So even though I don't spend in game I have spent outside of game to try to compete. That along with the aid of a maxed 4 star roster and pretty average rank 4 five stars I got uncollected (loads of earned units can't forget those). Not only were my 4 stars great for synergy but also utility. My 5* roster is full of champs, but champs that I don't have any pleasure playing with unawakened or are just arena fodder (hulkbuster, antman, IP, IF, Kingpin....). This isn't a console game so many of the additions could be streamlined. The game play should be the focus and the accessibility of champs that aren't completely usesless also. Most of the previous nerfs and champs not added to the 5 and 6 star roster seem idiotic now with the list of OP champs that I don't even have 3 star versions of but run into in arena regularly. I am seeing no spenders are desired to quit or at least it feels that way...
I started this game just over a year ago, and I've spent no more than $50 over that span. I got elder's bane, made a run through Labyrinth of Legends, and completed Variant. I have 3 6* champions, who are all essentially useless for "endgame" content.
Id like to think that I've been able to accomplish what i have with my dedication to improving my playskill, and maximizing the tools that the game's RNG has given me.
After the initial "clear up" by Kabam Goggy, I continued to feel as though the gate selection put a focus on rng/pay to win habits rather than rewarding good playskill. The lack of actual answers in the first explanation simply felt insulting and made things worse for those who were upset in the first place.
@Kabam Miike while I am glad that you revealed the fact that there are plans to further increase the gate requirements in the future of act 6, you did nothing but make me feel worse about my ability to push on with story content.
we still haven't been presented with a good reason as to why the gates are there in the first place. every single one of your reasons has been interpreted back to "too bad, you need to spend money on fgmc's to get to the level we intend you to be at for act 6".
I've grown to love this game, and the community that I've become a part of, but I can't stress enough how dissapointed I am with the direction you have chosen to go in with Act 6.
This decision they’ve made looks like it’s inflaming as much of their player base as the 12.0 fiasco.
Not only that, but with many people turning away from Map 7 due to difficulty versus reward, Kabam might need to rethink the direction they’re heading if they want to keep their players engaged.
Here, you gotta hope for RnG to help you get a god-tier champ, which happens very less. So you gotta stick to your 5/50s, which wait! are banned from act 6
Anyway, to be honest, the 5/6* gate doesn't affect the target market of A6.1 much. If a player is badly affected by it, then they're most probably not the target market that Kabam is catering A6.1 for, for now.
From another perspective, having to lose the use of 4*s, means players will have to think of alternative methods to get past nodes instead of who they regularly use. An example being the Abomination + Biohazard + Nano Plague in this month's UC EQ. The common counters are Iceman, EF, and OR since you cannot use robots due to Nano Plague. If this node + champ combination were to be in A6, and we do not have a 5* variant of the above mentioned counters, what champion on our 5* roster can get past it? This opens up some creativity across the community since A6 SHOULD (big should) be testing every aspect of your roster and gameplay.
However, that being said, I personally find that there could have been better ways around the gating of content to cater to more skilful players.
It's EXACTLY because you can possibly do A6 with all your god tier 5/50s that the developers want to shift that reliance away from them and allow you to be creative to think of alternative methods to get past opponents.
While I do not consider myself a whale (i'm more of a large tuna), i have spent a decent amount of money on this game. I have a rather fleshed out 5* roster, although my 6* are quite bad. I am very angry about the act 6 requirements as it pertains to a lot of summoners. The restrictions on 4* are unreasonable to say the least. I don't expect 4* to clear content, but the synergies help fill out the rosters. This is not only an unpopular more, but is quite frankly a move that is meant to give the whales an unfair advantage.
It's totally fair for you to make money, but this is going too far.
Please listen to most of the suggestions in the following video as it explains the position of the community in general far better than I could.
