Also agree with the community requests for RDTs as this is no longer the same champ and people did heavily invest in the old kit
Other options have been shared - it's just a matter of Kabam willingness to modify him further (more dev time). Probably it won't happen though

As for the comparison to OML and Red Magneto, that’s basically comparing apples to oranges. Good was considered a mid-tier champ with some uses, and there were quite a few players who ranked him for those uses. Nobody really ranked Magneto or OML for use before their buffs since neither were viable options for anything. Did Magneto lose his sp3 tank? Yes. As for the heal block, if you’re facing a metal champ then you automatically reverse healing slightly. Plus he has a synergy where he can put a heal block on the opponent on knockdown, so he can still access the heal block if absolutely needed. As for OML, I haven’t much experience with him, but I personally don’t think the regen change makes much of a difference. Yes, it can be nullified now, however OML relies on fury buffs anyways so I personally wouldn’t use him in those matchups regardless. Even with those changes, both champs retained the core pieces of their kit. Magneto can still shut down metal opponents, and OML still has regen and build up his furies as well as the bleeds off specials. Hood has new damage now, but lost a core piece of his kit and utility, and as myself and others have said, that sets a dangerous precedent going forward.
Any mid-tier champ that isn’t at the top of their respective class can have some of their core mechanics taken away for some generic damage. Many of these champs are like Hood in the sense that people rank them for specific uses, so limiting the uses of these champs is a blow to the players who have ranked them and spent valuable resources on them long before their update. One champ I think of is Killmonger. In terms of damage, he isn’t at the top of the class. However his true strike as well as his unstoppable and indestructible mechanics make him very useful, even if the fight may go a bit longer. After this update, what’s to stop them from updating him and removing something like his true strike for some generic damage? Removing major pieces of utility for generic damage should not be an option. If that’s what this is leading to, then the upcoming buffs have me very worried as to what we’ll see happen to these mid-tier champs.
Ill take 250k heavies from a r4 over fate seal all day every day. I can actually use hood in end game content now. He was near useless his noodle attacks before at least for me.
With this update i can use him more than before once per year againts 6.2 boss.
Another thing for me is km has use of every sp: sp1 for unstoppable, sp2 for indestructible, sp3 for big bleed damage. Hood had a great sp2 and nobody really used sp1 or sp3. And instead of making his sp1 stack some shock charges like he he stacks bullets atm, they decided to change his sp2. As people note, he's a different champ now. Could've just make hood99 instead, if they wanted to make that bullets mechanics in some champ. If they wanted to buff hood, there are a lot of better suggestions even in this thread.
2. OML also wasn’t used before, either way, he didn’t lose his regen, it was just changed to a buff. Closest that is to Hood is to his stagger changes, the fate seal change isn’t the same.
3. The regen on hood might not even be intended so don’t go hyping him for that.
4. You’ll probably not even use hood once the honeymoon phase ends because others do burst damage better.
His playstyle is completely different
His strengths are completely different
His weaknesses are completely different
His uses in game are completely different
What you're paying attention to in a fight is completely different
The way his Invisibility is used is completely different
His buff control was amazing and now it's inconsistent and unreliable (missing Hex but ALSO those unnecessarily short staggers)
Heavy mechanic uses completely different
You might like whatever he is now, but it's not Hood. You like this new champion who also happens to wear a red hood. But Hood shouldn't have had to die to get it
Thanks @Mord for doing the digging on this.
5-6 years is relatively early and most games die off well before then, the game has had major improvements , if you want a benchmark to on the transformers forum and you will see the difference as to how much effort and focus they put into this game.
They should not gut functional champs.
I would have been happy with 30% crit rate and stacking staggers
Better champ for clearing out content but not the same utility but this Hood is so much better
