Remember when everybody thought Corvus Glaive was going to be useless? Or when everybody hated Ghost? Did you know that Dr Voodoo was one of the worst received Champions ever? Doctor Octopus didn't get his time in the sun until much later than his release.
Give it time, and remember that there's a lot more to Champions than just their big yellow numbers.
You're the one with Guardian as your pfp... Ofc big yellow numbers don't mean much to you... LOL!
Canadian Red numbers are the only ones that matter!
See, I want to trust you that Apocalypse is a good champion. But you also think that Cyclops is an effective champion... sooooo...
What he said was, among the people that used him, he was used very effectively. That turned into the Meme of the Year. Lol. As I pointed out previously, if you're looking at the data itself, he would show a high preponderance of Crit. Not that he's smashing through everything.
You know what's funny people said that about Dr Doom too. Let's wait till he actually enters the game to cast judgement.
but his damage is trash and he doesn't seem to have anything extraordinary... prof x looks so much better
Did you actually watch the whole video? He has tons of really cool mechanics.
Yes, I did watch the whole video. He has some cool mechanics (stun into block, immunities, stun immune while striking, prowess, -100% purify ability accuracy, decent DOT, concussion, good synergies), but his damage is really lackluster. They showcased him as a 6 star rank 3 with suicides on and his damage was still very meh. Also, his anti-evade mechanic is REALLY risky because the opponent can still evade you until 10 evades and they could retaliate and combo you into oblivion.

Yeah well karnak crits everytime and look at him
Karnak was my first 6*. Not OP by any means, but I wasn't bothered by an Evade. LOL, I could still use him for Mixmaster if I wanted to. There's more use to a Champ than raw Damage.

So the only time a champion won't be a dud is if their damage is insane? Gotcha. We apparently saw two different videos. I think he's going to be great. Good on offense and better on defense. Not every champ that comes out has to have some super insane attack damage to be good.

You’d have to get very unlucky. My quake evaded four times before her evade failed against Apocalypse

Yeah but big yellow numbers make big happy smiles
Well, yes. Damage is important, but it's not the only focus. That's the problem. People don't see OP Damage and think a Champ sucks. It takes time to optimize their use and really see the potential. Like Bishop. Comes in handy for that Electro in Variant.
Maybe the same guy desgined Mole man, terrax, and apocalypse. They all have unrealistic buildups with weird abilities that provide weird utility, and unrewarding bursts to the unrealistic buildup.
No one wants to have to spend 1 sp1, 1 sp2, bunch of heavies, and a sp3 to have utility. In cases where you need the AAR or the attack reduction, you're dead before you get to the second full 3 bars. His immunity needs 8 whole seconds to develop and develop seperately! Why? Just give him immunities like a normal champion or at least resistance before he has the immunities.
His burst damage is nice, but his base special attack damage is so low. If it was higher, then his buildup might actually be rewarding, because then his prowess would factor in greatly.
Or maybe if he had some way to increase his crit rating with his molecular control.
But from what I see now, he does have a way to reach "normal" levels of damage output, by having 4 other mutants and ramping up and getting sp1 sp2, but Mole man has access to normal or good damage too situationally. No one liked it.
Don’t know what team Dave was using in his vid, but hopefully his damage isn’t looking good because he wasn’t using a full mutant team.
With a full mutant team Apocalypse receives +60% attack rating so there might still be hope for him yet, unfortunately he would always need a mutant team and would only receive +30% in aq/aw so eh?

Is that Dr V part true? I thought Dr V was regarded as one of the strongest OGs in-game

You didn’t even mention that Quake was considered nothing more than a trophy champion for a long while.

Apocalypse doesn't have any abusable mechanics like the others though. Ghost has phasing and quake has a dodge. Doc oc has power lock and Voodoo has nullify and power control. Apocalyse is very clearly shown to not have power control, low crit rating, low crit damage modifier, with no damage mitigation mechanics. He isn't suicide friendlly and his immunity buildup takes 8 seconds. What am I missing?

I think Terrax gets a bad rap. He's not a champ where you can smash smash smash and expect to get good results. His damage isn't so in your face. Apocalypse looks the same way. He's got DOT for days, with options that no one is immune to. Bonus against opponents with suicides. Strong abilities and (thankfully!) a crappy sig, so you're good to go without a dupe and dozens of stones.
I think he’s an well balanced champ I don’t see him being used in abyss or even LOL seem like a very good to great questing champ and AW defense which is cool everyone can’t be Ghost or domino, I would like to see someone do a legends run with him since he’s so great , as I said I don’t think he’s bad but let’s not kid ourselves ccp can be misleading just go to YouTube and type proxima or moleman he was called the skill corvus 😂😂. I’ve yet to see anyone with moleman in AW on their attack team

Quake was bugged for a while, the aftershock damage didn’t increase with the number of charges. She wasn’t really worth learning to use fully then, once she worked properly you saw her rep rise very quickly.

Well I already had Hyperion and Corvus, and today I opened tech cosmic crystals and got terrax and carnage. To me, terrax is not hyperion or corvus and not even carnage, so he is absolutely useless.
