But even befor that he could sp2 spam with MD. Plus it can only be done twice in a row because they fate seal will prevent future buffs anyways for a short while and it's not like they buffed the sp2 damage or anything. If Kabam wanted to tune him down, they should have done so with the new abilities, not his old. Give him a cap on power gain or something. Actually implement invisibility properly with cooldown. What loosing fate seal is to Hood is loosing the debuff shrug-off for Elsa.

If he would have been more powerful than doom then they should have toned down his new kit, not his old one.

I’ve already posted that he needed dmg, and a couple different ways of doing so. He didn’t need said whole new kit, lol

I'm displaying a point. Everyone seems to be the foremost expert on what's too powerful and what isn't, but people don't look past the layers of one Ability, much less the whole kit, or even the entire game. It was more than the intended goal for him. The idea with these is to bring the lower somewhere closer to the middle. At least from what I've seen. Not to make older Champs the next best thing. As much as people hold out hope that older Champs will become that much greater, no company is going to reasonably buff the older material to be as appealing as the new additions. That would be counterproductive.
Sometimes I question your ability to read because literally everyone in this discussion except for you and @Texas_11 is in agreement that the Hood did not need a new kit. His old kit was jampacked with utility, he did not need an overhaul of his abilities to "bring the lower somewhere closer to the middle".
I promise you, most of us have looked through his kit and it's undeniable that the removal of fate seal, among other changes (reduced stagger duration, can't refresh staggers shocks fate seal on heavy, different invisibility mechanic, etc.), make him a completely different champion. If this update was given to a champion like Diablo, great. We would have all rejoiced that a terrible champion got an overhaul to his old, bad kit. The Hood did not have an old, bad kit however, as he clearly had his high level uses in this game with his impressive fate seal and buff control.
I would ask you the question of "How would you feel if your favorite champion, who was completely usable, had a whole redesign out of the blue?", but then again, it seems you never care to sympathize with others, so why would you care?
Would I like it? No. Would I get over it? Sure.

No game in the fight here, but I do think of all the negative things Kabam has done, having a Kabam mod continually post in this thread saying there's no solutions yet but it's still being discussed is a massive positive, something we as a community have been asking for as long as I remember.
I sincerely hope a solution is found that satisfies all the people who loved old Hood and the people who love new Hood.

Well I believe it has less to do with Hood and more to do with the method of removing something that people have come to depend on him for, in place of a rework. I'm with you. Mine never gets touched. However, apparently those who use him, use him mainly for that Ability. There's also a concern of a precedence. That's the argument in a nutshell. I'm curious myself how they came to that decision. The rest I don't agree with. Giving him the Fate Seal AND the Damage AND the unintended Regen is just too extra.

Hood was one of my first r4 champs and I used him extensively back in the day. I never took him above r4 due to having newer champs that were higher prestige, but still used him a good bit. Now he’s totally different from pre buff AND post buff after I took my 6* to r2. I initially was ok with the buff after playing him, then after ranking him up he’s completely different from the champ I ranked. This is unacceptable. I had to come on the forums to find out why he wasn’t working as before the rank up. Now I’ve lost resources I wouldn’t have used. Of course the community is pissed. Tons of us got the same shaft !
Sadly, I did rank “buffed” Hood thinking that his regeneration would be useful for questing. Within hours, I saw the announcement that the regeneration was merely a “bug” and going to be reverted. I sent a ticket to Kabam requesting my materials back, as I would never have proceeded on The Hood’s other merits. They have ignored me thus far.
During the Hood's "buff", Kabam decided to remove one of the core (signature) ability from the champion. I personally was okay with it because of the increased damage, 100% miss mechanic and sustainability with suicides. All of that overshadowed the nerfing aspect for me... But now You gonna nerf his regen? That's was one of the main thing why he was so exiting after the update, especially after losing one of his main ability...I just tested him against Abyss Medusa and his nullifying abilities no longer can handle her. She autoblocks him almost all the time and build-ups her furies very often. But still, because of damage and suicides compatibility, I still was happy about changes.. Now it's getting a mess.
There's a way you can hit hood even while he's invisible. So does that mean Rogue can steal his invisibility buff and become invisible herself!?!?
She can steal it, but I don't think it will work for her. Kind of like ice armor from iceman, you can steal the buff, but it does not mean your damage is capped at 5%.

Guys some people have now ranked up the new hood based on new abilities so say bye bye to the old one they are definitely not gonna be reverting him back unfortunately that said the only things happening I can see is 1) they ignore us 2) they give RDTs thats it, I dont like any option tbh I just want a clarification of what's gonna happen from here on out. Should we expect that any ability can change on any character?
They will give us some info in 30+- hours, I believe. Also why not? Give rdts, revert his changes, rebuff him from scratch next month with community desires in mind.
I actually like the hood changes. I completely agree he lost what made him Hood before, but since I hated his kit before I like what he’s got going on now.
Are we really going to have to wait around for weeks before they make a decision, this kind of stuff just creates a toxic environment within the community.

TL;DR: Everyone is ticked because hood got nerfed in the place where people used him for, Kabam have done a piss-poor job at replying to the backlash and then we had a bunch of bickering amongst us.
There's also the people who ranked him post-berf because they thought some bugs were part of his new kit.
Really just a clusterfunk all around.
I feel no sympathy for those people to be honest. The regen looked broken as soon as I saw it. When you see a champion doing something not matching with the text and still take him up, you don't rank up the champ.
Hood's abilities read "When the stagger ends".
And to be fair, "ends" is quite a subjective term. Has it ended when it's replaced or when it ends without being replaced? Technically when something has been replaced, the original has "ended", but in terms of the game kabam have decided that that doesn't qualify. Anyone who didnt play Hood before his buff may not have known this was the way it always functioned, and as such would not know that it was bugged.
I feel for those people. Anyone who played hood before should really have known it was bugged.
If something looks broken as hell, you don't touch it. Similar to the side event some months back. As soon as you realize something is wrong, stop doing it. I admit Kabam's champion descriptions are very ambiguous, but the regen was too Op. It was 1% health every combo if at least one of your combo crits, tell me that is not broken.
If the description said ends without replacement, I’d 100% agree. But just because something “looks broken” I don’t think that’s enough. It’s a very subjective term.
Hoods regen matched his description of ending, it’s on kabam to communicate a bug which should have been obvious through testing, or update the description so it’s less vague.
It’s not on people to realise that kabam messed up when it’s something that isn’t as obviously broken. Plenty of champions regen, some more than Hood. Why is Hoods broken at once a combo? But Ghost rider can regen every hit for a period of time, or Morningstar can regen 20% of hits, or once a combo, or blade on demand when blocking.
I agree that in this case, we shouldn't expect the average player to understand that change was bonkers. I *do* expect veteran players to know better, and I *especially* expect players willing to speak on the subject of what's balanced or appropriate to know better. Most players just want to play the game, and I don't expect those players to appreciate the nuances of the game. I feel for those players who ranked up what they thought was a bonanza champ.
But there are players out there, who I won't single out, not all of them here on the forums, who seem to have very strong opinions on game design, but also want to claim they had no idea the regen was broken. That's laughable.
The original intent of the stagger in Hood 1.0 and also in the updated Hood 2.0 is you get one heal per stagger effect. When the stagger triggers, you get the heal. The heal on expiration is the consolation prize if there's nothing to stagger. But heal on refresh is tantamount to heal on every crit regardless of stagger mechanics, and anyone who thinks about the game in anything more than a casual passing way should at least be suspicious of such a thing.
Overall, the responsibility is Kabam's, because they have to account for the average player. But that doesn't mean everyone is free to claim complete ignorance in conversation, unless they want to state for the record they are oblivious.
