Why battlegrounds is the worst format they created.

First of all Battlegrounds CAN be a lot of fun when things go right, however that is very rare.
Way back when BG was in early beta everyone loved it. Then they added the tracks. The victory track is an okay idea with a horribly bad execution. “Lets take the sweatest players, mixed them with the casuals, and have them fight it out for rewards. “
Idk, doesnt sound like much fun for anyone other than the try hards. But thats not the big problem.
Arguably, those two groups would separate after the 1st week or so, so not a major issue. The issue is the design. Having to win 3 matches + or - is ok but having people lose “wins” is a major design flaw for casual players.
Sure the try hards dont care, but the ppl only playing 3 matches a day it becomes bad.
Lets count the feel bads.
1. You lose the match. Ok it happens to everyone but it is a fee bad.
2. Now the awesome win you just got is take away. Hope you enjoyed it while it was there!
3. God help you if the game glitched for some reason between defenders going unblockable to parry not working to abilities not triggering, ive seen it all.
Ohh, and lets not forget about matchmaking.
So why should anyone who is not competitive play this format???
All you do is make ppl feel bad every third match.
Can you can really blame ppl for hacking it when kabam can make it fair and enjoyable from the start.
Obviously, dont hack but if someone just did it for the milestones and didnt affect the competitive players would you blame them???
Kabam has locked the best store in the game behind the most painful experience in the game. All to make an extra few dollars on victory shield.
Its shameful,
I encourage ppl to play it as little as possible
Thank you

This, so this.
I've already pretty much stopped. Dead game mode you feel compelled to play only because of the rewards.
We each enjoy different aspects of the game more than others, and choose how much of each mode to play. Some people grind their soul away in the arena 20 hours a week so they can be "free to play", where others choose to spend some money to skip that mode that.
Some people don't do wars, some do the best they can without using items, and some spend more on war than any other mode.
there will always be a group of players that take it super seriously. They will do tournaments, and might even make some youtube boasting and or ranting videos. That's fine... that doesn't mean we all have to do it.
9 times out of 10 I choose to do my 3 matches every 2 days, get the low hanging fruit rewards, and that's it. Other items I have an itch to play the mode or to get more rewards and do more.
one thing very important is to make sure you are in an alliance of people with similar goals. If 20 people want to shoot for alliance top rank rewards, and 10 people barely want to touch the game mode... that will be a problem, no different than people who have different goals with AQ or AW.
The part about hacking sounds like you’re trying to justify people doing it though, so no, they aren’t justified in hacking just because of the format
Most youtubers and (some) forum users can't relate because they are playing competitively, the casual players perspective almost never gets brought up. Even if it does it will get disagreed into oblivion.
They should just start people one/two tiers below where they ended up last season and have the rewards they miss out for that skipped progression be in the solo event milestones. I think DNA suggested something like this in a prior thread. This kinda separates the those playing competitively to get into higher tiers/gc and those just playing casually.
It's a mobile game that allows us to choose, with how little or large amount of time to play... we want to make sure we prioritize and spend our time wisely. Ultimately, to grow our account.
The competition side of BG is fun, and I'm not talking about "participation trophies", but what sucks about this mode is the losing of tokens. Finding time, energy and resources to get back to where you just were, so you can try again. When you're playing quest you don't go back to the beginning after losing a couple of guys on your team...keep going or you could always revive them.
It's especially hard to sort out with all the other modes provided on where to spend your resources. You want to know for sure you are going to get something back in return (NOT taken away). You basically, run a Cost Benefit Analysis in your head every time you pick up your phone to play.
There are too many things that are out of our control with the game that balances between making it fun and exciting while also disappointing and frustrating. Most players don't mind the natural "ups and downs" that go along with ANY video game. But when matchmaking isn't quite fair then RNG drafting isn't going your way after a while... to go along with the massive amounts of lag, glitches, modders and bugs with the mode. It really makes a lot of us start to stop and wonder if this is really worth it. Clearly a lot of us are venting our frustration on forum...some good some bad but it's all helpful.
Maybe it used to be worth playing but now it's not...so do you keep going or try to analyze what has been going wrong that makes you not succeed (roster, fighting style, no $$$ unfortunately etc) then keep going?...because it was so much fun OR step back and try to really analyze the BS so you can move on to something more worth your time and more enjoyable?
BG COULD be awesome!!! But there are too many variables that's holding it back from its full potential.
After there have been a number of seasons, people are starting to wonder...
There is a sense of entitlement.. since the reward is showing i should be able to get it...
😆 🤣 😂
And there is a KEY part on his post...
"So why should anyone who is not competitive play this format???"
Its the closest thing to a PVP competition!!!.. why would u participate if you are not being competitive?.. just to get the tshirt that says u were there and swipe the rewards??
And or course you are going to face account biggers than you.. its a compentition...
This is not arena where u lose a streak and get a chance to get it back.. its not a quest where u die and call unit man to revive and keep going...
Its the mcoc format of PVP, sure they toss around a few rewards to keep it interesting and incentive playing.. but as the OP stated.. IF "you are casual and don't compete" why worry about climbing up and collecting the rewards? Is it really about the game mode or the rewards that they can't reach?
He even mentions modders and hackers and in his own way justifies them... I doubt modders mod for the "experience of the game mode"
The meta stuff is not fun (victory streaks, progression in VT and in GC).
What people commonly ignore when complaining about “great rewards bad experience” is that if you want a better experience (for example separating players into different tiers) that will probably mean worse rewards. Just look at how unrewarding Incursions seems to be.
Easier often means less rewards.
You can bet that if the mode was ‘easier’ for Paragon or Uncollected if matchmaking changed, they wouldn’t be happy with Thronebreaker level rewards being decreased to Cavalier level rewards.
So Kabam has put the "best" rewards behind work... 🤔
No they put it behind system deliberately designed to set you back.
If you lose the boss fight in eop do you have to start the quest over?
If you lose in 6.4.6 do you have to complete 6.4.5 again b4 being allowed to do 6.4.6?
The work is their either way, but making ppl redo what they have already accomplished for 0 rewards is just dumb.
I agree that Incursions is unrewarding...usually...unless you are desperate for gold 😆
Absolutely 100% agree!!!
If you die to a boss in any fight, you can say “ well i took iff “x”% of his health let me buy a revive and continue. Your encouraged to do so.
In bg, if you die, you can’t continue for where you were at so you a set back.
No other part of this game has this effect. The only way not to is to gamble 90 units on a shield you may not have needed.
At least you knew you needed to revive. This makes even winning the next fight a feel bad because now you spent units on something you didnt even need.
As a game, feel bad moments are going to happen, but as a developer i would thing you try not to have them back to back to back

U even justify modders cause of the level of frustration.. yeah i'm pretty sure people beat 6.4.6 with mods just for the gaming experience...
Make the current BGs completely random matchmaking in the VT, which feeds into the GC.
Make the 2nd BGs prestige matchmaking w/o access to the GC and lower rewards.
