It is not "pointless" it is an anticheat measure. There are ways to alter the client, or even the data. You check periodically to ensure people are not doing that. This is one of the reasons why games with client servers, like Diablo have such a problem with cheating.

The bolded is not how the internet works. There are different paths to different servers, not all servers sit on the exact same node in the exact same place. If googles site can be unreachable to me, but still reachable by you, and still not be googles problem, but mine.

Void is way more than just a heal blocker/reverser. he is a way to passively dot defenders, and just as if not more importantly he shuts down power gain champs/nodes. He is one of the best utility champions in the game, and gets a HUGE boost from being awakened.

This affects more than just mutants and horseman buffs, it is affecting odin's buffs too, they are just way less used.

There is a bug with cross fights, characters are losing them after like 2 fights currently.

This does not appear to be a horseman issue specifically, but a cross fight issue. I had this happen to me on the buffed path in map 7. Now you are misrepresenting arguments. No one has said that people with only should not qualify, the argument is that they are not part of the target audiance, and them getting it is more so that the target audience is not punished.
