Hey all, I'm having this looked into. So, besides the fact that it looks like you need a non-merc to complete this fight, can you tell me exactly what the problematic experience with this Boss is? Want to make sure I get the info right for the team.
Healing is primarily dealt with using heal block or reversing. The vast majority of heal blocks in the game are debuffs, and the vast majority of reversing regen are debuffs too. The third way is overpowering the regen.
Here, this fight gets rid of almost every way to counter it. No debuffs are allowed, unless you use Apoc and mr fantastic. Or sabretooth with KM synergy. So you can’t reverse regen like that. MODOK and YJ are the only champions who can passively reverse regen, but MODOK can’t do it full stop, and YJ is a tough fight based on RNG of charges and of the opponent throwing specials.
Passive heal blocks are largely out of the question because no champions who have passive heal blocks are mercs, so you will have 5% damage while you passively heal block them. Also, likely class disadvantage since that’s a very tech trait - Peni, Psychoman etc
Outdamaging it is largely out of the question with the 5% reduction. Leaving you to try and out damage with a Merc. Domino is long but possible, sabretooth with the poison deadpooloid is possible but requires Sasquatch to ramp up.
It’s such a niche fight, you’re left with 3 serious counters and a bunch of ridiculous ones. Apoc, sabretooth or domino. And those are the “serious ones”
after years of playing, I really think I'll stop playing. I'm no longer in the mood for all these mistakes and stupids in the game. at least I'll save a lot of money on Black Friday

1) The 1% regen is too powerful combined with the 500% increase in Health. You can’t outdamage the regen and it overrides the degen from Smorgasbord. In fact, it doubles up with the regen from Smorgasbord making VP almost impossible to take down.
2) VP is essentially Stun Immune. You can’t parry VP because Smorgasbord purifies the Stun *even prior to* parry.
3) None of the Mercs have the utility to deal with these nodes. Or the bonuses for that matter.
Currently bugged game, with poorly tested content, and the result being an impossible final boss that needs a perfect fight with a combo of champs to get down (both not being the group of Champs this variant is intended for).... If you die, and you got to restart the quest... I'm officially boycotting cyber weekend sales now with this BS and the September and October tied side events that had poor notice and explanation. Thanks for the waste of time, resources, and units on this one Kabam. Unreal that I really enjoyed Act 7.3 in its entirety that I did right before this variant compared to this ridiculous Venompool fight. I really hope there's a compensation for this!

Because I'm 2 quests away and don't have time to do them right now because I want to get the information needed to help resolve the issues that players are having. I am not an expert on every piece of content that is released, but the people in this thread are the ones affected, so they have the insights that I lack.
@Kabam Miike how is it possible that someone from kabam is asking what the problem is? are you testing it before you put it live in the game?
Not all games devs work on the QA aspect of the game. That’s usually reserved for the QA team, and the select few devs who fix those particular issues. That’s how most companies I’ve worked for have done it.

Miike is a forum MOD...not a dev. Miike handles things on the forums. He doesn't have special access to quests and fights. He can't just hop into the game and play any fight he wants.

1st off they put nodes that no merc can counter the 1% regen
2 the 10 charges one. Only 2 champs can counter 1 is apoc with mr fantastic or sabre with km and mr fantastic and on top of that you need 3/3 in despair mastery
Was Harped on that this was not end game content yet they put act 7 nodes on final boss and made it a niche fight that no stand alone merc could do
Also the dpx fight is bugged to -100% chance throw specials yet is throwing special 3s left and right

In fairness, he may not have a role in the company that includes him involved in the testing process. I appreciate that he's engaging here and trying to get some feedback to put back to devs etc
Eh, we'll see how fast they change this boss, if they even change it at all. At least Miike is trying to do his part.
I was afraid of there being something ridiculous in his new Variant and I wasn't disappointed. 1% regen which is really just a resource bank thrown in at players especially the first to finish types. throwing as many or all of your resources at this was the intent.
and I asked them SPECIFICALLY, prior to this, if Variants really weren't intended to be end game content like they said they weren't but yet they continue to use end game nodes and combinations etc. so which is it really? what's the truth?

He is lvl 44, and trying to reach lvl45 to have this quest. Or maybe he is stuck on the bugged first boss or 2nd boss since they are both bugged
Sorry guys, I know this doesn't help, but i think it was Masacre that finished him with a sp1, flaming bat, then hit him after he fell, I tried w Domino and BWDO but he's the one who didn't it, don't know the logic behind it
Given the really narrow number of champions viable for the content it really does feel like Kabam have looked to increase the difficulty of this. If there were no champion limitations it wouldn’t be to bad, but this content really doesn’t feel well thought out.

But there was one condition to do it. You had to actually win the game you created before you could publish it

Took in 2 MrF. Died at 50% first try and went back in with prefight from other mrF
