@Ace_03 I know it’s likely just a joke, but I do just want to point out, we are (rather cliche-like) all in this together. We’re on the same side! The podcast gang are part of the community to and I respect their opinion. They aren’t “challenging us”, they are one of us. I just want to make sure what is being said here is represented right.
This community, sometimes rightly, gets a bad image as a whiny, angry mob. Which sometimes is the case, like when people get annoyed about calendars not being good enough. But other times, like 12.0. We have a cause. Personally I think this is comparable to 12.0. Not as bad, sure, but comparable.
Well the double speak, the ignoring the threads, the vague "discussed 19.0 issues" without saying overheating ect., is a tactical move.
The community is volatile right now.
Not saying anything right now allows them to see how this plays out. Ignoring it till it dies and something else replaces this. (AQ changes maybe?).
It allows them to see how little they can give out and keep a fiscally healthy player base.
It allows them to back track and explicitly give out another package and announce it properly if this blows up in their face using the same "we heard you and we listened" tactic we saw in 12.0/AW changes.
This discusssion post was made specifically to allow players to complain and vent until they get tired of doing so. Kabam will not respond since they will not change their stance on how they value their players.
Seriously game team, why is my phone burning hot? Why am I having issues with Parry/Dexterity again? What’s the point of summoners appreciation without resolving issues first? Game is spiraling down and you all know it, don’t you!! Prob why you all pick and choose which comments to delete. Like trying to polish a flaming turd. It’ll never be shiny nor smell good but hey you do it well, right. You’re all better at that then calming my nerves or icing my hands or fixing my phone... shine that turd like no other!!
So with just a couple of days left before SA kicks off, it'd be safe to say the moderators won't be commenting anytime soon. For a couple reasons as I see it. And this is simply my opinion.
Kabam has instructed the mods to remain silent until the event starts. A couple have already commented and it only infuriated the community and fuelled peoples anger.
From what I can merely surmise is that Kabam has read our posts and possibly throwing more resources into each package for us to choose from. If a mod came on here and informed us of this, it could have a far more detrimental effect if the added resources still don't meet the majority of the communitys expectations. And they may even remove the need to choose a package and throw the whole lot our way, as we have told them in our posts that ALL game modes were affected. Due to the typical lack of transparency from Kabam regarding just what specifically is in each package, this gave them the option to improve the quality without the need for notifying the community. So when the details DO come through, we may be pleasantly surprised. I have some strong doubts but this could be a strong possibility.
Another reason for the mods silence could very well be they actually support our points of view. Remember they are players too. So if they put their players caps on, would they be satisfied themselves. So for the sake of not looking somewhat hypocritical, they're remaining silent. Again I'm probably clutching at straws but the sheer lack of communication has ignited the imagination.
Another thing that's got me somewhat baffled is the 1000 5 star shards. If they are a gift for players at all levels, I can't help but wonder why there aren't any 3 or 4 star shards. 5 star shards don't seem to suit all, especially the junior new players. Whereas they would appreciate 3 and 4 star shards. Not that I need or want 3 star shards but some 4's are always welcome.
I really am just throwing ideas out there guys, so keep your replies polite please lol
i like it.
ive been feeling the same way, too. Honestly its just a wait and see thing now... maybe they beefed up the prizes and once we see them they wont seem too bad. Otherwise, we will see the packages and this thread (and most likely much much more) will explode. Hopefully this one doesnt get closed, i like the direction its going and im happy for the most part, we are all staying civil.
We deserve a compensation comparable or better than 12.0
The game has to go forward not backwards, fraud, piloting are rampant and the game hardware and mechanics we're completely diminished.
If you take advantage of spawning revives that's an exploit, but if you buy fraudulent units that's ok.
WE ARE DUE COMPENSATION FOR A LOT OF THINGS
Not just the latest issues, this game should have never gone through 12.0 and now they had the chance to give back to us and show appreciation.
All they have done is talk down to us, patronize us and treat us like condescending parents.
I'll tell you what, we've show you that YOU ARE WRONG, that we are NOT HAPPY and that we DO NOT FEEL APPRECIATED.
PERIOD.
And what you do is spin it around to make us the villains and the rest of your acolytes praise everything you do. Another Disney franchise that used the same tactic is now 50 million in the red because they fans turned their backs against them.
CAUTIONARY TALE: Don't turn your backs on the fans, listen and appreciate us, compensate us NOW and don't regret it later. Or you'll be richest company in the cinder.
Time to make a decision, do you stay with the prettiest girl or guy and keep buying them things to keep them happy as they constantly treats you like **** hoping one day you will wake up next to them and they magically have decided to change?
Or do you find someone who maybe isn’t as pretty, but they have a loving heart, compassion, communication and the willingness to nurture the relationship for both to be happy? At most times, we have a choice to be happy. Just depends on if you have the willpower (not mastery) to do it. At some point, with thousands of complaints. It’s just complaining. Where is our resolution.
Kabam won’t give it. Not a single mood is talking and they are in their office laughing at us
After a mass exodus by both players and youtubers at the end of the season they will reply swiftly and come grovelling...it will be too late for the game by then.
Youtubers leaving will seriously hurt their revenue and many will follow the youtubers.
I can’t speak for everyone but from those that I do know...yeah...the outcome is bleak.
Any game that has a great team and is willing to communicate with their community and act like they care will soon be receiving players into their ranks.
Kabam haven’t thought through their recent actions....or maybe they have...either way there are consequences to every action and there have been enough actions for which there will be consequences for.
@roastedbagel I listened to the show, and although I do really enjoy it, I found myself shaking my head at what was being said that the only thing the community were annoyed about was “how kabam told us”. That’s not what’s going on here. Yeah sure it didn’t help, but I’ve been following this thread very closely and participating too.
So here is the issue I have with what Dragon said. Here is the quote: “That’s [referring to the moderator response being how we found out it was compensation] what caused all the outrage, that is literally the single driving factor in all of the outrage is that, ‘this was the compensation, we weren’t actually told it was compensation until we asked’ and now that we found out after the fact in the way we did, people have become even angrier.
I agree that this is ONE OF the things people are annoyed about, but it’s not the only.
People are annoyed by a range of things.
-how kabam told us: it should have been clear that this was compensation at the very start. We shouldn’t have had to ask, wait for Lyra to vaguely tell us and then a day (I think, or at least hours) later, Vydious to confirm.
-appreciation: it’s being all wrapped up as a kabam saying how much they appreciate us, when it should be compensation. Kabam are trying to spin this as though they are being nice and making sure we all feel thought about. When, in reality, this is to make up for all the issues of the past month
-forced to choose how we were affected: I get that the cast like this part, but a lot of us here don’t. I was affected in arena, Aq, Aw and event quests, but I need to choose where I was affected most? Where can I get the shards I lost from arena, the glory from aq, the shards from Aw, the energy from event quests? You even said yourself that you were android and weren’t affected, but surely you understand how others were?
-the compensation doesn’t make up for the issues, it let’s US make up for it: look at arena one. We get boosts and stamina refills, so we need to put more effort in to make up for what we lost. This isn’t a major one, but still part of it.
-kabam are distancing themselves, from us and the problem: there hasn’t been a mention of the overheating at all. Just “the issues of 19.0”. Kabam seem like a kid not wanting to say sorry to a sibling. They are also ignoring us, this thread has over 43k views and 780 comments, but 2 from kabam officials. Only clarifying it’s compensation, then leaving us to talk, rant and be angry. Kabam are giving an air of utter uncaring to us. And it sucks.
Dragon says in the podcast, that “the package is wonderful. The presentation of it was just a nightmare”. And this does not represent the communities thoughts. Like I said, I get that you like it. And that’s fine, I’m not telling people to dislike it, but we do not think the package is wonderful. No matter what way kabam had wrapped it up.
And look, I’m not throwing shade at anyone at the podcast, I love what you guys do. I just wanted to kinda correct what was being said that this was the only thing we were annoyed about. It felt like all our outrage was being devalued to “oh they were just annoyed that kabam didn’t say it was compensation”. It’s a lot deeper than that.
I hope you could address this on the podcast next week, and not as in a “You should correct yourselves” way, because that’s not what I’m trying to get across here. I just don’t want this anger that the community feels to be painted in a mob, pitchfork, anger, flames light. Because that’s what it seems like. I want our views to be represented, as clearly as you, Deacon, Dragon and JJ etc can all represent your views.
Look forward to the next episode.
Tho the thread isn't bumping and there's under 500 total votes... It's clear between this thread and the poll that even if the delivery of the message is A problem, it's not THE problem. If a popular podcast is painting it as tho the delivery of the message is the only or main problem, that's kinda crazy imo.
Maybe they just really like the compensappreciation? Maybe they weren't dealing with the myriad of issues many people had over the last few months?
Since the announcement and outside this forum, I've talked to a lot of players... From those still trying to finish act 3 or 4 to masters tier... And not one has said this appreciation week is adequate. Most will take any free stuff they're given, but wish there was much more. Forcing us to choose a package geared towards a certain part of the game makes it seem like kabam thinks players were only experiencing issues with one mode of play. I know players who weren't able to compete eq, tho they've never not finished eq before. Arena grinders missed tons of gold and shards, but the arena package doesn't fix that. You can go line by line explaining each issue and they will all be TOTALLY OUTSIDE of the attitude of the announcement and the manner of announcing.
(edit: I hate when old drafts get stuck in a reply)
Until the community decides enough is enough and bands together this type of treatment from Kabam will continue. Its time to take action and speak with our wallets, and impact the wallets of Kabam. We need a boycott to take place not only in spending but also supporting some of our favorite YouTubers. I hate to say let’s impact someone’s job but these voices of the community are in Kabams pocket with the content creators program. You’re crazy if you believe they aren’t instructed to not speak on sensitive issues that will rile the community up, IMO this is a large reason these calls for better compensation or a mod to come in and justify them at least go unanswered.
@chunkyb I agree completely. I’m really not sure how someone who was following the conversation here would be able to conclude that we were only annoyed about the delivery. I mean, there were two polls right? One that you’ve screenshotted there and another that was about whether we felt appreciated and it was 93% in favour of “No”. That’s gotta say something right?
One last thing, I wanted to correct “Compensappreciation” to Comppreciation, I feel it rolls off the tongue better
So I guess they are going to just go on ignoring this thread until their "appreciation" goes live on the 24th. I love the way that this is being handled... I don't understand why they don't realize what is at stake for them. Mike told us that compensation is about making up for what summoners missed out on. Then the MCoC team decides to ignore this and create a complete garbage appreciation event that, one, in now way makes up for what we lost, and two, makes us choose which area of the game we were inconvenienced in when most summoners were inconvenienced in ALL areas of the game.
Where do the lies end? They cannot expect us to forget this when the lies that we were told were so blatantly obvious. Kabam cannot expect us to let something like this go when it is 100% their own fault. It is time to act mature and admit that they messed up. It is okay to mess up, we all understand you guys are human also. We can forgive. What we cannot do, however, is tolerate the constant assumption that Kabam is free to lie and get away with less than the bare minimum. We won't put up with it. No company that is willing to cheat their customers continuously will last, and unfortunately Kabam has put their foot over this line one too many times.

Ah... I see a spelling error... It cannot be unseen now. I read these things through like three times before I post them... *sigh*

Is this the improved communication and transparency we were promised by YOU????
