If the content can't be cleared without item usage, then it's badly designed. Period.
I don't think I agree with this as a blanket statement. The necessary caveat is that the avenues to resources in games should be able to supplement the challenge for a reasonably skilled player. There is nothing inherently wrong with something not being one-shottable or requiring items. The problem is when that challenge exceeds avenues of natural acquisition de facto. Pairing champion restrictions with marathon Everest content after taking away one of the few methods of storing excess revives means we’re getting dangerously close to unit required endeavors which leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I said when the revive farm was nerfed that my reaction would depend solely on content tuning and this doesn’t bode well in my opinion…
Ill probs do the 7.3.6 but wont be till i ranked up the 5 star but i had hopes these be fun till i saw grief and gm gauntlet against bleed immunes with a bleed champ
I’m also really confused as to why Kabam removed the revive farm then immediately started pushing out ridiculously difficult and expensive garbage content. Like I know they’re a business but come on, they’re 2 for 2 on post-revive farm content being a total mess for a large portion of the community
Ive got to theory craft really hard before I pass judgement. Lags and Karate already seem passable. The EOP one… as I said Ive been staring at it and I see some potential problems. If the roadblocks are as bad as Im thinking then, without large unit reserves, this will be the first example of content which seems to not be able to exist in a game without a revive farm. For a company which seemed to boast about Necro engagement they seem to brush the very obvious point that access to revives padded that figure generously…
Tolerable? Do you really think that? I would like to see how Korg will be killed in the grandmaster's glove.
For those comfortable intercepting this probably wont be the worst fight. Zemo can even ignore the evade and charges thanks to noncontact attacks and evade accuracy reduction. If you can get him ramped it will be a relatively ok time. There are other fights that should worry you more.
I’ll be upfront and acknowledge that my skill level hovers really high in comparison to the community at large so my metrics arent the same. That being said I consider these challenges to be for people who truly need something to test them as well. Its a balance and not a fair one I admit
Honestly, I feel like the term "challenge" has different meanings to different people. For me, a challenge is something I can work towards, struggle to accomplish, but do and feel proud. Over half these challenges aren't something I can reasonable do even if I had the relevant r5 champs, unless I spend tons of money on revives to just grind through it. That's not a fun game, and it doesn't entice me to try harder. If anything, I think we're all getting a little burned out by the endgame content being too difficult for the average player with rewards not being worth the time and frustration.
Betwenn Fintech's challenges and Absorbing Man in WoW, it feels like Kabam is trying to kill the game. Like they just want to move on to something new already.

I haven't felt this way in a very long time tbh. I'm genuinely heated. Especially after necropolis

This was actually one of the reasons Kabam said they nerfed the farming. They said if it went unchecked they would have to make insanely hard content to match the amount of revives people could get. Either they forgot they nerfed the farming and are making the stupid content, or it would have been way worse than this.
the problem with these "content creator" fights, challenges, events ... whatever is that they're always created with the highest of skill in mind. it's like asking a bodybuilder to create a weight lifting challenge and then wondering why the minimum is a 500lb dead lift ... sure just go buy a lot of steroids.
i keep saying it .. there are difficult fights that are designed with a level of thought and care ... and then there are these kinds of things that are designed with zero thought beyond let's just think of something that'll take a lot of units, revives etc so they can keep playing the game. and that's just not the point.
the point of "end game" content should be to test skill not wallets.
I will say though, these are in line with some of the other stupid Carina challenges they have rolled out before. Some of LOL and Abyss challenges were on par with these.
Thank god for lagacy for putting out something remotely reasonable for the deathless piece.
The others are laughable for the rewards. We’re looking at necropolis level of resource investment for merely exclusive 7 star champions, not game changing rewards like necropolis Just imagine getting through gauntlet domino with a skill champ alone
Apparently these CCP members had to test their own challenges ... I wonder now if some of these were even done with minimum ammount of items spent, or how they were even approved if that wasn't the case
Seems like it's content for the content creators. Helps get them views on their channels so it's a win-win for them. Not going to be a Debbie Downer 30 minutes into content release. May end up being a good time once people get acclimated to it.
Personally, won't be doing the Tigra/JP one since I don't have Tigra ranked past r3 and JP sits at r1. I didn't bother with Grief Incarnate to begin with even with access to all my champs. Did dupe the 7* Mojo, so may give that one a shot.

Yeah they tested them on the beta server where items cost 1 gold 😂

I think it's the fact that these extremely difficult challenges don't feel optional like they used to. If you didn't want to do Necropolis? That's ok. You'll be just a bit behind.
But locking Deathless behind broken/extremely insanely difficult content -- or 5000 units! -- is what makes this feel like I'm stepping back.
These challenges are terrible. Definitely a hard pass for me. If the content creators knew what the rewards were for this when they came up with their challenges, then they are seriously out of touch and I question their judgement.
The rewards would need to be MASSIVELY upgraded to make it worth attempting these challenges. Only Lagacy put in something even remotely reasonable.
Just skip the challenges, they are 100% not worth it.
Kabam - is there a way you can just remove these from my Carina challenge tab so I don't need to see them and be reminded what a bad job was done on these ever again?

I was someone who went for as many solos as possible when EOP was around because Im a challenge chaser (also done an itemless EOP run/itemless gauntlet run). I’ve definitely done a few of the fights using tigra. One or two with Jabari. My big issue are how bad the roadblock fights will be. If you are genuinely meant to go at those 5% at a time then kabam could have just as easily put the “challenge” in the unit store as a purchase and saved us all some time
I'll be waiting until the day I pull 7* versions of zemo and tigra before I ever even attemp those two challenges. However long it takes for kabam to release them as 7* that is. 😔
I called it that apart from legacy I don't trust other 2 for player friendly chalkenge and everyone smashed disagree button. I am happy now that I was absolutely right.
Karatemike challenge is worst...idk and also only his challenge includes 2 challenges..first one has no reward...
And what the garbage in 6* selector... except tigra and Zemo...and for these garbage 6* kabam was saying it is ultra hard and we mean it... really disappointed...
The game should be having exciting content so that anyone can have fun...but this game is just getting boring lame...
I am happy with my current roster..I am valient explored necropolis...thats it..dont wanna be part of this madness..
