I was wondering the same thing, and I think the intent was to give ppl 12 free crystals, but they added more tickets to give ppl a little buffer so they wouldn't have to stress about getting every single free ticket. Pure speculation on my part, but I think it makes sense.

Same here. I didn't buy a huge number of tickets. I probably got 120-125 of the free tickets and bought enough that, with the tickets from accolades, I will get the 6* Sinister deal on top of the 7* one. I always assumed I would not be getting the points for purchase.
