Screw it. Bring side quests back permanently.
It's not like I can miss out on the day and then I've lost out on those rewards.
Now it's like: if I miss out on a day, I'm going to miss out on an entire week's worth of rewards, and potentially have limited / no access to next month's event.
Like, why?
If one set of objectives comes out every week, players have to assume that *on average* they have to complete each set in about a week. If they take four weeks to do this one, or five or six, how are they expected to complete the rest? They can't assume there will be enough time to do that.
The only way it would be reasonable to expect players to complete these objectives in more than one week is if they knew with reasonable certainty that downstream objectives will take a lot less than a week: that they would be substantially easier to grind out. But they can't know that without knowing what they are in advance. The safe assumption is to assume they will all be as time consuming as this one.
I'm also assuming that a player only attempts one tier of objectives. I don't believe players should automatically assume they will be able to grind out every tier of this kind of stuff all of the time. But even limiting to just one tier series, which is 100 fights ending with special, that's a lot to achieve for most players in a week. And if they take more than one week, will it be their fault if they run out of time doing week 3 or 4 or the October events? If so, they don't really have multiple weeks to do this.
Really making me consider putting the game down lately with everything going on
If this image loader works like I think it will, you can see that you only have to do ONE set of the objectives, not all of that. Kabam is smart enough to not limit an event to just the super grinders. Once you get the title at the end of you solo objective, then you don't have to do any more. If you need it any clearer, YOU DON'T HAVE TO FINISH ALL SETS. You guys are giving a lot of **** for a misunderstanding you made.
So you still need to do atleast the 100 6* ending with a special, then do week 3, week 4 and week 5.
Both UC and Cav difficulty are full of 6* champs. So by my calculations there are 210 fights per tier for full exploration. 100 fights is about half of a difficulty tier. That's not easy, but that's not super difficult either. However, it can be very tricky to end every fight on a special attack. If you're fully exploring both, a reasonably attentive player should be able to do that as a matter of course. And few people can autofight through UC. But if you're only doing UC, your burden is much higher: you have to end half your fights on a special. That's a much trickier proposition, and that's not factoring in the fact that many players are likely to have completed a lot of that tier by now.
The real problem is 5*. Only the Master tier has them: Heroic has 3* and 4*, and UC is all 6* (as far as I double checked). Moreover, Master is not full of 5* champs either. The first three seem to have 4* paths and 5* bosses, while the last three maps have all 5* champs. That is, if I've added right, 129 fights of 5* champs including the boss fights.
Now we're cutting things very close. You need to end 78% of those fights on a special without slipping up, assuming you haven't completed any part of it yet. If you've done more than four paths in the last three maps (not each: combined) you're out of fights and now have to go farm them elsewhere.
These objectives are not easy to do just by playing through the monthly quest. 6* is not hard *if* you're doing both UC and Cav and *if* you haven't cleared too much of it yet. 4* is harder but doable if you explore Heroic and Master. 6* is equally hard if you're not exploring Cav. 5* is very tricky to do just by doing the monthly quest, because there's just significantly less 5* fights that exist on the maps.
If you're an arena grinder, its probably fine. But if you're trying to farm these objectives while running monthly content, that's not as easy as it might appear if you're focused on the 6* objective which is the easiest one in theory to get for high progression players that explore everything anyway. For everyone else, this is not something you can just get while playing normally. You could easily run out of fights.
It's not about a specific champ, it's the tediousness of the actual objectives.
As @Savage123456789 points out, if you use a special to kill an opponent, and they wind up left at 1%, you're left with no power, so you've got to stand there parrying to build back your power again. Another terrible scenario is of you have a champ that inflicts a DoT as part of the special. Hype for example. Easy to gain power, but if the special 1 leaves them at 1%, the incinerate that comes with it will kill them.
It's a poorly thought out event, and I really can't find the logic in saying to use G2099.
It still needs to be said that you guys keep taking poor design decisions that continuously miss the mark. It really feels like you’re just not on the wavelength of your customers and player base.
This isn't a job. But this objective is making it much harder and laborious than it needs to be, and gives the same feeling as having to actually work. In a mobile game.
I understand that this objective is now in place, but I humbly ask that before you release the following weeks objectives that you look at the amount of time it would REASONABLY take to complete and adjust them accordingly.
