Unbelievably greedy and disgusting to ask players to pay you more money for quality of life changes and game updates that should be given to everyone as part of the games natural growth and development. You're going to destroy this game if you continue down this route. You make crazy amounts of money from the RNG fiesta that is crystals and you have one of the most popular and most played mobile games in North America and yet you can't invest even the smallest bit of that money back into the game as a benefit to all your players? Pathetic.
I've been waiting AGES for these kinds of balance updates to come to the game and putting them behind a paywall instead of integrating them into the game as part of it's growth shows me that you don't value the games future and instead only care about short term gains.
- The number of rank up materials needed to level champs has steadily increased and yet the inventory hasn't increased at all. Inventory Limit Paywall - Veteran players who complete every single monthly quest, every AQ, every AW, every dungeon STILL DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH GOLD to rank up champions at a decent rate. Gold Quest Paywall - We've been stuck at 70 energy for years with no additional levels and no way to use experience and every month there seems to be more quests with higher energy costs. Energy Recharge Rate Paywall - Players at almost every tier in the game have overflowing resources and materials of lower tiers and we've been waiting for some kind of system to convert or use them. Exchange Market Paywall
These are all things that should be implemented to EVERYONE as part of the games natural evolution into higher tier champs needing more gold, resources, and energy. These are not changes you put behind a paywall unless you want to ruin your game.
You have a good game that makes good money without hamstringing the majority of the playerbase. This is so absolutely unnecessary. If you want us to invest in your game then you better be willing to do the same. Putting the balance of your game behind a paywall is the day this game dies.
I'm perfectly fine if kabam wants to introduce a subscription service, they need to make money and that's understandable.
HOWEVER, some of the services that they want to offer exclusively to subscribers are features that the community has been asking for for years and that should be a quality of life improvement for everyone. To me, the golden circle quests and +25% inventory cap should be free for everyone. Everything else, specifically the reduced quest energy timer, I think it's fine to be part of the subscription service.
You could even add in energy timer reduction to AQ and ONLY AQ, cause I'm fairly certain that people who are willing to subscribe would likely be playing map 5 and beyond of AQ anyway and would provide more incentive to subscribe if this was offered.
And let's face it, +20% experience is completely useless to most of the player base anyway.
I don’t say it to be mean, I just mean that that is a very “never shopping at this store again” mindset that doesn’t affect them in the slightest. Doesn’t accomplish much sadly.
I take issue with the spirit in which this content was introduced, as its fairly ham-fisted and abrasive to f2p people, but it is at least harmless walletwarrior fare as opposed to making it impossible to compete.
Maybe we’re communicating what we want from Kabam in a way that isn’t encouraging them NOT to monetize each individual aspect of the game from energy to featured 5*s. Thoughts?
Have it cost units to buy the battle pass. And have challenges under the objectives page that actually have like, ya know, actually helpful stuff. Revives, high level health potions, crystals, units. Half decent compensation for TEN DOLLARS MONTHLY
Clearly the Company has been listening to what the players want for the game but sadly instead of just putting it in the game for free they have put it behind a paywall.
I’ve played this game for over 4 years, I’m Cavalier and this subscription is the end to my spending and I might possibly even delete the game entirely out of principle.
All of these subscription “perks” should be free and standard in the game. Period.
To be honest, I don't have a big problem with the current inventory limit. What annoys me the most is that, specifically for the ISO section, that i do not have the ability to sell my ISO straight from the overflow. For example, I am saving t5 cosmic ISO to rank up a cosmic champ. In order to sell away any other ISO that is going to expire in order to not let it go to waste , I have to first sell away the t5 cosmic ISO I've been saving up, claim the everyone expiring ISO, THEN sell the ISO, which is just plain stupid.

If you want a serious reply, the answer is the playerbase is, in fact, encouraging them to monetize all aspects of the game. But that's not a bad thing either: I don't think it is a good idea to get into the weeds of deciding what parts of a game to monetize and which ones should be monetization-free. The more important question is the how of monetization, not the what. Keep in mind that everything in the VIP subscription besides inventory space is already part of a heavily monetized system.
A lot of people play this game completely for free. Most, in fact, play this game completely for free: that's the reality of free to play gaming. If you want to lower the amount of monetization in the game, you are in essence saying you want to force more free players to pay - because if the people paying now pay less, someone else has to pay more. That includes the people currently paying zero.
Maybe you're fine with having more people pay, but the free to play model relies in part on attracting lots of free players, from which some small percentage become paying customers. In effect, the free players are like the "foot traffic" in a shopping mall. The more people walking around, the more likely one of them will step into a store and buy something. So stores like to be where lots of people are milling around.
Instead of having everyone pay the same amount, the free to play model allows most players to pay nothing, but some players end up paying a lot more. Is it better than the pure subscription model where everyone pays the same amount and everyone gets the same game? The answer is: look at the size of playerbases for the two types of games. F2P as a whole decimates pure subscription.
How do you communicate to a game developer that they shouldn't use this model when it works? How do you communicate to a game developer that they should monetize less, and shift the balance of free and paying customers in a way that will generate less foot traffic? How do you convince them to do what we all claim we want them to do, but then turn around and spend our time and money on the games that do the exact opposite?
Up until now f2p have been able to catch up to those who spends by putting enough time in. Now they are widening the gap even more.
Don’t like it. One bit.
Spend then lol, it’s your choice.
£10 a month is hardly amything. Save 50p a day.
FTP cannot moan, as it’s your decisions not to spend
The main problem isn't that we are unwilling to pay, it's because kabam wants us to pay for features that should actually be included for free to keep the game healthy and attractive to everyone. They should include most of the stuff offered like increased inventory and golden circle quests for free, and then for subscribers include stuff worth subscribing for, like reducing AQ timer from 6 to 4-5 mins and perhaps unlimited the inventory. I'm sure lots of people would subscribe for those.
I will most likely subscribe to this but I do think the inventory increase shouldn’t be behind a paywall, the other stuff I can live with but think that the inventory increase is a bit rude to hide behind a paywall
I don’t like the idea of this subscription ****, but I guess Kabam is in desperate need of money. I won’t ever join but I hope a lot of other do so then maybe, just maybe they’ll have the money to fix the Help4 button.
I just wanna throw this out there. All the f2p players are complaining just don't get it. Why companies even offer f2p.......
It's not to graciously allow you to play an awesome game.....but you do get that benefit
They allow you to play for free so people can pay to have an advantage over you! You are here for us to fight. You are here to create the enviroment needed to get people competitive and want to pay to win.
The game owes you nothing. Of course kabam doesn't care about people who pay nothing. To them you are nothing but a part of the game they didn't have to program. Really you are either a f2p player or likely spend more than 10 dollars a month anyways. So don't think your f2p cries "your don't listen to the community" mean anything. Don't worry kabam the people who don't mind spending a bit for the value think this deal is pretty good.
That's a bit harsh. There's a little bit of "they are here for the paying customers to have someone to beat" but that's not really the main thing. F2P games are more like theaters. Of course, everyone pays to see a movie in a theater, but from the theater operator's perspective almost all the ticket revenue (at least early on: I'm simplifying here) goes to the movie distributors. For the theater owner, all those people are seeing the movie "for free" as in they don't really get paid for it. The theater really makes their money on concessions: overpriced popcorn and soda. Without that overpriced soda and popcorn, theaters would basically all fold.
A lot of people go to a theater to see a movie for the actual theater atmosphere. Otherwise they could just see it on Netflix or something, and skip the overpriced popcorn and soda. So in a sense, the people seeing the movie and not buying the overpriced popcorn and soda are part of the attraction for the other people: it is a social experience.
It isn't a perfect analogy because lots of people would be happy to see a movie in an empty theater, but the point is that the free to play players help make the game seem more interesting to play, because they help fill and expand the game. It isn't just about beating them, it is about the feeling that you're playing a game lots of other people think is valuable enough to spend time on. Free to play players are very important to an F2P game because they make the game more attractive to play, and because they are the prospective future customers of the game. You have to actually play the game to eventually be a customer of the game.
A free to play game that is not attractive to free players very quickly becomes a dead game.

I'm sure lots of people would want more Gold, but they still wouldn't manage it properly. People think Gold is an issue, but it's readily available in the game, and easily farmed. The problem is people want to spend it beyond the limitations of the design, and Rank 5*s and 6*s as fast as they Ranked 4*s. Unfortunately, they're meant to take time to Rank. The largest argument is for Gold because people have ample access to everything else. However, you will always have Bottleneck Resources. Add more Gold, and it changes to something else. Further to that, more Gold won't help people look at how they're spending it faster than they're investing into making it. Simply put, if you spend more, it will take more time to replenish. People don't want to wait. They want an easy solution you can get from a few Paths in a Quest. Very little blame on the system can be made in that case.
Wow, what an absolutely horrible and greedy addition to the game! This is a new low for you Kabam! The community has been complaining about energy costs, gold, and Inventory limits for years and your solution is to make us pay to fix it? Congrats! I’m officially done spending money on this game except for July 4th, Cyber Monday, and maybe my birthday.
Well, well, well. What a fist in the face = KABAM! Nothing good will come of this and it will simply drive many players away all for a quick buck. The next idea will be to demand some sort of payment to log in. Ridiculous
This is such a strange statement I literally do not know if it is serious or not. The idea to demand payment to log in is the *first* idea in online gaming, i.e. subscription based online games. Which were the norm until the free to play model came along to displace it. But such games still exist. It is unlikely that MCOC becomes one, but it isn't a ridiculous idea. The idea that you could give the game away for free and still be a viable business was the ridiculous idea, until it proved to be wildly successful in practice.
None of that stuff was ever broke. So you aren't fixing anything. Kabam isnt the first game to offer a subscription service either. 25% inventory increase really isn't that much anyway. They arent game breaking additions.

Don’t be a FTP player, and moan when something costs money; you can easily spend if you want to.

Hope the game developers distinguish and give the appropriate weight to serious posts like this.
