So I’m on iOS 12 beta 2 iphone 7+ definitely runs cooler, still experience lag/stutter and parries/evades that don’t register. Had 1 black screen crash so far (phone wasn’t even that hot) but that’s better than it was on 11.4
I suspect that the processor throttling when it’s being overworked is just better on the beta which would explain why it doesn’t get as hot, but still experiences the issues, just not as often.
Take a look at the rating and review of the latest version of the game in Apple App Store. It is literally littered with 1 star ratings about how bad it’s locking up people’s devices; iPad and iPhone both.
Make sure to hit the App Store and add to those 1 star ratings then. They can’t just ignore this thread and hope it goes away.

Bad thing is, once a new version is released it’s kinda reset if I’m not mistaken
Come on Kabam... 40 pages of people having the SAME issue and you can’t find a fix?
Hundreds of your community can’t participate in new events and quests and arenas and it’s been 3 days.
Issue a statement and warning so players don’t ruin there devices. Put in game stuff on hold until this is worked out. EVERYONE on iOS 11.4 or older is not able to play this game at the moment. Fix your app guys.
I just got my S9 and the pic I posted is the same thing I get no matter what I click on. I have no issue exiting the game but I am not going to play as long as there's a threat with over heating.
info . there is a new issue ALLIANCE QUEST BRACKET WRONG, now this problem is for members that can access the game and use boosters. I am not sure if we will get another update for overheating soon
O well , can't expect problems or fault to be fixed soon - just too many bug, failed patch 19.0 causing problems for members with overheating. it was suggested that members should iOS 12. to log on game to play

All my friends on ios devices having the same problems. This is not an isolated case. Even there is no 100k reports, that doesn't mean their devices are okay. Not all players join this forum.
Just downloaded a CPU/memory monitoring app because I was curious.
At rest just using monitoring app:
CPU: 10%
Ram: 70%
YouTube vid:
CPU: 40%
Ram: 75-80%
Mcoc main screen:
CPU: 30-60%
Ram: pinned at 98-99%
Candy crush is about 90%. Even strikeforce is only 93 to 95% RAM while PLAYING. Your game is pretty well maxing out memory just sitting there… Doing nothing. I think I found your problem :-)
My phone locks up freezes and becomes unresponsive. In game it restarts my phone completely. Phone is very hot and my battery is being drained at an alarming rate. When plugged in I can’t even fight because the controls are so out of whack.
This problem happens on Android also! The phone gets hot, and when the phone is hot? The game freezes, and lag like crazy! Ever since the 19.0 update this problem is something that I cannot ignore anymore! I'm not here to bash KABAM, but I really want a solution to this. Do I have to get a newer phone just to play a game I love? My phone is fairly recent, but some would call it old!

I am able to force restart, then most of the problems are gone. Regardless these 1.9 repercussions are unacceptable and quite disappointing. Please fix your game Kabam.

You’re phone is most likely going into safety mode because it’s overheating. The cpu throttles (runs At a slower speed) to try to reduce the heat build up thus doesn’t have the proper power to run the game. Does the game run smooth for a couple of fights then you start to see the game performance go down as your phone heats up? Wait for them to address the problem before spending money on a broken game - iPhone X users are also having the same issues.

Ever since the update my phone battery has been draining quickly.
I enabled power saving mode, but it has not helped out the situation. The device also gets hotter than it used to when using the Contest of Champions app.
As for the game itself, it has become glitchy and unresponsive in all game modes. A few examples:
- the game just stays loading at the title screen and needs to be shut down and opened again
- clicking on map nodes in Alliance Quest or the Antman Event Quest would not select a path for the icon to move and would just make the screen zoom in
- clicking the help box on Arena champions takes a long time to process
- attempting to dash in a fight just does a medium hit
- fights in all modes have moments with extreme lag and occasionally the game has frozen when this happens
If we ever needed evidence you don’t test your updates (not that we needed any more because it’s so ******* obvious you don’t) we have this bug which is most likely causing permanent damage to people’s phones.
Time to pull your fingers out and take responsibility for your incompetence and start doing some overtime, I imagine that’s what most would do with this many issues going on at once.
Seeing comments from moderators like we are looking at the interactions between the current build and IOS 11.4 seriously concerns me... do your developers not test your new builds against existing (and in this case current) operating system??
Suggesting we try and look at upgrading to a beta version of an operating system to help diagnose issues in Live code on a platform it’s “designed” to work on feels wrong and really doesn’t give me any faith in kabams Dev/Test & release cycle.

I appreciate no matter how good your developers are or how robust your testing sprints are bugs in code will always slip through the net but someone should be working around the clock on this with someone providing regular, clear and concise updates to the community. Not only because it’s good business practice and customer support but because we as a community are the ones keeping you in business.. we are the ones that spend ALOT of money on this game and we are the ones that have a voice.. How many downloads do you think you have had as result of someone suggesting MCOC to their friends??
There was a lot of talk about a boycott a few weeks ago.. there’s no need because with the current state of the game you can’t play it anyway!

I have the same issues that already mentioned by community. This is a generic problem - take a look the views/posts on this thread and do the math. And this is just a small portion of the affected players, as I can confirm that all Apple users that I know of experience the same problems.
You don’t give a solution to a problem that messes up our phones (within these days battery health went down 12%!!) or even consider a fallback, you don’t address the issue with all players via in game message, you keep game online and start AQ -bracket bug- and AW, you don’t communicate with us (this is an emergency situation and you should send us some feedback about your actions at least once an hour)
If I was responsible for all of the above, I would have been unemployed (trust me I work as a r&d engineer in tech supp and posts like “we can’t reproduce the issue” are a joke! Tell people the truth for once... testing team didn’t complete regression tests? You haven’t predict test scenarios for all of your code areas that 19.0 changed? Infinity loop passed?)
From my side I will proceed with the following actions:
- Negative reviews in store
- Contact Apple and raise a ticket explaining how your app affecting their devices
- Ask for a 4th of July refund (as I didnt have the chance to spend/open it)
- Support any petition, boycott, lawsuit related with your game.
