I just don't know who this rewards system was designed for and as @nilaebran mentioned there are myriad ways in which Kabam could have made money from this game mode.
Elders Marks & the alliance/solo event structure disincentives F2P, progressing players, and minimal spenders (your money is better spent on Cyber weekend or Daily Cards), whilst the rewards are not sufficient for big spenders.
Why would a whale alliance demand that all 30 of its members spend multiple Odin's and the time it takes to do 600+ BG matches- for a chance of mats (alliance event) that they can buy cheaper in other offers?
Which whale is going to go ham (money and time) on the solo event for 6* shards and an AG they probably don't really need when it's quicker to buy cavs?
I understand that the game has to make money but this just seems poorly thought out all around and surely it would be more profitable to cast a wider net and encourage participation than the current system.
My suggestions would be: - Make scoring for the alliance event energy based. That means everyone can participate and get something back for contributing. The EM earned from that can then be used for the solo event. - Up the number of Elders Marks available through playing (Alliance Event or BG ranks) to cover hitting the solo event milestones.
That doesn't stop people spending to go beyond that and would give a reason for the rest of the player base to participate.

As of right now y’all have lost me. I played the hell out of the beta versions. Now with the removal of objectives just for playing and the pay for prize method of only getting milestone points for using elder marks, I played 3 matches and feel like it’s pointless. I loved it and was excited for it to refresh my love of the game and now on release I hate it more than incursions and i haven’t done those in almost a year.
Remove elder’s mark. Problem solved. That seems to be the biggest problem. We’re all tired of everything good in the game being behind a pay wall. And to get any objectives u have to have elders marks which cost. Do away with them.
One other thing I’ll throw in. I realize the point was to try to minimize players from throwing matches however by making the milestones basically only available to those who use elder marks you’ve turned battlegrounds into a year long gifting event. One of the biggest gripes in gifting was the fact that those with the highest bank accounts always got everything; top solo rankings, top alliance rankings, and because of the vast more crystals by default more resources. Battlegrounds was supposed to be more skill based but instead, yet again those with the largest bank accounts will get the top solo rankings, top alliance rankings, and by default way more resources just for playing while everyone else who doesn’t pay for the elder marks won’t even have the possibility for anything.

They're not gonna get rid of EMs so let's do away with the entry via energy. Give everyone 75 EMs a day (5 free plays a day). Add EMs as a reward for every win. Add EMs to every time you tier up. Add EMs to the 2-day objectives.
Basically, incentivize people to get into BGs then they'll spend to hit the highest levels. As of right now, there is no point in even trying to get into them.
@Kabam Miike The two things that have to be changed in battle ground in my opinion are: 1. Set a daily limit for rank matches( 3 matches for example) and make it more like AW season with a certain number of matches which will make BG avoid the grind feel and make it more competitive and skill and roster reliant (I have already suggested that during the battlegrounds beta survey). 2. allow regular energy usage to get points towards the solo and alliance event alongside elder's marks.
I don't know how I feel about the serious pay wall to compete in solo and alliance event. Not a single player in my alliance can be bothered with it and I can't blame them. If you could at least earn some elder whatever from solo rewards to be able to do alliance obviously with solo not depending on this elder thing. Or if you could at least exchange tokens for elder stuff. And who came up with the numbers in store? I can buy a number of elder thing that can't be divided by 15... Lol! Hard pass.
This is ridiculous...it takes around 100 matches to reach gladiator circuit, maybe even more Playing 10matches a day takes more than 1.5hrs... And this takes 10-15 days and rewards are not worth the grind... I'll just take a step back and play when I can from now on...goodbye to rewards
Please just change for participated on this event its payable one time or all time with or for exemple there is the only problem not 2 3 4 etc. Just paid only at shop battleground

I believe the select players are probably unpaid CCP members. Downside is they are mostly at the endgame stage of the game and may not represent the views of the majority of players (which I am guessing is f2p cavalier).

Please fix the mastery load out issue. That is a major plus for the game mode but it is not working. Arena masteries are not compatible with this current meta

First of all, this is my first ever long text posted here, and i will take some precious minutes of my life to do it.
I have already saw every comment here and i don't need to say what is very clear, about the rewards and how the system works.
Lets see this mode by another perspective - ENERGY AND TIMELIFE CONSUMING.
Lets make the perspective by a almost f2p account that buys the monthly units card and some promotions around the year, like cyber monday and so on. To be honest with you, at this state of the last year of the game, i have no aim to keep giving some kind of money to keep helping this game to survive anymore.
One of the MAJOR issue at this gamemode is to use the same energy you has to use in other contet (Monthly quest, side quest, farm potions, etc..) and the time it takes to achieve 1/2 of the milestones
For the ENERGY issue.
1 - It has been since 3/4/5 years that we have the same amount of energy max (70) no matter how often do you use your energy or not. 2 - You keep increasing the amount of time we need to achieve all the things into the game.
So lets do the maths
So we assume that you will NEVER leave the energy accumulated into your account.
Each energy costs you 6 minutes to refill, so 70x6 = 420 minutes, or 7 hours. 1 day (24 hours) has 1440 minutes. So the max amount of energy you could get waiting is 240 ENERGY To use this 7 hours waiting energy, lets say you play for around 15 minutes (Monthly event quest, side event quest, or whatever) For each 7 hours of waiting, you can play around 15 minutes. Fair enough? What about a day of waiting energy, you can play for around 50 minutes? Yes, this is the max amount you can play using your energy without use anything (aka refill).
Lets say you win 2 out of 3 matches in battlegrounds. You win 2 matches, and you loose, and you keeping doing this record. To achieve bronze 2 you will need 2 matches = 30 energy To achieve bronze 1 you will need 2 matches = 30 energy To achieve silver 3, you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve silver 2 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve silver 1 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve gold 3 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve gold 2 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve gold 1 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve platinum 3 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve platinum 2 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve platinum 1 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve Diamond 3 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve Diamond 2 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve Diamond 1 you will need 5 matches = 75 energy To achieve Vibranium you will need 15 matches = 225 energy
79 matches with a win ratio of 2 out of 3 (you win 2 matches and you lost 1 match). This is not worth for many of us, and i think is more than 100 matches to reach the vibranium tbh, but lets keep this 79 matches.
79 matches * 15 energy = 1185 energy or 7110 minutes or 118.5 hours or almost 5 days. For the example of 100 matches 100 matches *15 energy = 1500 energy or 9000 minutes or 150 hours or 6.25 days
So you must play around 5/6 days ONLY TO ACHIEVE the main reason of this mode has become? Thats non sense at all.
Ofc you can buy the shield to prevent it, but its not worthing and i am doing the perspective of a freetoplay.
Lets somme with another game modes.
Monthly event quest
1.1 = 40*3 = 120 energy 1.2 = 34*4 = 136 energy 1.3 = 34*5 = 170 energy 1.4 = 34*5 = 170 energy 1.5 = 57*6 = 342 energy 1.6 = 57*6 = 342 energy
to complete monthly event quest, you will need 1280 energy 1280*6 = 7680 minutes or 128 hours or 5.33 days
Ofc you need to farm revives.
lets assume you run 10 times to get revive and you get 80% of the time so 10 runs to get 8 revives
Each run you need to spend 40 energy, so 40*10 = 400 energy to get 8 revives Lets do it twice to have 16 revive monthly, so 800 energy at all.
800*6 = 4800 minutes = 80 hours or 3.33 days to have 16 revives lvl 1.
Side event quest? I have no idea why its keep charging, but lets do the math of this side event quest (september)
Lendary 9 energy*6 ways = 54 energy Epic 9 energy*6 ways = 54 energy 108 energy weekly = 4 weeks = 432 energy
432 energy = 2592 minutes or 43.2 hours or 1.8 days
Battlegrounds you must have 5/6 days of your life waiting energy to achieve the circuit Monthly event quest (cavalier) you must have 5.33 days of your life waiting energy to achieve 100% Monthly event quest (uncollected) you must have 5.33 days of your life waiting energy to achieve 100% Monthly side event quest (Epic and legendary difficult) you must have 1.8 days of your life waiting energy to achieve it. Farm revives you must have 3.33 days of your life waiting energy to achieve it.
Battlegrounds = 6 days Monthly event quest (cavalier) = 5.33 days Monthly event quest (Uncollected) = 5.33 days Monthly side event quest (Epic and legendary) = 1.8 days Farm revives (16 revives lvl 1) = 3.33 days
Totally amount of time waiting to get energy to achieve all of this things together = 21.79 days
Obviously this math is not 100% worth, because you will never ever will have the opportunity to use your energy all the time (You can go out with some friends and not playing at all, weekend doing something different, you can sleep more, you can do whatever you want and you still wont use the energy 100% efficiently.)
I cannot say more how toxic and life consuming this game is having at this moment. You cannot relax because you need to spend your energy to achieve everything at this game. The first ever thing i do when i wake up is to enter in some game mode and walk (to have a couple of minutes to do the things i usually do at morning) and after i can play.
To solve this i can give you 2 tips
- Why the heck you dont increase the amount of energy we can earn? What about having a max of 140/200/300, i dont know, and you can increase the price of energy refill to solve this issue for you? - Why we still having lvl 60 cap? What about the masteries 2.0? You can start increasing the energy by giving us more lvl too.
Please, give a specific energy to battlegrounds, like AQ/AW when somebody told you to do.

To separate matchmaking like this you'd have to also bracket off the reward tiers based on progression. Can you imagine the crying when Cavs or TBs were gated out of top tier rewards regardless of whether they had any chance of ever getting them in reality?

And this takes 10-15 days and rewards are not worth the grind...

My ally member(Cavalier) lost 5matches(75EM) to higher progression players(3 Paragon, 2 Thronebreaker).. And he is still in Bronze 3..
