updates. At least not 100% enough for me to be confident in them staying untouched. With this update to Hood, I just can't be certain any longer that Kabam will leave my investment in those champions alone. They could lose any and all value they had to me at any time.
And a few words on the Mags/OML comparisons being made by some in this thread:
Oml would only work as a comparison to Hood if hood had had his fateseal replaced with a Buff immunity debuff or a normal Fate seal debuff. Or, the other way around, if Oml had actually lost his regen completely. You can say this is where you draw the line for champion changes, but if this was the line, Hood'd be over seven mountains beyond it.
Mags lost his sp3 tank. But, afair, his damage cap was like 20% of his max health. That's better than dying to an sp3, but in a fight where you tank one sp3, you're likely to tank several more, especially with a noodle like og magneto. That's as if Hood's fateseal had only applied on every 3rd sp2 and only had a 50% chance to nullify and prevent buffs.
The healblock on the other hand was just transferred to a synergy, as well as the 105% heal reduction against metal. He's honestly a better healblock champ than he used to be. That's as if Hood's fateseal had been replaced with Buff immunity on his sp2, but only against cosmics, but with the right synergy, his heavy still applied the hexseal.
